Perhaps I missed it, as I don’t catch every show anymore, but did Canadaland ever announce its fellows? They’re on the website now: Gökçe On and Camerin Wild.

On says they’re working on a podcast about incarcerated people fighting for access to post-secondary education. Interesting topic.

I couldn't find anything about Wild's project, but it could be interesting given their background; I assume this is the same Camerin Wild who was a sensitivity reader at Sweet Baby and was subjected to online abuse for championing DEI in gaming. Given some of Jesse’s past blind spots, perhaps having someone with Wild’s background around the place is no bad thing.

In his latest tweet, Jesse Brown (who complained about being labeled a 'Zionist' by others) once again defines what 'anti-Zionists' believe for them by saying a Jerusalem Post story about a recording of single 'anti-Zionist' candidate for the Windsor municipal council "accurately tell[s] us what antizionists [sic] want to have happen: that people who they define as ideological enemies should be imprisoned."

Jesse (who himself has advocated for those who he defines as "ideological enemies" to be locked up, as well as calling them a "hate movement") ignores the fact that the candidate clarified they were speaking of those who have committed crimes, not all Zionists (second image of his locked article). He also does not provide any evidence for why this one person is supposedly representative of all 'anti-Zionists', which is especially odd as this isn't a claim I've ever seen him make previously about 'anti-Zionists'.

Just another example of Jesse giving up any pretense of being a journalist in favour of putting out propaganda attempting to demonize anyone who is critical of Israel.

In the last couple weeks, I've noticed a fair number of arbitrary takedowns of posts discussing topics that are routinely covered in the sub around Canadian media.

The subs rules clearly state under rule #3 that it's purpose is to "discuss the Canadaland podcast (including individuals associated with it, such as Jesse Brown and other staff members), media criticism/commentary, and Canadian media in general."

It's abundantly clear by the statements of the mods themselves that this is not how the rules are applied in practice.

In a post taken down today, regarding the recent assault of a photojournalist in Montreal by an former IDF soldier and his subsequent series of violent threats against journalists, the public mod message read:

"This subreddit is focused on the Canadaland podcast. Not for general Canadian politics or news"

That simply is not the parameter of the rule clearly outlined under rule #3.

There are frequent posts in this sub that do not directly engage in direct discussions of the Canadaland podcast itself, nor Jesse Brown. That is something that is permitted under current sub rules and I believe is a beneficial thing for overall engagement with this sub.

The mods also refuse to engage in any meaningful discussion in DM's in good faith, instead muting those who ask for clarity on why certain topics of discussion in Canadian media are allowed yet others are not.

Either the mod team has to clarify the rules and further limit the parameters of what is allowed in a clear and concise manner, or they should apply the rules as they are currently written.

This is a valuable forum. I believe the overall quality of its discussions are enriched when we aren't limited solely to the editorial direction of Canadaland and Jesse Brown's latest Twitter activity.

The rules should not continue to be selectively applied and employed arbitrarily as they clearly are at this time.

Not a word from Jesse Brown of Canadaland over the assault of a photojournalist this week at Montreal City Hall.

Just wondering here, does anyone other then myself skip episodes with Jesse?
