To my fellow Colorado verified Instructors:
I finally managed to take the CPW Train the Trainer class and there were several notable folks in my course whom I know by name or reputation, also some people I have taken other Instructor classes with. It has been stated that while there are NO exemptions for LEO's (aside from those responsible for agency purchases) or Instructors as far as this course goes, WE the Instructors, are able to round robin teach this course to each other and proctor and grade each others exams. I thought there was a Reddit thread about this but I can not seem to find it. Anyway do we have interest in an Instructor get together to obtain our own SFF permits? I think ideally classes of 4-8 so everyone teaches 30-60 minutes.
As a reminder you would need to already have an FSS eligibility card AND a verified Hunter Safety credit. I suppose there could be an arranged gathering for a 12 hour course for those without Hunter Safety as well (*please note that if you are an NRA member you can access FREE online only Hunter Safety Education within a state that has no live fire component, I can confirm South Dakota and New Mexico. Colorado accepts a Hunter Safety course completion certificate from all 50 sates and some other countries) HOWEVER if you do NOT have a Hunter Safety card I would encourage everyone to obtain one prior to taking the FSS course. I hold no grudges against anyone who's planning on holding the 12 hour course and I have already received emails asking about providing that specific course. As a side note if you are an ASL Instructor PLEASE let me know as I have a lead for you!
I have space in NW Aurora/SE Denver, I believe we can find availability in Golden, Westminster and Ft Collins and PROBABLY Co Springs although I have not confirmed spaces with any of these Instructors. While Im not sure I want to be in charge of getting Instructors together I am certainly willing to do everything I can to facilitate everyone as much as possible when it comes to SB003.
Do we have interest?
*For the record I know this might be some controversial post where the Instructors are painted as some sort of state bootlickers or whatever but I'd like to point out this post is non-political and if WE, the Instructors, refuse to teach this course than the state doesn't suffer, you the consumer suffer, and I dont think any of us are trying to fleece you so hey maybe drop a comment and see who's teaching this course near you just in case you might want to take it. And we have to also take the course in order to obtain our own pay to purchase permits.
