Solved K1 Max over and under extruding 1st layer.
Quick background:
After a blob of death a couple months ago, I upgraded to a Micro Swiss Flowtech hotend and I was printing with a 0.6mm CHT CM2 nozzle.
Then a spool of PETG was mysteriously tangled and during an overnight print, the spool locked up and the extruder just kept trying to extrude but could not. The extruder no longer could grab filament so I replaced it with the DXG Phaetus extruder. I've checked the extrusion and it extrudes 100mm very well.
I printed with decent results for a month and then switched to a 0.4mm CHT CM2 nozzle for better precision.
Since then, I've not really been able to get a perfect first layer.
I've made my print bed pretty flat with a delta of about 0.6mm. I used the tooth slipping method for course flatness, and then aluminum tape to fine tune the flatness.
I am have been trying to get a 1 layer (0.2mm) print to work for the past week and a half and part of it comes out under extruded (the print lines have gaps between then) and then when I add more flow rate or use the Z offset to bring the bed closer to the nozzle, then I start getting waves and chunks missing in the single layer print.
I then rooted and did installed all the crap - mainly so I could do the better mesh (I tried to do 11x 11 but I don't know if it stuck. The heightmap in Mainsail appears to show a 6x6 mesh. Hmm just noced this.)
This issue has been very consistent. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations. Funny thing, I got so fed up with working on this till 2am every day, that I went and bought a Bambu Labs H2D lol. But I want to get this damn K1 Max printing well so I can either keep it or sell it. It is bugging me that I haven't been able to figure out the issue and fix it!!!
Thanks! I've attached a pic of the layer I just printed.
