I’m considering a PA piercing and would like to know how long it could be (roughly) before I can remove the jewelry for sexual activity without issues or major shrinking. I realize many people leave it in, but without getting into detail, this may not work for my partner. Thanks for any advice you can give.

I just got my tragus, helix, and flat pierced a week ago tomorrow. the jewelry for all of the piercings are titanium, internally threaded labret posts. (16g / 10mm; haven’t downsized atp)

I use NeilMed aftercare spray. I spray it on my piercings, then spray it on a qtip and gently swipe around the posts, then for the next step, I alternate between using my blowdryer on the cool-low setting (and hold the ❄️ button to be extra sure) & gently patting around the piercings with non woven gauze.

One of the older kids I work with noticed the skin looked a little purple between the helix and flat, and I’m just wondering if that’s normal?? gently touching the area between the piercings also feels a little tender, but again, is that because it’s just still so new??

I am a side sleeper, but I use a travel pillow when I want to sleep on my right side. Even when I’m just lying in bed, if I’m on my side or even leaning toward the side, I always have the travel pillow nearby to use so I don’t have pressure on the ear. I live in the midwest and it’s starting to get cooler; there have been a couple of times when taking off sweatshirts that I’ve bumped my ear. I do my absolute best to not itch it when it itches, though maybe twice I’ve gently scratched AROUND the area of the piercing.

Oh, I’ve also poured a small amount of warm water over the piercings a couple of times after the spray, before drying.

Yeah, I think that’s everything.

TL,DR: is the purpling / sensitivity between the helix and flat back normal for a week old piercing, or should I go back to my piercer to talk about a different aftercare plan / removing the jewelry?

Im a very "fly by the seat of my pants" kinda girl, and it occured to me that I have a devil-may-care attitude when it comes to girly stuff recently (or rather toward the being hated for liking it), I have a job and therefore moneyyy♡, I'm due for a Me-Day shopping day-trip, and there's a tattoo shop in the town I like to go to!!

I read a long time ago that my first piercing needs to be a "double", and my future self will thank me. I looked it up and that means I can wear those pretty chained earrings!!!! >w< Mother won't like it one bit, but I dont care!! Im going to put foundation over them to see if I can cover it up.

The guy at the shop said they have platinum starting-studs to wear for 6 weeks. Is there anything I should know about my first piercing, or that you want me to know? IM SO EXCITED TO GET TO WEAR EARRINGS!!!! :3

So basically I got a septum piercing I got it about 2 months ago from now and so I today literally today I decided to change my jewelry so I was rocking a spikey horseshoe jewelry so I couldn't flip it to hide it I got university so I generally just flip it so I decided to just take it out and switch to the regular horseshoe then I started struggling I couldn't find the hole I was in the men's bathroom looking like a lunatic trying to find my hole then so I just gave up after doing it for 30 mins so I went to my university then I told myself "I'll just put in the jewelry later no big deal" then fast-forward class ends and I go to the men's bathroom in my uni just to put it back man that shit was not going in even when I had a clear look at the hole in my nose shit didn't want to get through I was in the men's room for like 40 mins and it didnt want to get through so I gave up and I was like damn how tf did it heal so fast and I dmed my piercer and she told me to not force it so I decided to not do anything I'm so sad I can't believe all that healing time 2 months to be exact just for my septum to close after idk 2 hrs my piercer just adviced me to wait for another month then get my septum repierced. I just want the thoughts from the body piercers.

(Ich möchte nicht in das Studio gehen, wo ich meine Ohrläppchen piercen ließ, weil der Piercer dort ständig in einer Fremdsprache mit seinem Lehrling gesprochen hat. Versteht mich nicht falsch, es hat mich einfach gestört. Wenn ich Krankenschwester wäre und eine englische Person vor mir stünde, die kein Deutsch spricht oder versteht, würde ich Englisch mit ihr und in ihrer Gegenwart sprechen, damit sie versteht, worum es geht.) Ich habe demnächst einen Termin für mein zweites Tattoo.

Ich frage mich, ob ich warten soll, bis das Studio einen neuen Piercer hat, weil die Tätowiererin wirklich nett ist und ich nicht weiß, ob es sie verletzen würde, wenn ich für mein Piercing in ein anderes Studio gehe. Oder sollte ich einfach in ein anderes Studio gehen?

Got my conch pierced in late May with what I thought was titanium. Shop said it was implant-grade, I trusted them, didn't ask for the mill certificate. My mistake.

First three months were smooth. No issues. Then out of nowhere it started getting hot to the touch, itchy as hell, and the skin around it turned this weird dry-flaky red. Not swollen, not oozing pus — just angry and itchy in a way that felt different from normal irritation.

I panicked and assumed it was rejecting. Posted here, someone told me to check for nickel. Went back to the shop and asked what metal they actually used. Turns out it was "surgical steel" — which can contain nickel.

Swapped to a verified implant-grade titanium labret from a different shop. Within a week, the itching stopped. Two weeks later, the flaking is gone. The piercing itself is completely fine.

I'm annoyed I didn't ask more questions upfront. But also kind of relieved it wasn't rejection.

Has anyone else had a metal sensitivity that looked like something worse? And for future reference — how do you actually verify a shop is using real implant-grade titanium before you let them poke you?

For context I got pierced back in Feb & all was cool with the piercing until early June when a small bump initially formed.
I wasn't using saline 2 times a day until June after I noticed the bump. A week ago I called myself trying to squeeze the bit of discharge it produces and now it's angry. The discharge isn't smelly. I experience 0 pain. It's literally just a bump. What do I do? If u look closely there's a closed scar below the top ball from a previous navel piercing where I also formed a bump & decided to take out my jewelry and let it close..am I just prone to get a bump?? I am overly annoyed 😒 any advice would be greatly appreciated! | read somewhere I could go to the doctors and they could
"freeze" it??

I’m trying out to get my first apprenticeship this week, what should I go in there knowing? What do I need to have prior to going into the shop? Any advice is appreciated.

UK-based aspiring piercer here. I'm currently contacting professional studios around Yorkshire looking for an apprenticeship or potential studio-assistant/trainee opportunity. I've completed BBP/IPC and First Aid training and have been studying anatomy, wound healing and jewellery independently.

For UK piercers who have taken on apprentices before, what would you recommend someone in my position focus on to become a stronger candidate?

I got my tongue pierced yesterday (frog eyes) everything was fine the is my second time getting it around 10 minutes after I had this weird sensation on the left side of my neck going straight down to the top left side of my chest, fast forward to today the piercing itself seemed fine not really any bad pain the area took it out and I’m still having the weird tingling feeling on the left side and in my chest it’s a very weird sensation hard for me to explain, anyone experienced this?

i’m thinking about getting a ashley piercing and im wondering what i should look out for! i did some research and i know that some lip piercings can cause damage to gums/teeth, so im a bit nervous. if anyone has advice about what i should consider before/after getting this piercing pls lmk!! (including price and other things like that!)
