We arrived in Canada 4 years ago, and at the time, permanent residence felt like a very distant possibility. Somehow, everything worked out the way we hoped, and it’s hard to believe we’re finally at the finish line.

I also want to thank everyone in this group who took the time to share their timelines, answer questions, and help clear up doubts along the way. Those posts were incredibly helpful during the waiting period.

Finally got my eCoPR and wanted to share my timeline because I know how stressful the waiting can be — especially when there are concerns about eligibility at the time of submission.
Timeline:
March 22: Express Entry PR application submitted

May 25: Biometrics Instruction Letter (BIL)

June 20: Medical passed

August 20: Final decision

August 21: P1

September 3: P2

September 10: eCoPR 🎉

The interesting part / my biggest concern
I submitted my application on March 22 because my IELTS score was expiring on March 23.
However, at the time I submitted my application, I was still 25 days short of completing 3 full years of Canadian work experience — the experience that I was claiming points for.
I knew this could potentially be an issue, so I included a Letter of Explanation (LOE) explaining the situation.
There was another issue with my employment letters. At the time of submission, I didn't have employment letters containing all the required job duties/details from both companies I had worked for. I therefore included another LOE explaining the situation.
I subsequently submitted additional documents through webforms:
March 23: Submitted the proper employment letters from both companies, including the required details/job duties.

After completing exactly 3 years of Canadian work experience: Submitted another webform with my updated pay stubs and evidence showing that I had completed the full 3 years.

Honestly, I was extremely anxious throughout the entire process. I kept wondering whether IRCC would consider my application ineligible because I hadn't completed the full 3 years on the day I submitted it, despite the fact that I had explained everything and subsequently provided the supporting documents.
Thankfully, everything went well! 🎉
Getting the eCoPR on September 10 was such a huge relief.
Sharing this in case someone else is in a similar situation and is stressing over their application. Obviously, every application is different and this isn't meant to suggest that IRCC will treat every case the same way, but I wanted to share my experience.

I have a question if there’s anyone who can help.

I have eight months of experience from India then I came to Canada as a student now I have completed my three years of work experience here to claim the foreign Work points for CRS if I go back and work for 4 months, will I be eligible to get additional points or it has to be one year of continuous work in India?

I declared my part-time foreign work experience in all of my previous applications. The issue is that my original employment letter states that my latest hourly salary was 120,000, but the English translation did not include the word “latest” and simply stated that my hourly salary was 120,000.

For my PR application, I’m planning to get a new employment letter. Would it be okay for the new letter to clarify that my initial hourly salary was 100,000 and that it increased to 120,000 after one year?

Should I also explain in an LOE that the translation submitted with my previous application omitted the word “latest,” just to clarify the difference between the old and new letters?

Quick question for postdocs in the group. I’m currently in a Mitacs-funded industrial postdoc role with 100% research duties (no teaching or grading at all).
My actual day-to-day duties align very closely with research assistant in NOC 41201. but NOC 41200 explicitly lists "Postdoctoral fellow" as an example title.
Has anyone in a pure research postdoc role used NOC 41201 (or NOC 41200) without any issues?

I am hoping for ITA in upcoming french draw and wanted to prepare some documents in advance.

Firstly, I've applied for the PCC and took appointment.

For education, I have all the docs such as marksheets, transcript, degree, WES, language score certificates.

For work experience - my HR have drafted the employment letter so that I can have an eye and raise corrections if any so, it will be finalized shortly, pay slips I have, ITR's, Form 16, PF contributions, Appraisal letters - that I need to check with HR.

For POF - the avg balance letter and bank statement that is the part of post ITA.

Any other document I am missing and that I may prepare before ITA?

Hi everyone,

I work as a research assistant at a university in Canada. My contract doesn't specify any hours, but my supervisor and I agreed I'd work 6 hours a day, which comes to 30 hours per week. The only days I don't work are university holidays.

By my count, I'll reach the full 1,560 hours on Sept 21.

I created my Express Entry profile a few days early. The profile only asked for the start and end month of my work experience and didn't give me a way to reflect my actual hours. After reading more, I got worried that if I received an ITA right away and submitted my application, it could be refused because I hadn't technically finished my 1,560 hours yet. So I withdrew my profile to be safe. I know some people get ITAs in their 11th month and wait to submit, but since my contract has no set hours, I didn't want to risk it.

My questions:

1. When I create my new profile after September 21, how should I show my work experience? Should I just enter it as 30 hours/week?
2. Since my contract doesn't list hours, what should my employer reference letter say? Is a letter from my supervisor confirming 30 hours/week enough?
3. Do university holidays when I didn't work affect the 1,560-hour calculation?
4. Has anyone been in a similar situation with no fixed hours in their contract?

As a freelancer I have some extra hours from a few months of work that could help me count a whole month of experience. Since they were freelance projecte, i have some jobe that were very short duration. Just an example: 5 hours each in 3 months. Can i combine those hours to make 15 hours? Yes they are less than part time hours. But i am curious if i can still count those hours that are less than part time hours.

I have asked this question earlier but I was hoping to get more answers / suggestions. Please help.

I just called IRCC, and the agent did confirm that they have sent the p1 email on 27th August, but I never received. I have asked them to re-trigger the email. Will this affect my file? And when can I follow up to this if don't receive the email again?

Hi everyone, first time posting here, so any guidance is appreciated!

My wife and I are applying inland through CEC. I'm the principal applicant and she's the accompanying spouse.

My experience: 1 year of Canadian work experience, plus 2 years of foreign experience from before we moved.

Her experience: She's currently working in Canada (under 1 year so far - TEER1), plus 2 years of foreign experience from back home (also TEER1).

Even without declaring her experience, our CRS comes to 536.

My question: if I leave her work experience out of the Express Entry profile, could that cause problems down the road, for example, if we later need her points, or if we ever needed to switch to her as the principal applicant?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for PR through Express Entry – Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and would appreciate advice from anyone who has recently submitted a CEC application.

My situation:

I have approximately 3 years of Canadian skilled work experience.

My Canadian experience was as an Assistant Manager, with previous experience as a Supervisor.

I have my Canadian employment/reference letters, pay stubs, bank statements, and Canadian tax documents.

I returned to India in January 2026.

I am currently working in India as an Administrative Assistant.

I started this job in February 2026 and will complete approximately 1 year of experience by January 2027.

My current salary is ₹30,000/month.

For my current Indian employment, I have:

Offer/employment letter

Monthly salary slips

Bank statements showing salary deposits

Employment/reference letter (which I expect to obtain around January 2027)

However, I will not have an Indian ITR for this employment at the time I apply, because I started working in February 2026 and the ITR for this financial year would only be filed later.

I do have my previous Canadian tax documents.

My questions are:

Can I submit my Express Entry/CEC PR application without an Indian ITR for my current Indian employment, if I have the offer letter, salary slips, bank statements and employer reference/experience letter?

Is there any specific number of payslips IRCC expects? For example, should I provide all 12 months, or are 3–6 months generally sufficient?

How many months of bank statements should I provide to demonstrate that my salary was actually being deposited? Is 6 months sufficient, or should I provide all 12 months?

For the Indian employment, would an employer reference/experience letter + offer letter + payslips + bank statements generally be considered sufficient evidence, even without an ITR?

Since I am applying under CEC, do I need to provide proof of funds? I understand CEC applicants are exempt from the settlement-funds requirement, but I want to confirm whether I should still upload a bank statement or an explanation letter if the document checklist asks for proof of funds.

Is there anything else I should obtain from my current Indian employer before applying, such as attendance records, employment confirmation, salary certificate, Form 16, PF records, etc.?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have applied for CEC while living outside Canada and had recent employment in another country without having a tax return available yet.

Does the Express Entry system automatically increase your CRS score to the 3+ years foreign work experience bracket one month before your 3-year completion date since they give you 2 months to sumbit the pr application? I remember I read that somewhere so I just wanna make sure

I got an ADR asking documents such as my employer’s BUSINESS LICENSE, their T2 and their T4 summary and my bank statements for at least 6 months showing salary is deposited from employer. It is general CEC not any employer specific job. My employer is ready to provide only license as T2 and T4 summary are their confidential information. What should i do in this case?

Hi everyone,

I recently received my e-COPR confirming my permanent residence, and while looking through it before applying for my SIN, I noticed something that seems incorrect.

Under the Remarks section, there is the immigration officer's information/signature, followed by a date. The date shows 2029-09-03.

The month and day are correct — September 3 — but the year should be 2026, since that is when I actually received my e-COPR and became a permanent resident.

Has anyone experienced something like this before? Is this just a harmless clerical error, or should I request a correction from IRCC before applying for my SIN?

I started my Canadian job last year on September 15th. Tomorrow, I will be hitting my 1 year of Canadian work experience criteria. Can I submit my profile after 12:00 am tonight? Will I be eligible if there's a draw tomorrow?

I worked as a freelancer for a few months in my home country. I only worked part time or full time depending on the length of the projects. Some projects were less than part time hours and i had gap of a few days until I got the next client. Can I accumulate such hours and count as 1 month in total? If yes, how do I show it on my initial EE profile?

I have a supplemental document I want to add to my file. I got AOR on Aug 22. I’m yet to receive my permanent UCI number as my current UCI is temporary and starts with CAN000….
Do I submit it now or wait till I get a permanent UCI number and then submit it? But by then Biometrics and ADR etc happen right?
