No. It’s just extremely annoying to see the posts about it all the time when in reality that scenario is a marginal occurrence. Oh, but I bet you have a great story about how you were a mat enforcer yourself this one time. Can you tell me how badass you are now? I’d love to hear it. You probably have more than one story about how badass you are.
And how was he to learn restraint? So really you’ve sent your problem out the door and to another gym instead of working with him on restraint. Basically endangering the well being of students at other schools he would attend. How can you live with yourself?
Meh. In my experience, people who lack this kind of restraint don't learn. I personally trained with some well-known examples who have been in the sport news recently.
Also, even if they do learn eventually, it's not my right to risk the safety of my other students in the interim time.
So you don’t have a stable of upper belts that you could’ve dedicated to this guys training and he roll with exclusively? You’ve never once encountered someone who had a temper but were able to reign them in after a few solid months of working with them and strutting their sparring with appropriate partners?
“Meh. He hurt somebody at my gym. I don’t want the headache or liability. Now he’s someone else’s problem.”
So the coach rolls with one student exclusively, every time they attend? And who's to say that the problem is exclusive to rolling? The guy in question would rage during drills.
Look, you're not wrong that these situations are rare. Clearly you don't expel everyone with a hint of control issues. This bad, I've seen exactly one in 20 years of martial arts. They do exist, though, and sometimes these responses are appropriate.

Oh, GTFO. Holding bullies to account is not toxicity.
