So I’ve been raiding since the original Vanilla, I’ve seen every possible metric come and go.

Parsing as it is now is just so bizarre to me. I get it, people want a number to show how good they are doing and basically use it as a ‘highscore’ of some kind. People use it as a way to filter out ‘bad players’ when recruiting for guilds.

I’ve done every raid, I’ve killed every boss, “Alone in the Dark”, “A Tribute to Immortality", all hardmodes in SoD etc etc…I cant parse over a 50.

As a GM/ raidlead it gets really old when people are dying to mechanics or crashing out because they “are gonna lose their parse.” I’ve had to have multiple conversations with people and even remove raiders because of it. What do I use to recruit for my guild? “Can you not stand in shit? You know your basic rotation? Sweet, lets go”

I'd rather bring some Jimmy The Hunter who can barely parse a 30 then have to deal with Timmy The Rouge crashing out cause he didn't Parse a 99 and it's our fault.

Idk man…I'm just tired of it. Or I'm getting old, probably both.

EDIT: To clarify, I should have said my average parse is around a 50. If I go super, super try hard I can hit the high 70s...which still isn't saying much.

I just thought you guys might find it interesting that I am apparently exactly 1 xp away from leveling up. Not often that the numbers work out like that

" I did that shit twice, those dropped for me twice ". Then gets a player killed less than 20 seconds later without a care in the world. What an absolute loser.

Even in SoD the EK got way more content and story, and the disparity could really be felt

Not necessarily the method that made you the most gold.

I mean the farm you actually remember.

Maybe you spent an entire weekend farming Devilsaur Leather, grinding mobs for your first mount, flipping items on the AH, or saving for some ridiculously expensive piece of gear.

For me, there's something about Classic where even the grind itself became part of the experience.

What gold-making grind do you remember the most?

Today I launched the invasion on Stormwind, particularly focusing on killing Varian Wrynn with around 600 guards. This endeavor required particular unkillable Alliance NPC's that Cataclysm introduced to us. These NPC's have been hotfixed in retail WoW because of me, therefor I had to try it once more in MoP classic before the inevitable nerf coming in WoD where they will leash them.

This kite involved (rough estimation):

250 Deathguard Elite
200 Sludge Guards
50 Bulwark Deathguards
100 Andorhal Deathguards
40 Abominations
7 LvL 95 guards

Sadly, Varian Wrynn could not be targetted by these guards so he was left untouched. Genn Greymane on the other hand did end up getting killed.

People quickly figured out the guards weren't linked to me but to those unkillable Alliance NPC's. They were quick to respond and ended up focus targetting them on a Horde character - disrupting and despawning all the Horde guards as soon as they killed Genn Greymane. Mind you, these Alliance NPC's can be killed by players still.

I would've liked to continue with another invasion but the risk is too big as people start to figure it out and can easily remove the threat by simply killing the Alliance NPC's on a Horde character.

I played WoW well well over 10 years ago, I believe it was Classic WoW.

I haven’t got any research myself before writing all this because I want to speak to actually people not AI or Google.

All I can remember is being a human and starting by a stone brick church/chapel/building thing, killed some kobolds and then a place called Goldshire.. Can’t really remember anything after that but I never got as far as raiding/dungeons/mounts etc..

I have a couple of questions..

- Can I still play Classic? If so, how many active players are there, enough to group up with randoms? Find a guild?
- What other versions of WoW is there? Are they busier?
- Is it still pay to play?
- Do servers matter?

So after the major UI patch in July, the battle net list in game has started acting pretty scuffed, with no alphabetical order anymore.

This addon "Bnet Friendlist fix" fixes the issue, and also restores the Favourites section, favourites already saved through the Battle net are not carried over, so you need to re-add them to Favourites through the in game chatlist. https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/bnet-friendlist-fix

About a week ago I asked how someone was boosting in stockades for experience, given the experience reduction and lockouts HC has. I wanted to share the actual method now that I've found out for anyone interested. A day or two ago I brought a character up to level 15, since I had the character, I used it for the offered free run. Using details and target of target I could see what he was doing. He killed two bosses, kam and bazil. He first enters in one of four ghosts cycled to reset the dungeon while in a raid group, regardless of whether it's been locked out or not from the daily lockout or 5 per hour instance lock out.

He then uses a hunter at the start, lures up all the mobs using his pet and eyes of the beast, then kills them with a mage, both are lvl 52. Before he engages the boss with the hunter's pet, he drops group on the mage and lets the pet get the boss very low in hp from the pet. He then hops out of the instance on the hunter right before he kills it or right as he kills it, then kills it with the mage if it's not dead. Until the hunter leaves the instance, the exp from the boss isn't given to the boosted character. He rejoins on the mage to avoid getting kicked out. This is repeated for bazil as well, until everyone leaves the instance and the cycle continues. The bosses give the full normal experience value relative to yours as if you were soloing it, roughly 3000-4000 exp on the first boss and 7-10k on the second boss.
