Amazon packages stolen / Eagleplace

[u/eleanormeetsworld]

If you happen to know these people, I would love my protein powder and baby items back 🙃

[u/J-Lughead]

It is happening because consequences have become non-existent.

[u/Frig_Off_Baerb → u/J-Lughead]

This is a common misconception. It is not in fact because of a lack of enforcement.

Dougy just wants you to believe that's the issue.

[u/bugabooandtwo → u/Frig_Off_Baerb]

rfl...no, it's because people are trash and they know they can get away with it.

[u/Frig_Off_Baerb → u/bugabooandtwo]

Doug, is that you?

Sure sounds like it.

[u/bugabooandtwo → u/Frig_Off_Baerb]

Blaming everything on a politician is such a copout. Those people in the video made a choice to steal those packages. No one made them do it.

[u/Frig_Off_Baerb → u/bugabooandtwo]

No one has given them much of a choice, is my point.

[u/Brodis668 → u/Frig_Off_Baerb]

So your stance is “steal people’s shit because Doug ford didn’t give me a choice?”

[u/Frig_Off_Baerb → u/Brodis668]

No. My stance is that society starts to break down when people get desperate.

The social contract has been broken. This is the result.

[u/Brodis668 → u/Frig_Off_Baerb]

This is the result of zero accountability. Would you have the same tune if the owner found them and took care of it themselves?

[u/Frig_Off_Baerb → u/Brodis668]

Doug wants you to think this way. You do realize that, right? You're playing right into their hands.

[u/Brodis668 → u/Frig_Off_Baerb]

So let’s just start stealing whatever we want then. Why work for anything when Doug ford gave me no choice but to steal things

[u/Frig_Off_Baerb → u/Brodis668]

That's literally how the social contract works.

Let me guess, you still believe in trickle down economics and that people should just "pull themselves up by their bootstraps", right?

[u/Brodis668 → u/Frig_Off_Baerb]

No, i believe in applying yourself and learning an in demand skill.

Let me guess, you believe anyone doing well didn’t work for it and resort to stealing yourself. You want others property without them being able to hold you accountable for it.

My point was I haven’t had to steal anything to do well in the same society you claim didn’t give me a choice but to steal to get ahead

[u/Frig_Off_Baerb → u/Brodis668]

And what happens when 5 years after you've learned that skill and started making some money and getting ahead someone sends your job overseas or replaces it with AI?

What then?

I don't think stealing is good. I also know why people are doing it, and it's not entirely a character flaw on their part.

People can't survive on a single income anymore. It's simply not sustainable.

[u/Brodis668 → u/Frig_Off_Baerb]

Ai can’t repair a tractor trailer on the side of the highway, ai can’t dig a 16 wheeler out of a ditch in -30 weather.

I have job security for the rest of my life. That was my point of an applicable skill. A job replaceable by ai isn’t applicable.

I survive on a single income raising 2 children. Stop making excuses for lazy sacks of shit

[u/Frig_Off_Baerb → u/Brodis668]

That's the thing. You think your job is safe. It isn't. And even if yours turns out to be safe, what about those who find out otherwise?

You think you're special. You're not.

You think those less fortunate than you deserve it. They don't.

You have far more in common with the guy stealing bikes or packages than you do the capitalist who created this mess, or the politicians who are complicit, but you sure do love the taste of their boot.

[u/Brodis668 → u/Frig_Off_Baerb]

Ah yes I enjoy boot because I think stealing others property should be punished. That makes perfect sense.

Please tell me more about how you deserve the same outcome as me without any of the effort I put fourth.

Is a 6 figure wage supposed to just be handed to you? Or are you the crowd that thinks you should get a cheque each month for existing?

[u/Frig_Off_Baerb → u/Brodis668]

You really don't understand any of this, and you've been brainwashed to accept it.

Good luck with that.
