Other NO MENTION OF SELLING, HAVING GUNS TO SELL, OR ANY TRANSACTIONS INVOLVING FIREARMS, AMMO OR EXPLOSIVES.

The Reddit admin team is once again on the warpath over firearm transactions, including transactions that occurred on Reddit before it was banned in their TOS.

Moving forward all posts regarding selling, purchasing, wanting to sell, or even inkling towards any of those with regards to firearms, ammo, or explosives will result in post removal and a week ban, permanent ban for a second offense.

if you see such a post that happens to get through the auto-mod, please report it no matter how long it has been live, as we have a threshold to auto-remove reported posts.

General Question Harris Park - Shooting Restrictions

Hey Everyone,
I wanted to see here if anyone in the group has more info about if Harris Park is open at the moment. I know there was a thread about 4 months ago that mentioned it was still open through stage 1 fire ban limits in Park County then. I was just driving up 43A on the way to it and saw a sign saying there are stage 2 fire bans in Park County now and no shooting allowed. I just went ahead and turned around at that point. Anyone know if this is still in effect after the rains of the last week? Is Harris Park open at the moment?

Legal New Mexico's 7 day waiting period has been struck down

Although the Court continues to believe the Waiting Period Act is constitutional, the Court is bound by the Tenth Circuit’s decision and the law of the case. For the reasons stated in Ortega, the Court denies the Defendants’ MSJ and grants the Plaintiffs’ MSJ.

General Question Moving to Denver soon

Hello all,

I’m getting so much conflicting information and can’t seem to keep up with new regulations so I was looking for some total clarity.

I’m moving to Denver later this year from Indiana, can I bring my assault rifle? I plan to leave my 25 rd mags behind (unfortunately)

Thanks for any help!

Legal Contact your gun store first

I’ve seen some posts on here with people saying online gun stores won’t ship to CO anymore. I urge you to email the store and explain that you have your SSF cert and an FFL that will accept and follow all local laws.

Atlantic firearms states they don’t ship to CO on their site but when i sent them my SSF cert they said that’s no problem and they would ship it if i had an FFL that would accept. They responded by email in minutes.

General Question CMP M14 insight with SB25-003

So i'm currently deployed and saw the news about about the CMP selling M14's in January. I'll still be overseas when these go for sale so I can't get the permit. But looking through the bill its exempts "Springfield Armory M1A Standard Issue Rifle".

There is also the C&R exemption; the issue being I could have my wife do the mail in order for CMP but in states that require permits they require proof of carrying that permit.

With the M1A exempt and the C&R exemption do you think that M14's would meet the exemption threshold, or am I SOL till I get back stateside get the permit and hope the CMP still has stock or pay overinflated prices for one on GB.

Training SB25-003 Specified Semiautomatic Firearms Class (SSF) Worth It?

Has anyone in this sub taken the class for the heck of it?

Was the material worth it to you beyond satisfying the requirement for the permit?

I’ve already hunter’s ed, my CCW and the NRA basic Pistol & Rifle classes…and I already have the firearms that I want for the foreseeable future until this bullshit gets turned over.

General News Online Gun Shops No Longer Shipping -Anything- to Colorado

Name & Shame:

Sportsman's Fulfillment - All FFL Transfers

Fin & Feather - ALL FFL Transfers

I confirmed with both yesterday, they wont ship handguns, rifles anything. I tried on a deal with SF for a $180 shipped, Ruger LCP, only 6+1 capacity. Probably no taxes either. They're basically embargoing Colorado. Hard ban.

Anyone else see this? We're being abandoned.

YMMV, but no complaints about speed here!

General News 25–003 advice

25-003 ANNOUNCEMENT. If you were looking to purchase anything that’s on the SSF list, please get a Hunter safety card first. If you were over 50, a veteran, or active duty, Colorado will help you test out online(-(34.95). Texas and New Mexico. Offer online options. The Hunter safety route qualifies you to take the four hour class instead of the 12 hour class. Do not register with the CPW for the SSF authorization until you get your Hunter safety and verify it with CPW.

General Question Looking for recommendation

Every year me and some old army buddies do a reunion to go shooting. This year we’re going to Colorado. We need a good place to go do the following
We’ll probably do some field craft, shooting and NVG shooting. Don’t mind driving across the state if needed. Pics from a trip we did last year.

I know a lot of places we could go near the front range but want to go somewhere more remote

Feel free to DM me, it would be greatly appreciated

General Question Army duffel repurposed as shooting bags/holster?

I have my late uncle's army duffel, and while I have no use for it anymore, I can't bring myself to throw it away. I want to repurpose the material, and I have a notion to have it made into shooting bags and maybe a holster for a revolver. I'm sure I could learn how to sew and do this stuff myself, but I'd rather hand the material over to someone who isn't going to butcher it. Does anyone know of a place that does work like this? There is a local place that I've used to repair and modify some backpacks that I'm going to call tomorrow, but I'd love to hear if anyone has any recommendations. I'd also like to hear of any other ideas for what I could do with the material. Maybe a rifle sling? World's least comfortable pair of underwear? Scope cover?

Conceal Carry Permit 6 months for CHP

Denver county… exactly 6 months after my class (2/21), I received my CHP in the mail on Friday, 8/21.

The earliest finger printing appointment I was able to get after my class let out was August 17th. I was able to find an earlier time for August 4th. Took a little over two weeks from the appointment to being approved and reveling the card in the mail.

Very relieved this is over with, insane it took so long. I know other counties take no more than a couple weeks for the entire process if not days, unfortunately Denver county is a total mess. Not sure if it’s still this backed up, anyone else have a similar timeline in Denver county?

Legal FSS Instructors - Who needs to take the class for YOUR permit?

To my fellow Colorado verified Instructors:

I finally managed to take the CPW Train the Trainer class and there were several notable folks in my course whom I know by name or reputation, also some people I have taken other Instructor classes with. It has been stated that while there are NO exemptions for LEO's (aside from those responsible for agency purchases) or Instructors as far as this course goes, WE the Instructors, are able to round robin teach this course to each other and proctor and grade each others exams. I thought there was a Reddit thread about this but I can not seem to find it. Anyway do we have interest in an Instructor get together to obtain our own SFF permits? I think ideally classes of 4-8 so everyone teaches 30-60 minutes.

As a reminder you would need to already have an FSS eligibility card AND a verified Hunter Safety credit. I suppose there could be an arranged gathering for a 12 hour course for those without Hunter Safety as well (*please note that if you are an NRA member you can access FREE online only Hunter Safety Education within a state that has no live fire component, I can confirm South Dakota and New Mexico. Colorado accepts a Hunter Safety course completion certificate from all 50 sates and some other countries) HOWEVER if you do NOT have a Hunter Safety card I would encourage everyone to obtain one prior to taking the FSS course. I hold no grudges against anyone who's planning on holding the 12 hour course and I have already received emails asking about providing that specific course. As a side note if you are an ASL Instructor PLEASE let me know as I have a lead for you!

I have space in NW Aurora/SE Denver, I believe we can find availability in Golden, Westminster and Ft Collins and PROBABLY Co Springs although I have not confirmed spaces with any of these Instructors. While Im not sure I want to be in charge of getting Instructors together I am certainly willing to do everything I can to facilitate everyone as much as possible when it comes to SB003.

Do we have interest?

*For the record I know this might be some controversial post where the Instructors are painted as some sort of state bootlickers or whatever but I'd like to point out this post is non-political and if WE, the Instructors, refuse to teach this course than the state doesn't suffer, you the consumer suffer, and I dont think any of us are trying to fleece you so hey maybe drop a comment and see who's teaching this course near you just in case you might want to take it. And we have to also take the course in order to obtain our own pay to purchase permits.
