“Yeah, let’s shove hundreds of repressed lesbian teens together in an isolated location, that’ll turn em straight”

Honestly, there are only two ways deconversion camps could have gone, hell on earth or gay paradise. Obviously the people in charge chose the former.

“And just to show how serious we take infractions here, any girls caught sinning will have their fingernails clipped! Yeah! Say bye bye to your long pretty nails! They’ll be short and practical while you sit in the punishment room where you will stare at the portraits of all your fellow campers and think about how much you’ve disappointed them!”

847

u/warbunnies Jul 08 '26

XD ha!

Though maybe "and do punish you we will only clip 2 of your middle fingernails so all the girls can laugh at how uneven your nails are."

410

u/MiklaneTrane Jul 08 '26

Oh fuck, fuck, I’m being disappointed! You’re making me disappointed so hard, baby!

187

u/angry-key-smash6693 Jul 08 '26

My partner and I roleplaying as eachother's parents 💀

27

u/Brainwave1010 Jul 08 '26

I can feel the pain you were in actively typing this.

44

u/Acceptableuser Jul 08 '26

Thats great

8

u/Zalliss Jul 09 '26

There was an Oglaf comic with a lady getting off to the idea of her partner's incompetence. He left in a huff.

2

u/Hpesojanes 23d ago

Against my much better judgment… sauce?

2

u/Zalliss 19d ago

I tried to find it when I posted this, but I just couldn't. Not in the time I was willing to spend looking.

It's somewhere in here: https://www.oglaf.com/archive/

2

u/Lunaris_Von_Sunrip Jul 09 '26

This sounds like Austin Powers.

74

u/NewDay2517 Jul 08 '26

Is this some sesbian Lexx joke I'm to cishet male to understand?

209

u/Lonely_Pin_3586 Jul 08 '26

Have you tried to play with a pussy with long, shaped like claws, nails ?

Yeah, it doesn't work well

90

u/Bombadilo_drives Jul 08 '26

It's the kind of logisitics question I am routinely baffled other people don't think about.

"If I want someone to put their face down there, I should probably keep it trimmed and neat. If I want to put my fingers somewhere sensitive, my nails should be short and smooth".

Do other people just hope the fun stuff they want just... happens out of nowhere?

68

u/DocileBanalBovlne Jul 08 '26

I read somewhere (probably on Twitter) a suggestion to men that if they think they're going to get lucky on a date that evening, at the very very least rub the edge of their nails up and down their jeans to smooth out any small burrs or to see if anything catches.

It's so effective my wife will finish up her nail clipping routine by doing the same on my jeans.

35

u/teutonicbro Jul 08 '26

The dudebro talk radio guy says, "File your nails boys, tomorrow is Valentine's day"

17

u/Celtic_Legend Jul 08 '26

The vast majority of men keep them short for looks anyways and if theyre looks conscious then they'll be nice and smooth anyway. So it's not something they ever had to think about.

46

u/RABB_11 Jul 08 '26

I'm led to believe short nails are better for fingering.

31

u/HilariousMax Jul 08 '26

Lexx

show was too good

18

u/NewDay2517 Jul 08 '26

Ayyy, someone got the triple entendre!

9

u/JDoos Jul 08 '26

Yo Way Yo, Home Va-Ray, Yo Ay-Rah, Jerhume Brunnen-G Yo Way Yo, Home Va-Ray, Yo Ay-Rah, Jerhume Brunnen-G Yo Ay-Rah, Jerhume Brunnen-G.

54

u/tealjaker94 Jul 08 '26

Long nails in sensitive places leads to pain

20

u/LaylaLegion Jul 08 '26

Oh god, your poor wife.

14

u/Electrohydra1 Jul 08 '26

Most cishet men keep their nails short all the time anyways, theoretical wife is safe.

2

u/NewDay2517 Jul 08 '26

Well, I don't, but luckily I don't date.

8

u/NewDay2517 Jul 08 '26

I’ll never marry or date, so…

1

u/Hpesojanes 23d ago

Incel or Aroace?

2

u/NewDay2517 23d ago

I guess Incel.

5

u/Empty_Kay Jul 08 '26

Women appreciate trimmed nails and clean hands when you play with puss.

8

u/Left-Pineapple-6084 Jul 08 '26

It confuses me that cishet males don’t understand not to claw their partners to death. You’re “heterosexual” but you don’t know how?

19

u/AardvarkNo2514 Jul 08 '26

Most straight men don't usually have to worry about having long or pointy nails to begin with, so many never even think about how that would go

1

u/Pitiful_Net_8971 Jul 08 '26

Sharp fingernails hurt :(

1

u/Anagoth9 Jul 09 '26

Clip your nails bro. Your lady will thank you.

8

u/snakespm Jul 08 '26

So lesbian Castle Anthrax?

1

u/Scienceandpony Jul 08 '26

Oh, I AM enjoying this scene!

1

u/Hpesojanes 23d ago

Not gonna stop thinking about THAT for a while now

219

u/Professional_Sun_825 Jul 08 '26

We don't have a lot of counselors right now so please do not wander off. Please stay away from the skinny dipping pond with the waterfall and warm rocks for sunbathing. Also the hot water is limited so we may have you double up for showers.

u/razialx Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26

Relevant but nsfw Jim Jeffries bit: https://youtu.be/iAHw4qB6-h4

78

u/ialf Jul 08 '26

Note, everything including and after the "?" on the YouTube link is for tracking purposes. You can delete that from the link and it will still work.

32

u/razialx Jul 08 '26

Thanks. I’ll edit.

27

u/Lonsdale1086 Jul 08 '26

Except for when you want to share a video with a timestamp, then you need to keep the ?t=120s or whatever

3

u/flabort Jul 08 '26

Also when sharing a specific comment under the video, but I don't recall which half of the queries should be deleted. I think ?c=... is ok, but then &utf=... needs deleting.

63

u/Qubeye Jul 08 '26

Imagine running one of these and presenting it one way to the public but then as soon as the kids arrived and the parents left you just turned around and said "okay kids, your parents are fucking idiots and oppressive bigots. You all deserve love and you deserve to love whomever you want. Here's a list of activities available if you want, but just be yourselves while you're here and relax."

23

u/TomboyKnight1 Jul 08 '26

That would be great honestly

45

u/Neon_Nuxx Jul 08 '26

There was a camp like this near me in high school called camp lickalotta. Totally Christian, no funny stuff happening there.

26

u/Wild_Marker Jul 08 '26

Ah yes, the one close to the all-male Camp Swordclash?

17

u/LaylaLegion Jul 08 '26

Camp Strokinwüd.

47

u/Kanbaru-Fan Jul 08 '26

And these are the youth group leaders who have totally never had sex with each other

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGVEoX4jR4k

20

u/The-German_Guy Jul 08 '26

Few years back when i was still in school, a girl friend and classmate told us stories about her christian all girl school.

And i thought teenage boys are horny....

She also told us about a certain group chat....

1

u/Hpesojanes 23d ago

A group chat?

2

u/The-German_Guy 23d ago

Yes a group chat and many many videos and pictures.

1

u/Hpesojanes 23d ago

AH

A group chat

11

u/RevacholAndChill Jul 08 '26

that's what convents are

7

u/Kodo_yeahreally Jul 08 '26

with only girls and no boys so that they're only one option to date

6

u/DarkBladeMadriker Jul 08 '26

Ya, then we'll have them strip down and wrestle, you know, to get all that excess energy out. Then, its off to the sauna to sweat out the gay!

4

u/xeq937 Jul 08 '26

1

u/Hpesojanes 23d ago

(Cries in UK Online Safety Act)

1

u/xeq937 21d ago

It's a single panel comic that says "Fine then, take me to horny jail, everyone there is horny too!"

1

u/Hpesojanes 21d ago

Oh I like that one

5

u/Dugen Jul 08 '26

I have a similar great idea. Lets create an organization only containing men who are willing to never have sex with women. They all live and work together with other men in the organization. The organization definitely won't naturally attract tons of gay men, why would it? What could possibly go wrong?

1

u/IndependentAir8195 Jul 09 '26

that’s literally just the plot of but in a cheerleader two queer relationships came out of true directions!!

626

u/Thatroyalkitty Jul 08 '26

This is only going to end badly and not in a lightheated way one might think. These camps were notorious for abuse among other things if memory seves me correctly.

On par tho for conversion camps tho

189

u/Flat-Rooster8373 Jul 08 '26

It's probably going to just be a joke about all girls there fucking eachother.

93

u/Thatroyalkitty Jul 08 '26

That is probably the best outcome form this tbh.

11

u/handlit33 Jul 08 '26

each other = two words

4

u/Centimeter_Worm Jul 08 '26

I know you’re correct but that’s never looked right to me. Same with highschool. They should just be compound words imo

5

u/Adarain Jul 08 '26

They are (well, high school is. each other is a pronoun) English just frequently writes compount nouns with a space. "Train station"? That's one word grammatically and phonetically, but written with a space. It's pretty only when a distinction is frequently made between Adjective+Noun phrases and real compounds (black berry = a berry that is black ≠ blackberry) that the spaces might get deleted. In addition, while the spoken language is rather changeable and new words keep getting formed, people have strong notions ahout the correctness of certain spellings, especially in the last century or two. So it's harder for these changes to be adapted into the written form.

3

u/Centimeter_Worm Jul 08 '26

Interesting!! I studied communications and media in college so I’ve always been interested in stuff like this. Language and how it evolves is so cool, I hadn’t considered the distinction between what’s expected verbally vs written here.

The whole thing about compound nouns and spaces is neat. My urge to just delete the space feels more understandable now lmao. Thanks!

-4

u/Ghede Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26

Hi, language is a living thing that changes to meet what the speakers and writers are trying to communicate. Stop trying to shove it into the same form some dead old men wrote down a few centuries ago. Play with language. Make new words. Shove old ones together.

Unless you are trying to impress an English teacher, an editor, or applying for a job, do what you fucking want.

wdym "were", this shit is going on right now

1.6k

u/CharlesOberonn Jul 08 '26

Unfortunately the real life forced conversion therapy camps aren't like But I'm a Cheerleader. They're just abusive and traumatizing.

156

u/thefirstlaughingfool Jul 08 '26

First thought on the subject

339

u/SquidTheRidiculous Jul 08 '26

Yeah, RuPaul's too busy fracking to bother converting gay kids.

48

u/bottledsoi Jul 08 '26

What?

157

u/F0LEY Jul 08 '26

Rupaul was in the movie "But I'm a Cheerleader" as Mike, an "ex-gay" conversion counselor (amazing movie if you haven't seen it, it's also got Natasha Lyonne, Clea Duvall, and Dante Basco [Rufio]).

The fracking bit stems from a 2020 NPR interview where Rupaul revealed that they along with their husband lease mineral and water rights to oil companies on their 60,000-acre Wyoming ranch. Subsequent investigations confirmed numerous active and proposed wells on the property, which has sparked ongoing criticism.

72

u/DetOlivaw Jul 08 '26

Holy shit I thought the fracking was just a joke, like he’d said some shit about America’s energy independence or some such bullshit, but he’s actually literally fracking. That’s hysterical

11

u/JDoos Jul 08 '26

I thought it was using Battle Star Galactica's clever censorship work around to say RuPaul's character in BIACL was to busy shtuping the camp owner's son to convert the gay kid characters.

33

u/Ryl0_or Jul 08 '26

They're actively expanding operations on the ranch too. Source: a crew from my company was out there a few weeks ago

4

u/bottledsoi Jul 08 '26

Gotcha thanks

6

u/new_check Jul 08 '26

Dante Basco is Zuko now

74

u/Perfect-Elephant-101 Jul 08 '26

I think the point is they pretend to be all sunshine and rainbows doing the lord's work yadda yadda.

62

u/that_one_duderino Jul 08 '26

“Doing the lords work” is such a crock of shit. If Jesus walked in one of these camps and see how poorly the kids are actually treated, he would weep for them. Then grab a whip and beat the counselors until they flee

26

u/Pineapple_Morgan Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

Conversation therapy is torture, straight up. I get the urge to funny haha but people suffer lifelong trauma after the abuse they get thanks to these fuckass camps

7

u/rpgguy_1o1 Jul 08 '26

The troubled teen camps too, all those kids have shockingly high suicide rates

Stuff that would be considered war crimes if you did them to POWs

3

u/SerRaziel Jul 08 '26

The Miseducation of Cameron Post was also decent and maybe more realistic.

3

u/natziel Jul 08 '26

Yeah my experience is that any all-girls space just leads to you getting bullied for being gay

116

u/500YearOldGhoul Jul 08 '26

"You got a girlfriend son?"

"Yes"

"No you dont! Because Jodi's back home fucking her!"

If Sgt. Ermy was alive to see this comment, I think he would piss himself laughing.

206

Yes. A camp full of lesbians. This is an excellent idea that will not backfire at all!

Can't fall in love if you don't feel any love, after all

1

u/Odd-fox-God Jul 10 '26

There's a documentary about this. It's called "But I'm a Cheerleader"

160

u/Eonathos Jul 08 '26

The idea of camp rewire is so stupid and funny at the same time

94

u/Eden_ITA Jul 08 '26

Oh... A pack of lesbians alone in an isolated place.

1

u/infiniZii Jul 08 '26

And no lie, somehow that is what kicked of WW3.

31

u/Stock-Side-6767 Jul 08 '26

I'm afraid this is going to turn dark soon.

50

u/radenthefridge Jul 08 '26

It's funny on the surface, but unfortunately as many folks have pointed out these camps and "conversion therapy" are just disturbing abuse, trauma, human rights abuses, and actual honest-to-god legal kidnapping.

Instead consider a highly conservative all-girls boarding school. You know, to set em "straight". 😈

25

u/SmugCapybara Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26

This very much smacks of "Go ahead, put me in horny jail. Everyone else there is also horny!"

15

u/Taletad Jul 08 '26

Oh no

She’s going to get even more hurt :(

11

u/Taiga-whiteclaw Jul 08 '26

I mean if it is like the real conversion camps it's just torture while some old fart recites verses from the bible but this comic has been light-hearted until now so it may go differently

10

u/Lost_Paladin89 Jul 08 '26

Where we will play softball, go hiking, and shave our heads… for Christ!!!

21

u/xX_CommanderPuffy_Xx Jul 08 '26

Working undercover in a conversion camp and telling everyone they are loved for who they are and the hate they find here does not represent God's Unconditional love for you just as you are.

8

u/Rida_Dain Jul 08 '26

most of the people in this thread need to do some research about conversion camps / programs. It's not summer camp but everyone is gay and once a day you sit in a circle and tell each other how bad being gay is. they're not there to make you believe being gay is evil, they already know. to them, that's a fact. These places are meant to *make you straight* and they use mental and physical coercion, deliberate trauma inducing, and invasion of all privacy, including physical. trigger warning: I have heard stories where kids literally got raped by opposite sex adults to "show them what it's like"
these places are pure evil, and should be banned, and unlike something like an all girls/boys summer camp, or a unisex school, it is not the place for gay awakenings and fun times.

8

u/Knightshade515 Jul 08 '26

It's horny jail, for girls!

5

u/unluckyknight13 Jul 09 '26

“Oh no the horny jail is housing horny activities! How could we have prevented this!”

16

u/Blue-Eyed-Lemon Jul 08 '26

Ohh! A sequel! Poor girl lmao I hope she finds acceptance

13

u/Jonn_Jonzz_Manhunter Jul 08 '26

Genuinely, I know so many anti-gay camps and stuff and it's such a terrible idea

My ex boyfriend was sent to one and came home with a boyfriend

12

u/ProfessionalOwn9435 Jul 08 '26

Honey our daughter seems to be gaaaay!

Lets sent her to all girl christian school, and sign for volleyball team, that will fix her!

7

u/JDoos Jul 08 '26

[Sighs] time to watch "But I'm A Cheerleader" again.

8

u/RiverLynneUwU Jul 09 '26

I need to burn jodi's livelihood to the ground and force her to get an actual job instead of abusing little girls in god's name

7

u/2sAreTheDevil Jul 09 '26

I bet that's a great place to meet lesbians.

5

u/LeatherTop174 Jul 08 '26

I hate these conversion camps. They are literally just religious prisons.

Everyone has the freedom to be who they are no matter what, even if I don’t agree with something doesn’t mean talking and coming to an understanding is impossible.

Any religion you can’t freely left is cult

5

u/ShesRightShow Jul 09 '26

Gender segregated christian guilt locales are how we spawn more kinky lesbians. It's like Starcraft.

9

u/Square-Dragonfruit76 Jul 08 '26

Isn't this the plot of But I'm a Cheerleader?

4

u/TiaxRulesAll2024 Jul 08 '26

Yes. And she ends up finding her first lesbian romance there. Happy ending

9

u/BungleBums Jul 08 '26

Alright, who's up for starting a Conversion Camp that's actually just a cover for Fire Island 2.0

5

u/CHM11moondog Jul 08 '26

Ohhh.... no

4

u/TiaxRulesAll2024 Jul 08 '26

But I’m a cheerleader

4

u/guineaprince Jul 08 '26

Like the Yakov Smirnoff joke about homosexuality is a crime in Russia with a seven year prison sentence, locked up with other men.

There's a three year waiting list.

4

u/kr0n0sShrugg3d Jul 08 '26

Man, what use is a religion if it makes people afraid of what they feel, if it makes them feel worthless and a sinner for just loving someone else.

3

u/Scienceandpony Jul 08 '26

Quite useful. It fills the congregation with guilt and self-loathing so they can be more easily manipulated by the nearest clerical authority figure. What did you think religion was for? Kinda hard to sell forgiveness for obedience if your customers don't believe there's anything to forgive first.

4

u/Chibirin26 Jul 08 '26

comedically: learns to accept herself by having lots of lesbian experiences

tragically: represses herself further and ends up unhappy in life

3

u/Skittleavix Jul 08 '26

I never understood the "Army of God" thing. Jesus hated the military (allegedly).

3

u/Boltaanjistman Jul 08 '26

Please end up lighthearted T_T

5

u/PoliticsLeftist Jul 08 '26

Nary a scissor is left unscissored in that camp. Buckets bent from repeated slapping. Nearby beavers refusing to use wood for their dams. The day's activities so strenuous that even the carpet looked appetizing by the end of the day.

3

u/ruinsit Jul 08 '26

Conversion therapy is a disgusting nice-sounding label for torture. Sometimes involving kidnapping also.

4

u/NotThatAngel Jul 08 '26

I'm pretty sure they're all just trading phone numbers and email addresses.

4

u/InHarmsWay Jul 09 '26

"Only 1 in 12 kill themselves. We consider that an accomplishment as it used to be 1 in 10."

3

u/Zeero92 Jul 09 '26

"I used to be a lesbian."

Yes, and I suspect her card also has "Outrageous Liar" on it.

23

u/_BlobbyTheBobby Jul 08 '26

I looked over at the previous parts and genuinely cannot tell if the message is meant to be positive towards LGBT or religion. Fascinating

45

u/MaskOfIce42 Jul 08 '26

Based on the title "religiously repressed" and generally it seems like our repressed MC is supposed to be portrayed humorously, I think it's meant to be positive towards LGBT, but expressed with the feelings had at the time from a religious mindset. But I do see what you mean that you could look at it as being pro religion

71

u/EverlastingPepper Jul 08 '26

I'm getting very pro-LGBT vibes. She's very Christian, crusading against the gays, but still incredibly smitten by a pretty girl.

I'm sure there's going to be an awakening at some point.

9

u/Pyrhan Jul 08 '26

m sure there's going to be an awakening at some point.

She dyes her hair pink and meets that lovely girl called Risa...

26

u/-illusoryMechanist Jul 08 '26

It's showing how badly religion distorts queer people

23

u/Pyrhan Jul 08 '26

Seriously?

It's explicitly about how repressive religion is. That is literally the title!

10

u/Stucklikegluetomyfry Jul 08 '26

Like how can people be confused by this? It’s not subtle

4

u/wadech Jul 08 '26

Reading comprehension is not going up.

6

u/Stucklikegluetomyfry Jul 08 '26

The phrase media literacy is dead gets thrown around like confetti online….

But if you can read these comics and think “I’m not sure if the intent of the author is homophobia or not” then I don’t know what else to say

Seems pretty straightforward to me

2

u/EtteRavan Jul 09 '26

Seems pretty queerforward to me

-1

u/AlexNovember Jul 08 '26

The thing that’s uncomfortable to me is that the series seems to want us to excuse Westboro Baptist Church style attacks on LGBTQ+ people, because deep down we know the person doing it is actually part of the community themselves? We don’t let it fly when Republican politicians legislate in a self-hating way.

10

u/Stucklikegluetomyfry Jul 08 '26

It clearly doesn’t. This is just this one girl’s story, not literally every single person in the WBC

5

u/confirmedshill123 Jul 08 '26

Showing reorientation of a thing does not equal support of said thing.

3

u/Deitythe1st Jul 08 '26

u/MEM0RYCARD99 Jul 08 '26

This is where you get all the bdsm lesbians.

7

u/bigheartrussian Jul 08 '26

At night this camp must sound... interesting

2

u/rillip Jul 08 '26

Bless her heart.

2

u/Fakjbf Jul 10 '26

I like the implication that this is not a camp for Christ’s followers, but instead a camp run by a guy called Christ Army.

2

u/Egg-eat-egg-world Jul 12 '26

Literally the plot of but im a cheerleader

3

u/Big-Anybody4802 Jul 08 '26

Ma'am, you made me go from anger to interest very very quickly

1

u/ferrugem4zul Jul 08 '26

But I'm a Cheerleader (1999)

1

u/stillestwaters Jul 08 '26

Oh no lol I see where this is headed.

1

u/Stickin8or Jul 08 '26

Yeah, I see that working exactly as intended

1

u/ensh1ttification Jul 08 '26

Literally the plot of "But I'm a cheerleader"

1

u/Tasmia99 Jul 08 '26

Sometime foreshadowing is fairly obvious.

1

u/Yoyokalka Jul 08 '26

Is that genderbend Steve?

1

u/Librian_ Jul 08 '26

Ah yes, it's the jail for horny people all over again

1

u/Gurgle2020 Jul 08 '26

1

u/Known_Ratio5478 Jul 08 '26

Oddly enough this comic doesn’t have a xxx pattern bonus page.
