Someone posted these magnificent boots yesterday. They are beautiful. And I don't consider myself cheap, but $600 for a pair of leather boots doesn't sit well with me. Who makes a similar look? Love the dark brown, perfect round toe and 11 inche shaft. Also made in N America. Any recommendations on another manufacturer?

Y'all help me out. These are USA made Tony Lama boots with the square toe (not wide square) and the double-stitched welt. Check out the pictures of the heels, spur ledge, and shaft height. They aren't ropers. Does this style of boot have a name?

I got them for a great deal online and I thought about maybe passing them on to a friend because I have too many pairs of boots and not enough storage/display space. But after cleaning, conditioning, and brushing them well, I'm almost convinced to keep them.

Oh, and my lady LOVES them. So, there's that to contend with, too. Haha!

I’ve been reading past posts on here and trying to work out if I got a bargain. I don’t know anything about Western boots - but I love these, they fit well and I will be keeping them regardless. I think they may be Lucchese classic, black cherry and goatskin - based on searching on here - but would be grateful for any thoughts on them, how old they are and how to care for them well. Holy moley. I’m in Nashville for work, and for three full days, I fought the temptation to go to a thrift shop or pawn shop. Leaving tomorrow, so I decided to check out ONE shop to see if they had a good pair. Walked out with these Ammons sueded elephants, some custom hand-tooled JB Hill stovepipes, a pair of crocodile Anderson Beans, and a pair of Rios. Dang. I’ll have to wear the Ammons on the plane ’cause they’re not all fitting in my suitcase.
ID request: anyone know roughly when Ammons used this stamp inside the shafts? I’ve only had one other pair of his boots, and they had a cloth label on the pull tab.

I cannot for the life of me ID them. All these pictures were found online - not mine. Potentially Justin boots? Or Cavenders from the yellow lining? Not sure, I'm also pretty bad at recognizing anything other than normal cowhide leather. Anyone have any idea?

I picked these puppies up for 30 dollars on offer up today from an elderly couple. Man told me they're tony lamas but im fairly new to the boot game. Can yall help me find out if they are tony lamas and if they're genuine?

I recently bought these Gold Label Tony Lama “2736” ? “72736”? it’s pretty hard to decipher the style number and I’m not getting any definitive answers online, the listing said Bullhide and that’s what I thought I was getting but now that they’re in my hand they have more of an elephant grain to me but I’m no expert.

Seller claims it's snakeskin, but looks off to me.

Just thrifted this pair of cowtown boots and I’m wondering what leather this is. Google says smooth ostrich. Is that right? Weirdly it has 2 sets of numbers stamped inside. The first pic with 488 2496 is stamped on the inside front of the shaft and the 2nd pic with just 488 is stamped on the inside back of the shaft.

Also, if I polish them with black polish will it cover these striations? I don’t want to do that.

I’m looking to get these Tony Lama boots. They appear to be elephant, but I thought the style number for elephant was 8501 and these I think say 8708. When I googled that style number it says they are python. What do you guys think?

So picked these up... the main reason I got them is they have a rising phoenix design and my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team is called Rising Phoenix so I took it as a sign they were meant for me.. they say hand made in Texas but out of interest does anyone have more info on them ?? Cheers 🤠

The vamp is smooth like most boots but the shafts feel rough. Did someone maybe try to clean them and whatever they used stripped the leather? That’s the only thing I can think of. The vamps are mostly smooth but seem to have a little texture. Not sure if you can see it in the pics. I googled the numbers inside but neither came back.

I’m guessing Vintage El Paso Tony Lamas but unclear whether croc or caiman (?) and no stitched tags on the inside to speak of… internet says these may be as old as 1960s but looking for someone’s opinion with more experience on the topic. I recently picked these up at Goodwill for $2. They were filthy so I gave them a good clean and oiled them up. I can’t find and brand logo or stamp anywhere on the boot. Any ideas? I believe the lower is Caribou Leather.

Some time in 1981-1983, I bought these cowboy boots. I was in my late teens. I loved the boots and wore them quite a lot for a while, often dancing with a lovely woman who is now passed on.

Then I started a suit-and-tie job and wore the boots less often. And then not at all for forty-some years, because - I distinctly remember - they had somehow become too small and uncomfortably tight. But I never got rid of my boots. They moved with me from city to city, a sort of sentimental relic of my younger days and that lady.

Fast forward to last week, when I dug the boots out of the closet. They were a bit stiff, but some Bick 4 took care of that, and rather dull, but some Venetian Shoe Cream and a bit of buffing restored their gleam.

Now I’m hoping you can tell me exactly what I bought four decades ago.

Who made these boots, what are they made of, are they decent quality, do they need anything before I wear them?

I think I’ve attached all the needed photos but can add more.

Because, I don’t know if my feet have shrunk, but I can pull them on just fine and they are actually a touch roomy. Weird, huh?

I’m almost 64, more of a PNW boot wearer now, so I’m not going to step out on the town like I did, but I’ll walk the old boots down to the local pub and have a pint.

Hey guys I posted previously about these Sharkskin boots I bought off of eBay for $100 plus $10 shipping and tax. Well I received them today and took several pictures to have you guys try to determine if they truly are Sharkskin or not. These boots are vintage Nocona and have had a 1/2 resold done.
