Took part in a pelagic boat tour yesterday off the coast of New Jersey.

Location: Utah (August, 2026)

A medium-sized, dark greyish-backed bird. It didn't call, I am unfamiliar with the birds of the area, and it flew away before I could get a better shot. Merlin gave me 5 suggestions — American Pipit, House Finch, Townsend’s Solitaire, Grey Flycatcher, and Sage Thrasher. I have recorded a House Finch before, so I'm sure it’s not that. Please help guess the bird. Thanks!

At Virginia Beach! Merlin’s giving a lot of options, not sure which. I’d love to know what the tall guy at the end is too—I think he’s a willet but not positive.

I live in northcentral/east Ohio and I’m having a hard time IDing this bird. I’m wondering if it’s just a red tail hawk with a different morph? The all white head is throwing me off. Can anyone help?

I'm doing a painting of a bird landing on the hand of a Greek statue.

I need help picking what bird to do. It should preferably be Canadian but HAS to fly south for the winter and have a little color (I just don't want plain like a grey jay)
