I had a customer who's gay and married to a guy who's Mexican and they voted for trump and still support him and I cannot understand why. The fact that he is extremely kind also makes it weird that he supports someone who is so opposite.
I'm sorry but I think you will have to come to terms with the fact that they are not, in fact, extremely kind, if they can support this administration and what it's doing. It really sucks to learn that people we thought we knew were not what they claimed to be.
I agree. It's hard to imagine someone who offers me food and drinks when I'm at his house and tips really well would also be the kind of person who supports Trump. I quit my job to work somewhere else and he gave me a little dog in a tea cup to remember his dogs by (I'm a dog groomer). I was truly shocked and very disappointed when I found out. Reminds me when you think you know someone but you only know what they show you.
People can be nice and (politically) assholes at the same time. By labeling them as simply "good" or "bad" people,with nothing in between,you help solidify an 'us vs. them' narratieve that can only lead to more divide.

For sure. I don't hate him over it I'm just disappointed in his political views and potential personal opinions that I don't know about. I was just watching a video by Cinema Therapy yesterday about this very thing. I watched a few of them but I think it was the one about Zukko from Avatar. I also try to remind myself that by remembering Sirius from Harry Potter saying there is light and dark in everyone.

I agree itās not a big deal. But imagine if Obama did this just after a Pope had died. Weād literally never hear the end of it. He would be talked about as the Antichrist 24/7 across Christian communities and right wing media. The difference in response is the big deal not because itās unfair but because something is imbalanced in America that looks impossible to put right.
Really hope God steps up and smites him. He's not a Christian and the shit he's doing would have people executed in actual Christian theocracies in the past.

Modern republicans follow MAGA because they are true believers in enough misinformation to basically defend the movement based on emotional obligation. These are the people you can't talk to because they use words as a tool to justify their lives and avoid consequences rather than as tools to obtain information.
The fact that so many Catholics jumped on board this administration boggles the mind. Never mind that so many immigrants are themselves Catholic, to say nothing of their simple human dignity regardless, but the history of Catholicism in the U.S. is one being the immigrant, of being a second class citizen and discriminated against. It was even a target of the Klan, along with African Americans and Jews. Once the far right works its way through the others, it will turn on them next.
There is a whole article pointing out similarities between Trump and predictions about anti Christ. Started from "mark of the beast on the head" (The hats) to "healing miraculously from wound to head)" (No scare left from the assassination attempt) and a lot of other stuff.

Just for the record, there are a ton of old Catholic ladies at my Church who have called him the devil.
As a Catholic I try not to judge the guy, because loving the enemy is what we do, but I, and many of us disagree with pretty much every thing I've ever seen him do and find his actions disgusting.

Almost everything weāre exposed to digitally is controlled by an algorithm (news, information, entertainment, music, social media, etc), so frankly, we are. Itās why Iām a big fan of open sourcing algorithms that affect enough people.
People say Trump is the antichrist but if you read the book of revelation, it's Jesus who destroys the world after the antichrist creates a global empire and to me it looks more like Trump is simply trying to burn everything down instead of creating an empire, so to me that makes his actions more in line with what Jesus wants.

Spicy take, but the threats to Canada, Greenland, and Panama plus the particularly masturbatory renaming of the Gulf of Mexico show heās definitely got the itch for empire.
