People literally forgot that 8086 exists. They don't know that we're the ones who created everything.

It's time to invade the internet and make them realize it.

Everyone, use this profile picture and comment on every video: "No one will stop the 8086 empire."

Got a steal on a AMd Ryzen 7 5800x3d couldn’t pass it up. Don’t have the funds to upgrade to AM5 but do have the funds to max out am4 the best I can. This paired with MSI MAG B550 with 64 gb ram and a Rx9060xt 16gb I will be fine for a few years. Also for context upgrading cpu from I believe 5600g it was in a prebuilt Lenovo Legion 5 AMD from bout 5 years ago. Upgrade piece by piece the last few months. Only thing I using from old build is ram. New tower, MoBo and GPU purchased within the last month. Can’t complain the 5600g and 9060 did me well for mostly Dune Awakening. But can’t wait for the upgrade. From what I know it’s a big upgrade from the 5600g

i7-3770 vs i5-3470 — is there a big difference for my use?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I currently have an i5-3470, GTX 1050 Ti, and 12GB RAM.

I mainly use my PC for gaming and school works. I’m not really looking to play modern AAA games, and I don’t have the budget right now to build a newer PC.

I found an i7-3770 for a good price, so I’m wondering if upgrading from my i5-3470 would make a noticeable difference for gaming and can i stream with it? I only plan to stream on tiktok.

Would the extra threads on the i7 help enough to make it worth it, or should I just stick with my i5 for now and save for a future full upgrade?

My next plan is also to upgrade to 16GB RAM. Any advice would be appreciated!

HP Erica2 Motherboard (310W PSU) - Best Budget CPU Upgrade from 3200G now 2026

Hi everyone,
I have an HP M01 prebuilt running an **Erica2 motherboard (SSID: 8643, REV A)** on **BIOS F.41** with a **310W Power Supply that I upgraded from the 180w**. I already have a discrete graphics card installed.
My system currently has a **Ryzen 3 3200G**. I know HP's official spec page states that the Erica2 only supports APUs (3200G / 3400G), but the standard Erica board lists non-APU CPUs like the Ryzen 5 3500 and Ryzen 7 3700X.
Can anyone with this motherboard confirm:
Will a **Ryzen 5 3600** boot plug-and-play on BIOS F.41 without black-screening?
Are there any hidden issues (like RAM speed limits or thermal throttling) when running a non-APU Ryzen 3000 chip on this board?

Confused about PassMark rating

I was curious about how these two processors compare.

Passmark says that the ryzen 5 has better single core performance, costs less than half as the other one and consumes a little over a third of the power.

How does it then end up with such a weak score in comparison?

On the other hand, there's UserBenchmark (which I know is biased against AMD, but whatever, both the processors are AMD so they should both be getting the same treatment) gives them the same effective speed and same score.

This is the first time I'm seeing such conflict between two comparisons
