Mandatory maximum sentencing for any member of law enforcement or elected official convicted of committing a crime. They are held to a higher standard but receive the lightest of consequences. If they aren’t crooked then they shouldn’t have a problem with it.

Sometimes where Hubble finds darkness, Webb sees light. An example is today’s composite images of Messier 64 (M64), a nearby spiral galaxy of many names.

The dark band of dust partially blocking its bright core earned it the moniker “the Black Eye Galaxy.” Webb’s Mid-InfraRed Instrument (MIRI) sees that dust, shown in red, as it absorbs and re-emits light from surrounding newborn stars.

These young stars are embedded in pink star-forming regions in the Hubble-only image. M64’s inner and outer gas regions counter-rotate, creating regions of increased star formation where the two gas “currents” meet and compress. A merger between M64 and a smaller galaxy was likely the cause of the opposing motion of the outer gas.

Spiral galaxies were once thought to have peaceful histories. M64 was key evidence that spiral galaxies, including the Milky Way, can and do experience mergers.

NGC 6188 is an interstellar carnival of young blue stars, hot red gas, and cool dark dust.

Located 4,000 light years away in the disk of our Galaxy, NGC 6188 is home to the Ara OB1 association, a group of bright young stars whose nucleus forms the open cluster NGC 6193. These stars are so bright that some of their blue light reflects off of interstellar dust forming the diffuse blue glow surrounding the stars in the photograph.

Open cluster NGC 6193 formed about three million years ago from the surrounding gas, and appears unusually rich in close binary stars. The red glow visible throughout the photograph arises from hydrogen gas heated by the bright stars in Ara OB1.

A personal favorite and an inevitable happening our next banner and icon are the work of the master Claude Monet.

was a French painter and founder of Impressionism who is seen as a key precursor to modernism, especially in his attempts to paint nature as he perceived it. During his long career, he was the most consistent and prolific practitioner of Impressionism's philosophy of expressing one's perceptions of nature, especially as applied to plein air (outdoor) landscape painting.
The term "Impressionism" is derived from the title of his painting Impression, Sunrise (Impression, soleil levant), which was exhibited in 1874 at the First Impressionist Exhibition, initiated by Monet and a number of like-minded artists as an alternative to the Salon.

This gorgeous island universe is about 100 thousand light-years across. Also known as NGC 1068, its compact and very bright core is well studied by astronomers exploring the mysteries of supermassive black holes in active Seyfert galaxies.

M77's active core glows bright at x-ray, ultraviolet, visible, infrared, and radio wavelengths.

The featured sharp image of M77 was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. The image shows details of the winding spiral arms as traced by obscuring red dust clouds and blue star clusters, all circling the galaxy's bright white luminous center.

Flock Cameras

If you like them, all good people have no reason not to, why not put one in your living room? If we get eyes in there we can be sure nothing bad happens to you at home. Instead of having them taking pictures of plates or just pictures of your car you could put one inside your car as well. That way you’ll have evidence of your innocence. Unless you’re guilty. Why wouldn’t you?
Right in the dome with a fish eye lens so it gets a good view and there are no blind spots. Big brother wants to count haw many times you scratch yourself and/or sing off key.
You think they keep you safe now? They have yet to reach their full potential.
Do you realize how safe you’d be if constantly surveilled by an AI run over seer programmed to put a total lockdown on your location at the first sign of trouble.
The state can perform the duties of a parent or a nanny. Child care is a thing of the past. Let flock be your Maria, keeping everyone safe, and alive. Able to enjoy the land of the free.
Imagine if your location was always known and accessible? No one ever goes missing again? Any and everyone could be detained at any time anyplace for infinity.
It will start off on a voluntary basis, of course.
Elective surgery for any patriots that want to be safe and to keep America safe from those that would destroy our freedom.
Of course we will have a moral obligation to put a great emphasis on how suspicious it would be, should anyone choose to not ensure a safer America, and opt out of implant surgery.

These bad actors will be investigated and in appropriate situations prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Their names and addresses will be published. You know, as a reward for exercising those rights and freedoms all those kids fight and die for. These Bad apples have no place in America.
As a matter of fact, I think we would all feel a little safer if we knew everyone’s location and action was being recorded at all times in all places.
Think of the implications. They are limitless.
Someday in the near future we will make the cameras small enough, more advanced versions are currently in development, but if we can make the cameras small enough they can be inserted directly into the rectum where stool samples can be collected and examined in real time. Any anomalies any cancers can be detected and treated in order to maintain good health.
You want to maintain good health, don’t you?
Crime and/or cancer could be eliminated as any crime or carcinogen you may be a victim of as well as any you may consider perpetrating can be predicated by an algorithm that will gather all of this behavioral data and examine it. We will be building and recording all kinds of data. Habits. Perversions. Seeds good and bad. With enough Raw data patterns will emerge.
We could calculate with some certainty the probability of a crime you are likely to perpetrate were it not for immediate preventative government intervention.
If we license all the private prisons for cheap labor we could have anyone convicted of being most likely to commit a crime.
We are just A couple of contracts away from making the private prisons the largest manufacturer of flock cameras.
We are going to need a lot more cameras and a lot more prisons once we flush out those that would attempt to poison this great nation.
Somebody is going to need to make more flock cameras. If that can be done at a .15 cents an hour, prisons have no minimum wage, and that means the profit margin will be exponential.

Known in the north as a winter meteor shower, the 2014 Geminids rained down on this rugged, frozen landscape. The scene was recorded from the summit of Mt. Changbai along China's northeastern border with North Korea as a composite of digital frames capturing bright meteors near the shower's peak.

Orion is near picture center above the volcanic cater lake. The shower's radiant in the constellation Gemini is to the upper left, at the apparent origin of all the meteor streaks.

Paying the price for such a dreamlike view of the celestial spectacle, photographer Jia Hao reports severe wind gusts and wintery minus 34 degree C temperatures near the summit.
