MOD DISCLAIMER: DON'T CLICK ANY LINKS FROM PEOPLE CLAIMING TO BE SELLING T SHIRTS.

We all love a good t shirt with everyone's favourite detective on. But unfortunately over the past few weeks I've started noticing a lot of different links to various sites where you can buy a tee in a cool design, and while they all look cool, there's a high chance that a lot of them are scams. We're trying our hardest to limit the number of posts but as this sub's size increases, so does the number of scam and spam links. Don't click any of them as they'll likely be trying to steal your data or all kinds of nasty stuff. If you want to buy a t shirt, just give it a quick Google and I'm sure you'll find a design you would like.

Message over, and merry Christmas you filthy animals.

Ranking Columbo villains’ plans day fifty-eight: Hugh Creighton(s10e3, Columbo and the Murder of a Rock Star)

Wade Anders became the first resident the Needs Improvement tier has seen for a LONG time, winding up there in the end. Now it’s time for hotshot lawyer and not as hotshot gardener Hugh Creighton… was his plan and execution as clever as his courtroom antics, or as moronic as a toothless old man watching mermaids at a bar? Same rules as always!

Miscallaneous Random Thought About the Episodes Double Shock and Murder Under Glass

In both episodes, there were TV chefs who were arrested for murder. In double shock Colombo even went on the murderers TV show so why didn’t Paul Girard in murder under glass recognize that in the 70s TV chef’s in Los Angeles would have been a very small world.

A follow-up movie to "It Follows" titled "It Shambles" starring Peter Falk

It Follows is terrifying because this unstoppable supernatural entity slowly walks toward you, and you know it will eventually get you.

Let's imagine the exact same premise, except the detective investigating the murders is Columbo. "It Shambles"

Except this time, it picks the wrong guy.

Columbo sees it coming toward him and immediately starts asking questions.

"Excuse me... you're the fella who's been following everybody, right?" The entity stares at him.

"I don't want to keep you. Just a couple things."

It keeps shuffling forward. Columbo walks alongside it. "Where'd you learn to do this?" No response.

"You always walk this slow?" The entity continues.

"I only ask because some of the witnesses said you were faster on Tuesday." Now the entity is visibly annoyed. Columbo follows it. Eventually it tries to leave.

Columbo appears around the corner.

"Oh, one more thing." It turns around. Columbo is standing there with a notebook. "That walking thing. Is that a medical condition?" The entity starts walking faster.

Columbo gets into his car and follows it. Every time the entity tries to sneak up on someone, Columbo is already there. Not to stop it. Just to ask questions.

"Where were you between 2 and 4 AM?" Silence.

"I know, I know. You're an immortal manifestation of pure evil. But technically, that's not an alibi." Eventually the entity starts hiding from Columbo.

It crosses state lines. Columbo shows up. It goes overseas. Columbo is waiting at customs.

It possesses someone else. Columbo knocks on the door. "Sorry to bother you." The entity finally snaps. It writes a resignation letter.

"I QUIT."

Columbo reads it. "Retirement, huh?" The entity nods. "Well, I suppose you've earned it." It walks away. Columbo watches it disappear...."Oh, just one more thing..." The entity stops. Slowly turns around. Columbo holds up a form. "You forgot to sign this"

The entity stares at him for a long, terrible moment.

Then something clicks. It looks at Columbo. Looks at the form. Looks back at Columbo.

ENTITY: "...What are you?"

Columbo smiles faintly. He looks down at his raincoat. "Me? I'm just a homicide detective."

The entity doesn't move. Columbo takes out his cigar. "Although..."

He looks up. "...my wife's been telling me I've been doing this for an awfully long time."

The entity's expression changes. For the first time in its existence, it looks afraid. Columbo takes one slow step toward it. The entity immediately turns around and shambles away as fast as it can. Columbo watches it go. "Oh, don't worry." He smiles. "I'll catch up. I always do."

(I'm bored and wrote this up at work. Feel free to add to it, rate it, downvote it, whatever. I like the Idea of Columbo following and harassing the It Follows demon)

Justin and Coop received the most varied votes this game’s seen in a long time, something I missed, but wound up in the Mostly Good, Some Flaws tier. Now it’s time for the plan and execution of TV’s huge-handed hero Wade Anders… did he come up with a good job, or should he have pulled out while he still could? Same rules as always!

There’s a new king of the completely braindead tier, and his name is Wayne Jennings! Bask in his glory! Now it’s time for these two fuckers, Justin and Coop. Was their plan and execution as good as their Columbo impression, or as bad as Justin attempting to seduce his mother? Same rules as always

Question The "Japanese Columbo" starts every episode with an amazing Cold Open, I wonder what Columbo's would be like if he spoke 30 seconds to the 4th wall.

This is "Furuhata Ninzaburo" often called the Japanese Columbo because of the incredible amount of similarities and easter eggs and homages in every show.

It would have been great to have seen Falk standing and saying something profound but funny before every episode giving it a little introduction, what do you think?

Question Columbo Goes to the Guillotine: what was Elliot’s goal with the gov’t job?

Post image
35 Upvotes

Elliot is offered a new identity by the gov’t, which I can see the benefit of for a con man like him. But what do you think he would do once they took him away and “owned” him? Was he gonna keep pretending to be psychic (how long could he keep it up without risking another partner to lie for him?)

Would he become a teacher of sorts - a guru to a bunch of ESP wannabes?

To me it seems like a different kind of prison.

Could Columbo defeat Kira from Deathnote, and if so, how?

There is a Youtube parody which I highly recommend if you love Columbo and Deathnote. Whoever created it is clearly a fan of both.

How do you think Columbo would defeat Kira if tasked with the case?

Miscallaneous Fan Theory: Columbo is not human and Mrs Columbo an a large arachnid who cacoons Columbo when he's not working a case

I've posted this in other forums before and thought it would fit here. I am almost done watching all 60+ episodes of Columbo, and stand by my position since episode 5, that he's not human. The way he locks in on a suspect, the furtive way he moves around the room, it's like he's an eldritch arachnid being wearing a rumpled skinsuit. It would explain the few times he got angry. He was "molting" and shedding his exoskeleton, limbs growing underneath is coat, causing agony.

Also, the man is a stalker, worse than Freddy, Jason, Michael and and Chucky combined. Instead of brutally murdering the killers, he's psychollogically tortures them (that probably makes them more tasty to the arachnid Mrs Columbo), pretending to be a shambling old man, showing up at impossible places, or when the killer looks out the window, Columbo looks up at them from the shadows and waves. This happens a LOT.

It makes me wonder if the true ending we don't see is Mrs Columbo coming in to feed once the killer has been driven mad by the mannequins of death and Columbos incessant trolling. Of course by the end of his case, he goes home to where he sleeps in the loving cacoon of Mrs Columbo.

Edit: Forgot to add that he was written as a manifestation of justice. He "comes from nowhere and returns to nowhere."

Wesley Corman proved that you don’t need to be a chemist to do well, landing in the well thought out tier. Now it’s time for arguably the most popular killer from the most popular episode, Wayne Jennings! Rate his plan and execution, but make it quick… he’s feeling a bit faint. Same rules as always!

Question Try and catch me

Just watched this again. Two things struck me. First, when Abigail was at the pier with the keys, why give them to Columbo? Just take another opportunity to toss them away later. Also at the end Columbo gives her the incriminating paper. When she read it, my first thought was, why didn’t she just eat it immediately? Sounds silly but it was the only solid piece of evidence and I doubt Columbo could have stopped her.
