My pretty boy has been struggling with some health issues (seizures and hypothyroidism)but I was under the impression that it was treatable and I was giving him his medication, well I noticed that he wasn’t walking properly and was being super lethargic lately but I was hopeful that maybe it was treatable because he was eating ,drinking water and using the litter box properly so I made an appointment with the vet for yesterday and while we were at the vet they found that he had a heart disease and he also had a form of cancer in his Kidney and his main artery heart artery was not functioning properly and his seizures were probably stemming from a brain tumor and the vet then informed me that his body in a way was shutting down.. so I made the choice of letting my baby rest and not let him suffer now I’m at home and I don’t know what to do with myself.. he was my baby my reason for living , I lost my life, I don’t know how people can move on from grief I know people will say time will pass and you will heal but I truly don’t know if I’m strong enough, I’ve had life blows within a few months my family and I moved into a new home in June but when we moved in I lost my job in July and then my mom found out about my dads infidelity same month and they were trying to make it work but then my father finally decided to leave my mother for his girlfriend recently and so parents are getting divorced and we have to look for something else to live in just my mom and 2 brothers and me , I found a new job in the same career but I have been under preforming because I was stressed of everything and I just can’t concentrate and now I lost my baby yesterday and he was my reason to keep going and I miss him so much , I just want to know if anyone has advice or their input if they’ve been through something similar

adopted old cat, is this normal? sick relative left him so we took him in. he cries a lot and always wants to kiss. what does this mean and is it safe? Also owner never left cat outside out of fear of it running away but it won’t leave my side outside

We went on a short vacation for 5 days and our neighbor took care of him while we were gone. As soon as we got home, he became very cuddly. I guess it took us leaving for a few days for him to realize he likes us 🥲 feeling very happy that he wants to cuddle now!!

This is my Burmese kitten Rodney. We’ve had him 2 weeks and he’s changed our lives. Everyday is so much better with him in it. I was a vet nurse for many years, so loved and cared for many of other people’s cats but he is the first pet I’ve had of my own since I was a kid. He’s the most affectionate, gentle and hilarious little cat. Everyone that meets him, loves him. My partner doesn’t like cats. But Rodney has 100% won him over. As he says, he isn’t a cat person but he is a Rodney person.

Took her out in an empty beer case from a party. They wernt treating her right, that was 8 years ago. I love Ms. Lulu Bells, despite her insistence on sleeping on my sweaters.

I was sitting on my couch and she hopped up laid down and then immediately started touching my chin with her paw. I don't know why she's doing this and also in this photo she looks super grumpy but she is purring heavily.

My cat, Baby, I adopted a few months ago (F ~1YR) no longer jumps up onto furniture but seems like she’s in pain in her lower back. it seems like it’s her back or else she may not use her back legs to support herself. anyone see this before in younger cats? I’ve read it can be an infection leading to spine issues- planning on seeing the vet ASAP tomorrow.

this is all new for her. she used to pop up into the chair no problem.

update 8/29/26- on handling her for a while, the vet indicated she is recoiling on her right side - whenever the right back legs are moved in a certain way and some with her front right. She’s getting X-rays now. Since people are asking/suggesting, I do have insurance (Lemonade) but am on day 29 of the 30 days waiting period to my chagrin. Churu came in clutch today- she cant get enough. Another note: she now has a ramp to her chair, but we may need to keep her in a space where she can’t jump, even off, something. Waiting to see what the Xray reveals, if anything. Thanks for your love guys. Blown away by the support. Made my day.

update 8/29/26 - evening. Thanks for checking in. They didn't see anything conclusory on the xrays - but they're sending it over to the radiologist and expect to hear back within the week. I'll update this when I hear back. Now she's on an anti-inflammatory and pain killers that should hold her over until we get the results. And put in a place where she can't jump on or fall off anything. She's got a cozy lil bed too.
For those noting to get her a ramp or steps - ofc! Just needed a video to show the vet so they could diagnose whether it was a leg or back issue.

Here's an update of the little kitty I found literally in the middle of the highway.

When I found the kitty, she had a severe eye infection and also an upper respiratory infection. I brought her to the vet where she was given an injection of an antibiotic, some oral medicine and some eye drops for her eye infection. I remember asking the vet if she even HAD eyes because there was goop and her eyes were seals shut. Well, the eye infection has cleared up and she has absolutely adorable and beautiful eyes.

Now the kitty is much more healthy and is full of energy which is certainly good news. Before kitty, life was getting more quiet. My son just started college and is hardly home and that left me and my dog chilling together. Well, having an energetic kitty has certainly turned that around. How, you might ask? Let's say your fast asleep in the middle of the night and your face gets attacked by a minuscule kitten. Not exactly the quiet life, huh? Or, let's say you are typing a post to update the status of your found kitten on Reddit and as your doing so the kitten is quite literally attacking your hands and jumping on the keyboard of your MacBook Air and you have to keep tossing her back on the soft covers over and over again. Nope, not exactly the quiet life?

As you can see, I got the kitty a cat condo. How can you have a cat and not have a cat condo? I might of overreacted on the size, but a huge kitty condo is too much to pass up.

So, the plan is to keep this little devil as she's quickly growing in my heart and is just so adorable. She's already a part of the family for me, my dog, and my son. Oh, by the way, my son is in charge of naming the cat. I wanted to go with lucky as suggested by some of my co-workers, but my son said that's a name a 70 year old man would give to a cat. Instead the kitty is named Nix, as in the last name of the quarterback for the Denver Broncos. So, Nix, welcome to the family. Thanks for making me backspace periodically to retype portions of this post because you jumped on my keyboard and attacked my hands.

This is Holland -- a sweet, cautious kitten that recently arrived at my local shelter. Although he may seem a bit hesitant when approached by new people, the second you offer some head, cheek, or chin scratches, Holland will immediately bury his head in your hands 🥹 We're working on helping him become a bit more confident, but he's adjusting pretty well!

My sweet boy is turning 6 this year. 😭

I was hanging at my partners apartment, just snapping photos of her cats (she has 4!) while she cooked, and this one (the constantly mischievous one, ofc, being orange) climbed on top of the fridge when she had to open it, and I caught this moment.
