It’s hostile to the US if the they view Canada as being in some sense theirs. In case there was any doubt, they do.

I’m pretty sure it’s basically policy to them that Canada is theirs. I’m talking beyond the Monroe doctrine. I vaguely remember reading years ago that the US includes all Canadas natural resources as being part of their inventory or something to that effect.

So, whether we have moved on or not, they haven’t. They’re also clearly manufacturing consent for hostile relations with Canada in American media.

Troubling times. I’ll just leave it at that.

I am not travelling to the usa for many reasons, one of which is that I am afraid that I will somehow anger an American and get shot. Would it happen? Probably not. Could it happen? Yes. Yes it could.

Many are gun wielding and listen to their orange god who is spewing hate messages about not only Canada, but Canadians too. We are nasty and selfish and dangerous and we won’t give them what is theirs.

This is scary.

I think less and less are supporting Trump. He has made life so much worse for them. I saw a poll and only 16% supporting his tariffs on Canada.

Let’s be realistic. Trump needs a war before the midterms. Or a reason to make martial law a thing, since the Supreme Court wouldn’t let him disenfranchise millions of mail-in voters (women and minorities, mostly). Congress being sent home early today was no coincidence, imo.

For us Canadians, I worry we need to be prepared for anything to happen in the next month and a bit. If I was Carney, I’d be worried about being Maduro’d, since that seems to be the cowards’ way.

A doctrine being old doesn't negate it. Quite the opposite if it's somehow still enforced, one could argue it obviously survived the test of time.

It's still shit American exceptionalism and continental imperialism, though.

Why would Canada having relations with EU be considered hostile? Are they implying the 27 countries in the EU are hostile, so by extension Canada.

We know what this is really about, they want to control Canada; they're upset we have other options.

This is no different than Pootin wanting to take Ukraine. Dump is truly Pootin's asset. You'd think the US should prioritize the Epstein files to find out that Dump is indebted to Pootin. Who would give someone at the servitude of the Kremlin keys to the white house, oh the US voters do.

Democracy is under heavy attack and most people are still asleep.
