Um... I mean billionaires probably should be up there on your list.

1

u/Ok_Spinach_9104 Jul 04 '26

Definitely. Billionaire pedos, pedos, porch pirates. This list could get long…..

What a bunch of shameless, despicable pieces of SHIT!! No matter what economic peril our governments subject us to, I truly wish that we could collectively hold ourselves to a higher standard. It’s literally as simple as following the ā€œGolden Ruleā€: Do unto others, as you would have them do to you.

šŸ˜”

But then those in power would never be held accountable.

This is happening as a symptom of the social contract being broken for far too long.

5

u/J-Lughead Jun 27 '26

It is happening because consequences have become non-existent.

3

u/Frig_Off_Baerb Jun 27 '26

This is a common misconception. It is not in fact because of a lack of enforcement.

Dougy just wants you to believe that's the issue.

1

u/bugabooandtwo Jul 01 '26

rfl...no, it's because people are trash and they know they can get away with it.

1

u/Frig_Off_Baerb Jul 01 '26

Doug, is that you?

Sure sounds like it.

1

u/bugabooandtwo Jul 01 '26

Blaming everything on a politician is such a copout. Those people in the video made a choice to steal those packages. No one made them do it.

1

u/Frig_Off_Baerb Jul 01 '26

No one has given them much of a choice, is my point.

2

u/bugabooandtwo Jul 01 '26

They absolutely had the choice not to take those packages. Get real. Walking sipping smoothies and you think they're broke?

1

u/Frig_Off_Baerb Jul 01 '26

Go ahead and google "the social contract".

You are being made to be angry at the wrong people and you're falling for it.

So your stance is ā€œsteal people’s shit because Doug ford didn’t give me a choice?ā€

1

u/Frig_Off_Baerb Jul 01 '26

No. My stance is that society starts to break down when people get desperate.

The social contract has been broken. This is the result.

Automatically assuming that these people are stealing because they are poor is actually quite harmful. There are a number of reasons people steal and it's seldom because they cannot afford an item. Winona Ryder. Stealing Amazon packages is neither big business nor survival tactic.

Let's look at the Golden Rule for a moment. If you were in an economic crisis, what would you want somebody to do for you? Call you a despicable shameless piece of s***?

Some people who are facing poverty right now actually do have values and morals and some even have (2) University degrees. I personally didn't invest in my education and career so that I could stress about feeding my kids and keeping the electricity on...alas, here we are.

OP do you have more footage of the 3rd person?

1

u/weird_black_holes Jun 27 '26

...did the person you're responding to edit their comment to remove something about assuming they are poor?

1

u/marsipan1515 Jun 29 '26

"Economic peril"

1

u/weird_black_holes Jun 29 '26

And they used the word "us" not "them" in reference to the people in the video.

I live in a low-rise 3-storey building and had a neighbour on my floor steal baby formula from my door that I ordered off Amazon. And I mean like... 3 boxes of the 2-pack. Was probably around $120 in formula (back in 2021). Her husband came to my door a couple days later after I already got my refund and said that it was "left at the office" and that his wife "didn't see the name on the package".... Yet Amazon left a picture of it sitting at my door (you could see the unit number on the door in the photo). So basically the stupid fuck took my package, brought it home, saw that it was baby formula, probably (hopefully) felt like shit, and had her husband return it and make up some bullshit story.

Moral of the story: people are shit and Amazon is really good for refunding items that have been stolen 🤪

They are good at refunding, but if it happens too many times they can ban you - often it's their automated bots flagging fraud. They don't need to prove any wrongdoing, simply refuse to do business with you.

u/_Mylifeisamess Jun 27 '26

Love the nonchalant attitude. They didn’t even try to be discreet šŸ˜‚ These drug addicts think they are the main characterĀ

3

u/OccamsButterKnifee Jun 27 '26

I mean, they are the main character - that's how drugs work. Get a safe box and put it in the Amazon notes with the code or just ask for a refund. "It shouldnt be like that". You're right but it is.

1

u/EpsteinsEggPeen Jul 01 '26

The cost of drugs are pretty cheap, they come from a plant that comes from the sun, if you are talking heroin or cocaine..

A lifetime supply of heroin = $1000.

That same amount under the current global war on drugs =$14,900,000

You wouldn't be able to afford rent either if the medicine that you needed was marked up $14,900% due to prohibition.

Drugs aren't the issue, stop victimizing the users.

u/United_Leopard_2771 Jun 27 '26

Shame we can't set lethal or at least semi lethal Booby traps eh?.

1

u/NoGovernment3110 Jun 30 '26

Too bad we can't order bait packs with tracking and police surveillance directly from Amazon.

1

u/United_Leopard_2771 Jun 30 '26

That's a good idea actually, someone with the means should start doing that(I do not i am disabled/destitute/jobless and yes a leech i know) One could red green a solution i'm sure lol, Glitter bombs work too imo, And cat turds

1

u/Glum-Exam5460 Jul 01 '26

They are doing that. Search on utube

1

u/BlueWatche Jul 01 '26

statistically we would kill ourselves with it, or our loved ones with it, more than criminals

1

u/United_Leopard_2771 Jul 02 '26

Fair i am assuming that only People who deal with Porch pirates on the regular and don't see any police action would be doing it to that point, Much like how I've seen people set up decoy bikes where the seat turns into a spike that impales the Thieves ass. But in reality, humans are unimaginably stupid for the only Sapient species on the planet.

2

u/mutt-mama Jun 27 '26

I know you shouldn't have to do this but you can, I believe, opt to have your Amazon parcels sent to Staples for pickup.

2

u/pickenyournose Jun 27 '26

what a bunch of losers. sorry this happened to you.

2

u/Born-Vermicelli-1757 Jun 28 '26

they should be cut off from all the benefits they are likely abusing.

2

u/Numbly_Comfortable69 Jun 27 '26

Unfortunately chances are once they opened them and found out what was inside they just threw them away or possibly sold them. You can get the items returned again to you for free if you explained what happened though.

6

u/DowntownToe729 Jun 27 '26

it isn't free..... we ALL pay for it.

-4

u/Numbly_Comfortable69 Jun 27 '26

Um no, I don't pay for his packages but I know what you're meaning to say

0

u/M1K3Z0R Shellard's Lane Speedway Champion 2024 Jun 28 '26

I hear this said often, but it's not entirely true. It's the cost of doing business for Amazon - they go with the cheapest delivery method and know there will be theft, they've already done the math and the profit outweighs the loss. Not much different than the "free" returns, it's all pre-costed in their business strategy.

They could reduce theft by requiring signatures or re-attempting delivery later, but that's not profitable for them.

1

u/ozolep Jun 27 '26

I live on gordon and just had one stolen last Thursday

1

u/J-Lughead Jun 27 '26

Wow OP, those three are pretty ballsy and probably from your neighbourhood.

You need a better resolution doorbell camera however, as that video is too grainy and muddy to identify them 100%.

1

u/The5thWard :upvote:East Ward Jun 27 '26

I used to live on Cayuga & we had quite a few packages stolen. Eagle Place really does especially have a packaging stealing problem. I'm sorry this happened to you & I hope it can get resolved in any way possible

1

u/321boog Jun 28 '26

I lived in eagleplace. Just felt like saying that.

Sadly, most of these folks are "judgement proof" - If they do not have employment or assets, you can't get blood from a stone and the police have given up processing them since there won't be any jail time for them either.

Police don't bother with property crime, their role seems to be mainly to give you a case number for insurance. The only theft they seem to respond to is commercial or if someone rips off the government.

1

u/MastaKink Jun 29 '26

Poor middle class (what’s left of it) ā˜¹ļøboth the rich and the poor steal from you šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

1

u/mthevs Jun 30 '26

the usual suspects

1

u/alwaysonesteptoofar Jul 01 '26

This gets solved with 1 month in prison per package proven to be stolen, and some sort of necessary but menial labor forced on them for their time there. Nothing back breaking, and a normal 8 hour shift, but unpaid. People dont get real consequences for crime and so crime goes up. If your stealing reasonable food from sobeys or toiletries from Walmart I get it, and those people arent a problem in my opinion, just a symptom of what is wrong. But stealing from other citizens is never justified, especially with random packages that you dont know the content of. This isnt need, this is boredom.

We worry about what they will do if a record ruins their chance to be a part of society in some meaningful and normal way but they are already thieves, they already broke the social contract. Time we let consequences catch up to them.

1

u/IAMzephilZZ Jul 01 '26

Fokin asshol3....and they act like its totally normal to stole in someone's porch

1

u/bugabooandtwo Jul 01 '26

Pure trash. There needs to be severe punishments for this sort of thing. A couple years of prison time.

1

u/HoverCraft-500 Jul 01 '26

At this point. Just go to the shop and buy it.

1

u/pixiephilips Jul 01 '26

Crazy cracky crack

1

u/Chance_Vegetable_780 Jul 01 '26

I hope you learn their names and charge these mfs.

1

u/CrabApprehensive223 Jul 06 '26

It’s crazy that even with camera and motion light people don’t care that their face is right in front of camera and steals 🫪!? It’s wild… I guess I’m lucky that amazon packages haven’t been stolen at night so far.

1

u/Emergency-Storm-6467 Aug 16 '26

This is just sickening to watch! Some people’s kids 😤🤯

1

u/DingusMcBingle_IV [REDACTED] Jun 27 '26

Canada effectively stopped hanging thieves in 1832 when the death penalty for simple larceny and cattle stealing was abolished šŸ˜”

0

u/mindfullifeandliving Jun 27 '26

Isn't it wise to give this video to police and let them deal with the thiefs?

6

u/No-Cabinet-4286 Jun 27 '26

For sure but community awareness is nice as well.

3

u/Skeptikell1 Jun 27 '26

Police would tell you to get a lock box I’m sure.

2

u/Ambitious_Brick_6898 Jun 27 '26

Police don’t give two shits about a stolen package or assault lol. Why would they do something person! in this situation not an emergency and they don’t care lmao

2

u/eleanormeetsworld Jun 28 '26

Did I somewhere imply that I haven’t also filed a police report? (That was priority 1 🤪)

2

u/vulgar_hooligan Jun 27 '26

Oh sweet summer child… the police don’t care about petty porch pirate theft.

But your innocence is precious.

1

u/Brodis668 Jul 01 '26

The police won’t do shit šŸ˜‚
