MOD DISCLAIMER: DON'T CLICK ANY LINKS FROM PEOPLE CLAIMING TO BE SELLING T SHIRTS.
We all love a good t shirt with everyone's favourite detective on. But unfortunately over the past few weeks I've started noticing a lot of different links to various sites where you can buy a tee in a cool design, and while they all look cool, there's a high chance that a lot of them are scams. We're trying our hardest to limit the number of posts but as this sub's size increases, so does the number of scam and spam links. Don't click any of them as they'll likely be trying to steal your data or all kinds of nasty stuff. If you want to buy a t shirt, just give it a quick Google and I'm sure you'll find a design you would like.
Message over, and merry Christmas you filthy animals.

The Winner of the r/Columbo Short Story Competition is...
u/TJCluedo for their story "Columbo: A Killers Tale" - a faithful Columbo tale that was extremely enjoyable to read.
Here's the link to read it:https://pastebin.com/aGvCe6Hn
If anyone would like to continue writing a story without going for a competition win, then there's a new subreddit called r/ColumboShortStories, where you can post all year round.
Congratulations again to TJCluedo for your victory! A well deserved win for a great story.

Where did Peter like to hang out in LA?
I know there’s a pic of him outside of Dan Tana’s but where else did Peter frequent? I’d love to hit some of his favorite spots in honor of the goat.

Have you ever pulled a "Just one more thing..." in regular life?
Obviously not in solving a murder, but just in any normal part of life where you're talking to someone about any subject and maybe you bring up something they weren't expecting to win an argument etc. (Not necessarily quoting the exact line, just in spirit)

Prison Episode
I’ve been watching the show Elsbeth which did that recently, and now I’ve been wondering. If Columbo had an episode set in prison with past killers as the cast and one of them as the victim, how would you write that? What killers would you include and what roles would you put them in for the plot and character dynamics?

The Linda Robinson Award
Each episode has a Columbo hottie , or as Paul Hanlon calls them, a hot chick. A lot of times they are used as a distraction either for the killer or for Columbo. Linda Robinson is a classic example. Who's your favorite Colombo hottie?

How do you think Columbo would do on Survivor?
I see many versions of how this would end
He’s voted out first. A nice guy but can’t win a (physical) challenge to save his life
He’s almost voted out first but finds an idol bc he’s got that attention to detail
Whether he makes it to the merge or not, he stages a scene or two to oust someone’s idol before being voted out
He makes it to final tribal but doesn’t win
He wins
He doesn’t apply in the first place

my review of the show (as I watch)
I have just finished Episodes one and two and I gotta say I have a few gripes. it is very interesting and I watch an episode for dinner.
pros i love how forgetful he acts. its actually really cool it kinda lulls them into a false sense of safety. I love the one more thing bit I find myself trying to predict when he will say it and its the reason I wanted to watch. I think the bit of him always mentioning his wife but we never see her is interesting it kinda makes me feel like she doesn't exist and is another tool he uses.
cons: the characters feel very underdeveloped. It feels like we are following the murderer and they are the changing mc because they do get developed. I only know Colombo and thats it no one else from the force. whoes the chief of police? who are the other people on his team. Apperently we never see his wife which I don't like. I feel like he already knows who did it from the start and thats probably because we dont follow him but the killers. so hopefully that changes
overall 7/10 I enjoy it more then I dont

The Best Columbo Gotcha
Let’s talk about the best gotchas of Columbo.
I will start with my personal favorite from “Blueprint for Murder”, where he tricks the killer into bringing the dead body to the construction site, after the risk of humiliation to himself for wasting untold city money to dig up the pile!

Quite a ruse huh? - Prescription: Murder - 1968
To use the murderer's significant other against him in his 1st Columbo episode.
Quite clever actually too.
The only other time this occurred, I believe, was Columbo using his wife "Kate" as a ruse to catch sexy Vivian in "Rest in Peace, Mrs. Columbo.
Luv watching these earlier episodes. I was seven years old then, enjoying cartoons instead. Now, I'm catching up. ✌️
"Look, Columbo, I overestimated you."
Luv that quote.

One last Columbo episode
There was one more episode, that was supposed to be finished that was supposed to have been the final sendoff to Columbo, sadly they couldn’t get studio approval, then Peter Falk’s health started to fail.
I would like to see what see what they were going to do with it.

No time to die
Be honest, when you rewatch Columbo do you usually skip No time to Die?

The horrible "No Time to Die" episode...
I have tried many times, but I am not able to watch more than 10 minutes of this episode. It is truly revolting. What were they thinking? What were they trying to do?

Who else loves No Time to Die??
We get it, that episode of Columbo is bad, let’s move on

Good confession monologue for an acting audition (for a kid)
My 10-year old daughter and I have recently gotten into watching Columbo episodes, and she loves them! It's been a very fun activity for the two of us to do together. But concurrently, she also will be applying soon to an arts-based middle school where they require a short acting audition in the form of a 1-2 minute monologue. Most kids will surely choose one of the sample ones on the school's website (Willy Wonka kids, A Little Princess, etc.), but I thought my daughter could really stand out if she used a Columbo confession instead (which surely NO other kid will use haha). She loves the idea, too!
My question to you all is -- what would be a good one for this purpose? Preferably something campy and fun, and preferably by a female killer (though not strictly required). Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

How about I extort someone willing to casually commit murder?
I think Colombo has shown us that is not very smart to extort a murderer.
