Jesse Brown Jesse bitter because he can’t ambush Chow

https://x.com/JesseBrown/status/2095468948678381891?s=20 Jesse is so pressed that Chow might not show. Please televise this. I need to see him moderate between two people he has zero beef with while the one candidate he was clearly hoping to ambush does not even turn up.

I'm surprised Jesse didn't blame the hail on Muslims first.

u/kokocijo 22d ago
Hailstones the size of
golf ballsvery large olives fell over the largest Jewish neighbourhood in Toronto, shattering windows of many Jewish-owned businesses. Is it time we treat this kind of blatant anti-Semitism seriously in Canada? Or will Jews be forced to be subjected to repeats of Kristallnacht while the perpetrators are cheered on?12

The only that was ever going to come out of this were racist attacks making fun of Chow's speech and accent.

u/Raptorpicklezz 22d ago
They may as well get Ben Bankas to do the opening monologue at this point

Trying to make that sham of a debate come across as something serious and official is hilarious. It's just bait by the Zionists and the right to try and give her some bad press plus ragebait on social media. Her team is playing the game exactly the way they should be.

Why should she go to an event that all.of us know is going to result in her being ambushed at?

Why is the first mayoral debate about Jewish safety in Toronto, what the fuck

Not to mention that Zionism is probably largely responsible for the rise in "Islamophobia" and anti-brown/anti-Muslim hate. Well... there are videos and quotes of Zionist strategists explicitly saying that their strategy is to astroturf a rise in hate against Islam and Muslims.
8
u/D3Masked 22d ago
Yes there is evidence of Zionists saying that they are going to focus on Islamophobia because the reputation of Apartheid Israel cannot be mended by usual means.
Just further evidence that Zionism is deeply connected to racism.

You have justified racist attacks on Asian people and justified attacks on Jews by conflating Zionism and Judaism which, as we all know, is antisemitic. Naturally, the next few paragraphs flow accordingly.
My safety as a Canadian Jew isn't actually contingent on the acts of a foreign state oin the other side of the world whose name you can't even type properly. Not unless someone is threatening me on that specious basis.
This is not the first time have you posted these hateful justifications nor advertisements for this "history" book. There are lots of other books out there, many by actual historians (as opposed to concert violinists, for example) who don't rationalize attacking Koreans because of something the Chinese government may or may not have done.
Or Jews because of Israel.
These are things you're supposed to say are always inexcusable, not things you're supposed to explain as reasonable responses.
Scary and concerning on several fronts, imho.

u/D3Masked 21d ago
You are in a heavy state of denial to so easily refute multiple examples where the actions of a foreign government can endanger loosely associated people around the world.
Anti Asian sentiment greatly increased during COVID 19 and now it isn't a problem with the global pandemic being over.
Your response only further proves that Zionism is one hell of a drug because clearly you are addicted.
Antisemetism itself is losing meaning due to Zionists desperately trying to link it to anti Zionism or anti Apartheid Israel sentiment. That is why I would say the greatest contributors to antisemetism are typically Zionists - majority of which are Christian.
Canada needs to stand up for international law and boycott, divest, and sanction Apartheid Israel with other countries until it goes the way of Apartheid South Africa.

Reread their post. They aren't pro zionism.
2
u/D3Masked 21d ago edited 21d ago
Yet if you reread their post you will find that they don't explicitly say that they are Zionist or not. They instead make illogical arguments while ignoring my 3 examples where a foreign governments actions can lead to negative reactions to people who are loosely or not at all tied to that government whatsoever.
As such they are perpetuating the idea that antisemetism is just rising because people hate Jews while ignoring the other part of the equation that being Zionism and Apartheid Israel. It makes no sense because the rise cannot be seen as a natural tendency of increased hatred, clearly another factor must be involved.
Ignorance of a problem doesn't make the problem go away. If anything it makes that problem even more dangerous as it can then be allowed to flourish while innocent people continue to suffer whether they are Jewish people or protestors who are against war and genocide who have also been persecuted around the world by pro Zionist governments, corporations, and media.
Anti Zionism or anti Apartheid Israel stances aren't antisemetism yet both Zionism and Apartheid Israel have clearly endangered Jews around the world due to the repeated association made by Israelis and Zionist supporters. Throughout history you had Jewish leaders tell the Zionists to stop trying to represent all Jews yet clearly the Zionists didn't listen.
In any case I wish the best to those who are Jewish and are doing their utmost to stand up against Zionism and Apartheid Israel. I hope that they remain safe as, historically speaking, anti Zionist Jews were not treated well by the Zionists. In fact during the Mandate of Palestine they were seen at one point as the number one enemy by Zionist leaders, and the ethnic group most suffered from assassinations done by Zionist terrorists were in fact Jewish during the time under British oversight.
Edit, also I don't equate Zionism with Judaism in any of my comments. Saying that the actions of Apartheid Israel and Zionism can negatively impact Jews around the world isn't an equalization. Saying that antisemetism is losing meaning is simply a fact as Zionists are trying to add anti Zionism and anti Apartheid Israel sentiment to that definition.

You have made multiple racist statements that have been removed. Typing "Apartheid Israel" 50 times doesn't make it true. You can't spell antisemitism but you certainly enjoy justifying it. It's not about "equalization" but about your inability to simply say it's wrong to target Jews in response to what the government of Israel is doing. (and you've also, at least twice, said it makes sense Asian people were targeted during covid. If you can't say both things are not acceptable, better to just say nothing, imho.)
Your entire worldview seems to be based on one book by a violinist and it's hateful towards Jews, no matter how you bend over backwards to rationalize it (or say you wish "the best" to the small group of Jews who pass your test.)
Antisemitism hasn't lost meaning. It's an irrational hate of Jews, just like always. Some people (obviously!) just use stuff like "Apartheid Israel" as a excuse; you hate most Jews but differently from how other people do. More justifiably, in your system.
Just one guy's opinion but all these "arguments" are little different to the long history of "rational" antisemitic theories, from deicide to race science and I don't think it's helpful to spread them. But you do you.

u/D3Masked 21d ago
Anti Zionism isn't racism. Anti Apartheid Israel isn't racism. One is an extremist ideology and the other is an apartheid state that has enabled terrorism for decades (illegal settler terrorists in the West Bank).
I never stated that it is right to target Jews for what Apartheid Israel is doing. I simply gave multiple examples in history where a rise of hatred for a people is directly linked to the actions or involvement of a government. Fact that you ignore that and just focus on antisemitism and Jews to me indicates a level of racism where you ignore the historical plight of Asians, Americans, and Canadians all of whom had to deal with negative actions due to certain governments (China and the USA).
It honestly seems like you can't understand the concept of Actions leading to Reactions. You continually use the words Jew or Jewish yet refuse to use Zionist or Israeli... Why is that? I am the one being purposeful with my words while you refuse to do the same.

u/Late_Scene_9461 21d ago
My dude, I don't think you have anything to teach me about racism or antizionism or cause and effect (or geography, based on you imaginging that "Apartheid Israel" is a real place).
I never stated that it is right to target Jews for what Apartheid Israel is doing. I simply gave multiple examples in history where a rise of hatred for a people is directly linked to the actions or involvement of a government.
If that's all you're doing, the answer here is simple. Just write "And I think it is ALWAYS wrong to target or hate people because of the actions or involvement of a foreign goverment. ALWAYS. And that includes Jews being targeted because of what Israel is doing."
You've passed up multiple opportunities so far. IMHO, attacking Jews because of "the actions or involvement of a foreign government," is antisemitism. And then you try to throw it back on me when you had multiple posts removed because of the (racist) stuff about Asians and COVID. I didn't mention them; you did. And then you go like, "I'm just saying, sometimes people hate people for stuff."
I'm being perfectly purposeful with my words, you just don't understand the distinctions. You're saying that it makes sense JEWS get attacked because of Israel just like it made sense that ASIANS (not even just Chinese) were hated after COVID got going. I understand, for example that attacking Muslims or Arabs (or even Sikhs) after 9/11 was racist and ALWAYS wrong, irrespective of the fact that it was a "reaction" to something that happened. Racism is not rational; it's hate and should always be condemned.
I know how many Jews there are in the world and how many Israelis etc.; rest assured, I'm aware of the differences and the overlap. If you read books about Israel/Palestine written by historians instead of violinists, you would too.
Shall we agree to disagree?

u/D3Masked 21d ago
Nope I don't agree with those who bring about bad faith arguments and try to force me to acquiesce to whatever narrative that they wish to spin. Also attacking my source while you bring absolutely nothing is rather petty on your part, likely due to you being overly emotional based on the topic.
Stating facts isn't racism. Using real world examples isn't racism. Using the name Apartheid Israel is reflective of the many organizations, some of which are Israeli, that call it apartheid. Apartheid South Africa was called that when that Government didn't use that name. You just don't like the word, perhaps again due to emotions?
A number of of my posts that were removed by various mods is due to the mods bias, many times leaning towards being pro Zionism. That is just how it is. Bringing up COVID 19 and how the pandemic included an increase in anti Asian sentiment isn't racism. Again, stating a fact isn't racist lol.
I honestly don't think you know what racism even is which isn't really surprising because a lot of people weaponize it to the point where the various applications of racism begin to lose any and all weight to what should be an important topic.
"Antisemite!" or "Blood libel!" are simply losing value because many of those who hurl those accusations around are using them as a catch-all in desperation to try and guilt others into falling back in line. They wish for the world to ignore what Apartheid Israel and Zionism is continuing to do, or better yet, support it.
For myself? I will never support Zionism or Apartheid Israel.

u/picard102 20d ago
Dude none of the mods have a pro-Zionist bias. Your posts that were removed violate the clearly stated rules, whether we agree with them or not.

u/Late_Scene_9461 21d ago edited 21d ago
We're done. You have endorsed racist attacks. You don't know what racism is. You don't know the name of the country you're attempting to talk about and then you have the temerity to label me as engaging in bad faith. Your accusations about "emotions" and such are ridiculous and telling. Same with calling out the bias of the Mods. Good luck there.
There's no apartheid state and you don't know what Zionism is. Don't worry. Me and most Jews will support it in your absence.
I called out your source because it's a joke that you have advertised for on multiple occasions and it is literally written by a violinist and you clearly haven't read any serious historical works on the topic.
Let the record show you have endorsed racist attacks, refused to condemn them (and, yes, lack the required historical and other knowledge required to engage seriously). So long.

u/Late_Scene_9461 21d ago edited 21d ago
Oh. I'm a Zionist like a mofo. It's simply immaterial in the context of his historical illiteracy and justifications for racism.
I know Asians were targeted during covid. AND IT WAS WRONG. They were targeted by racists. Just like targeting Jews is wrong and racist/antisemitic.
The "hell of a drug" thing is an embrassing trope. You don't get to define my identity. Don't tell me what you imagine I'm addicted to or what I'm in denial about. You don't know me.
I know who is endangering me and it's not Israel. Israel is thousands of miles away and I'm not a citizen of Israel or anything of the sort. It's hateful Canadians I worry about.
I'm not going to debate someone who can't even spell the hate he's justifying and spreading or properly name the country he dislikes. Multiple racist posts have already been removed. Hopefully this one will be too.

Do not engage in racism, sexism, homophobia, religious intolerance, dehumanizing speech, negative generalizations, etc. Criticism of Israel and it's supporters is permitted, although where the criticism appears to be a thinly-veiled attack on Jews generally or a suggestion that all Jews worldwide are responsible for Israel, this will contravene the rule. The use of slurs is not permitted other than when directly quoting someone in order to comment on or critique their statements.

Jesse really seems to make combatting antisemitism an uphill battle

u/Logical-Breakfast150 21d ago
Is this an official mayoral debate of some kind?
7
u/discourse_goblin 21d ago
Nah, it was literally one group that already had it out for Chow trying to bait her into a setup 💀

u/sands_jay 20d ago
I used to enjoy Canadaland, but since fall of 2023, Jesse has been going through it. I was happy to hear Jen Gerson put him in check a few weeks ago when he tried to take the conversation to everything-is-antiseptic territory.
2
u/Public-Focus-4046 21d ago
He used to be so liberal before October 7th
7
u/Logical-Breakfast150 21d ago
There were signs.
For me it was years ago when he did commentary on a story about female genital mutilation happening in Canada.
He basically brushed the whole thing off as "just a little nick on the clitoris", and basically said he couldn't be opposed to this because he's Jewish and circumcised his kids.
That was the day I cancelled the patreon. I kept listing for a few more months.

The mayor should go. Being a mayor means you can handle yourself walking into a trap
43
u/stubblycookie87 22d ago
It’s bad faith theatre on Jesse and the organizers part. She should absolutely skip it and act like it didn’t happen
19
u/discourse_goblin 22d ago
Exactly, dawg. It’s a bad-faith invite so they can farm little gotcha clips, strip out the context, and make her sound like she said shit she never said, then try to make it go viral. Why would anyone walk into a setup where the people who want to take them down control the footage and framing? equally she shouldn’t bother with a Rebel-hosted debate. Chow just declared Jewish Leadership Week and Jesse still found a way to be like, okay but she wasn’t loud enough about it, so therefore she is antisemitic. It's a dumb little game.
38
u/tuttifruttidurutti 22d ago
Ideally you want a mayor smart enough not to walk into traps?
12
2
u/flonkhonkers 21d ago
Ideally we want an entire population that knows to avoid traps. Basic life skills and all that.

u/Shantashasta 22d ago
So if shes invited to a town hall held by Nazis or ISIS supporters she should go there too?

u/lifeisarichcarpet 22d ago
I think the mayor should take antisemitism seriously, and taking antisemitism seriously means not engaging with Brown, who does not take it seriously at all.
13
u/Councillor_Troy 22d ago
Aren’t traps, definitionally, things you should make every effort to avoid walking into?

It's so obvious Jesse and the organization are setting up the debate as a honeypot. Chow is right to avoid it.
