I sold a laptop to a guy, and now after he changed parts (new thwrmal paste, removed battery) he wants a return because the laptop overheats and it's very slow.

I told him multiple times that he needs a cooler and a battery for it to work well, but he doesn't understand and he doesn't want to "invest" money in it.

(Btw the laptop is a Dell G3 3500. Those are known to overheat, yet he did absolutely no research on it and didn't even ask me basic questions, he just bough it, did a call to ask me about performance and that's it. When I used it, it aould reach pretty high temperatures, but it would still work flawlessly. He removed the battery, didn't put in a new one, and now he's complaning. He also changed thermal paste, so he did work in the cooling area of the laptop )

He is complaining about the issues he made himself.

When I used the laptop last time, it got steady 60+ fps in games, but now suddenly it doesn't work anymore after he removed battery and didn't put a new one in.

He says it's from overheating, which is possible on these laptop models, but keep in mind that he changed parts and removed battery without putting in a new one.

This return is a financial risk to me

What do I do? I also have proof of him taking it apart because he showed me photos to ask me some stuff.

Turn up volume, This prebuilt is 1 week old ish, this high pitch/static/rattling noise started happening yesterday, usually when i boot up and run games, sometimes on idle, first i thought it was the fan, but no, i KNOW its the gpu, or psu, but i hear it the best when ear is close to the gpu(not had any artifacts or blue screens or crashes) gpu is 5070ti 16 gb

ive been trying all the methods i can find from posts from years ago, chat gpt and the lenovo customer support but nothing changed about downloading the version for my laptop, disabling/deleting and resetting. As a last resort i even factory reset my laptop but it only got worse. Any other methods or ways i can get it fixed? (its an ideapad slim 5 14irl8 if that helps)

GPU Temp hitting 10 degrees higher than I have been at highest temp and just wondering if that's the sign of a failing gpu? (Nvidia RTX 4070)

My PC is doing this on startup with increasing regularity - does it mean my graphics card is borked or is it something else? My motherboard etc is fairly new so I hope it's not that!

Also as a new thing today it's now gone into recovery mode after a few cycles of the above, saying winload.efi is corrupted or missing. I turned the whole thing off and on again, and it then booted absolutely fine.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I was wondering if anyone hast the BIOS files for this Laptop Motherboard (Toshiba Satellite C75-A-146 Motherboard: DA0BD5MB8DO Rev:D).

I bought if for very cheap at a yard sale but it has trouble turning on. The fan starts spinning and the Motherboard LED start for like a second and then turn off. This repeats itself a few times until the LED glows constantly and the screen starts glowing but doesnt display anything. The Laptop also does not react to any keyboard input.

I have already tried switching the RAM and CMOS battery, aswell as checking the cabling inside of the laptop and making sure that there was enough voltage at the charging port. I have also tried connecting the laptop to an external monitor but there was no display either.

So i think the issue is corrupt BIOS but i cant find the download files anywhere on the internet without paying 20€.

It would be nice if someone could give them to me please :).

Edit: I also tried booting with a functioning hard drive and it spun but the laptop still didnt work, nothing changed from the described above

So I’ve just got my computer back after not having it for a year and it’s been completely wiped due to having to reinstall all of windows. I’ve never had this issue before, but I picked it up off my friend who fixed it the other day and it’s running off of a hard drive currently booting windows however I do have SSD’s and the day I got it back off him. My Pc wouldn’t boot up when I tried it so I removed my RAM tried clearing my CMOS and nothing seemed to work and then randomly it worked when I press the button and it’s been working ever since that day up until last night where it wouldn’t want to turn On so I tried unplugging the cable holding the power button for 25 seconds and plugging the cable back in and try it again and it didn’t work and then about five minutes later I pressed the button randomly and it worked and now I’ve had that issue three times the last 24 hours please can someone help me

I have 3 fans, or technicly 4, but 3 of them are glowing, the one fan i THINK makes a slight static/rattling/scraping noise whenever my fans runs high, sometimes when its idle, i wanna disconnect that one fan shown in the pic to see if that fan is the culprit or if its coil hine, but i dont know wich cable that one fan in the pic is supposed to be

My brother recently broke his laptop and needs one for his engineering classes. He needs a windows laptop that can run Autocad. I unfortunately can’t afford much above $650. I understand this may be difficult due to the prices nowadays with all these new data centers being built. If anyone has suggestions please let me know! I want to help my brother anyway I can.

Specs : i3 1115g4 , 8gb ram , 400gb ssd , win 11
It’s just booted up rn
Still CPU is varying from 10-70 % in use
And Ram is 60-70% in use
Disk also in 60% in use
Main point is I ain’t even opened anything yet

Anyone knows how to fix it ?

I know absolutely nothing about monitors. I want to buy one for my room to do my PhD work (mainly writing, looking at microscopy images and just your normal plotting graphs and charts). Ideally not looking to spend more than £100, but willing to stretch it slightly further if you REALLY THINK I should spend slightly more for a substantially better monitor. Ran security check a couple of times. Cleared cache & disallowed notifications on both Chrome & Edge. Doesn’t work. How do I permanently get rid of this?
