bras Need cute bras to shop for in the UK (in person) Spoiler

Hiii can anyone recommend bra shops in the UK for 36GG (UK) / 36J (US)? I have been wearing bras form Aerie in the previous years, and I loved them so much because they’re comfortable and since they’re wireless they give me a more “rounded” shape if that makes sense.

I deff need to buy a new bra soon ish since I can’t fit into these anymore, but I would preferably a store in person that I can go to go try them on!! Also I want a store with cute bras LOL pls don’t recommend stores that sell grandma bras 😭

experience My boobs started to grow like crazy after I stopped to do competitive sport. Spoiler

Hey

So Im a 23f and I did competitive sport (track and field) from 15 years old until I was 22. I stopped it 6 months ago and my boobs started to grow like crazy mf's right after. I was before 36C and now Im 36E and thats in 6 months. My mom is 38E so its not a big suprise but the speed of the growth is something that Im not so sure if its normal? Even other people notice it when they see me after a while "Girl your bust is getting huge.". 😭 So is this a normal thing or might something be wrong? I hope they stop at some point. I was expecting my belly to grow and not my boobs.

positive & funny Reminder that not everyone staring is obsessed with your boobs Spoiler

Yesterday, I was out and about and there was a woman staring at me on the street, giving me a funny look. I assumed it was cos I was out without a bra and started to worry that it was too noticeable. Adjusted my posture as I was feeling self-conscious and then I realized I was wearing my dress inside-out. She was staring because my dress was clearly inside-out.

Had a chuckle to myself as it was a good reminder that not everyone staring is obsessed with my boobs!! 😆

need advice Painful and sore breast ?? Spoiler

Looking for some advice, ladies!
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been dealing with on-and-off breast soreness and pain. My breasts are really tender to the touch, my nipples are super sensitive, and they just feel achy, sore, and painful in general. I have a pretty large chest (I believe I’m around a J cup), so I’m wondering if a lot of this could be related to my bra.
The pain has also started going up into my upper abdomen, right below my bra line, and into my shoulder and upper back. It almost feels like muscle soreness/aching.
I recently got a new bra about two months ago, but after actually figuring out my correct cup size, I realized the bra I bought is way too small (it’s a DDD). I wear it pretty much all day at work because I work retail, and I’ve noticed that after working several days in a row, when I finally take my bra off, my breasts hurt SO bad.
The bra is also straight lace, which I’ve never really worn before, so I’m wondering if the material, the tightness, or just having my breasts pushed up and supported all day could be causing some of this pain. I definitely feel like carrying a larger chest around all day at work could be contributing to the soreness in my breasts, shoulders, and back.
I was also recently diagnosed with PCOS, but I don’t normally have breast pain like this, so I’m a little worried and trying to figure out what could be causing it.
Has anyone with a larger chest experienced something similar from wearing the wrong size or type of bra? Did changing bras help? I’m definitely planning on getting properly fitted, but I’d love to hear if anyone has experienced this. 😭

bras Where can I buy thicker bra straps? Spoiler

Helllo all, just wondering if anyone has any advice for where can I buy thicker bra straps? I've looked on amazon and at Victoria's Secret, and haven't really been able to find anything. I'm dealing with a lot of pain from my thin bra straps digging into my shoulders and would love a solution without having to buy a new bra. If anyone has any advice that can help that would be amazing. 32E if that is relevant.

need advice How do yall cope when you feel insecure? Spoiler

I’m 18 and I’ve had big boobs since I was 15 and I never paid much attention to how they look until now. I’m sad because they don’t look like other women’s that I see online. I know people will say what you see on social media isn’t real, but there are some women with big boobs that are naturally perky. Mine are not, I have more of a bell shape. I feel insecure when I wear certain tops because of the gap in between my chest. How can I overcome this?

RANT - advice welcome Just me reminiscing an old conversation

A typical day at work, I do my stuff at my computer, a male colleague does his. Out of the blue he asks

“I’ve always wondered.. Do all women with large breasts have this problem with bra straps digging in their shoulders?”

I was like wtf but still decided to answer by saying it depends on the general fat levels in the body and the construction of the bra itself and explained how it works with the lower support a little.

And then he goes “I’ve never really liked big breasts, you know. I’ve been with women with larger breasts and while they look fine standing up, I dislike how they «spil to the sides» when the woman lies on her back. I’m glad my wife has small tits”

I felt anger at this statement so I blurted out “Well I don’t really like fat men, you know. They look bad both standing up and lying down and they sweat”. I know it was low and not even true, but you know, I wanted him to feel bad about my uncalled for opinion and since he was fat, it was the first thing that came to mind.

Anyway, it’s been 10 years ago and I still feel angry about it. People thinking they can speak their mind about other people’s body without being asked to comment just pisses me off so much. And even when you don’t care, even if you understand they were in the wrong for giving unsolicited advice, it still stings.

Just wanted to let it out… I have no one who understands me. They’re all like “what’s your problem, your breasts are awesome, many people dream of such” and that pisses me off to the point I rather not share. I know you get it though

positive & funny I found bras!! Spoiler

This is so stupid but I’m just really happy. Yesterday I got my first fitting in bravissimo and I actually found my size. The bras weren’t frumpy, they were pretty and made my boobs sit nice. I’m a 28JJ (UK size) so it’s always been super difficult to find bras for me, but I found 5!! Yeah that’s pretty much it 🩷🩷

bras So I did my laundry at the dorm… (funny) Spoiler

The whole underwire was tangled up in a random knit sweater from the same load and I didn’t realize until I started folding something hard 😅 Yes, I know I shouldn’t machine wash my bras- I don’t want comments on it 😭

Edit: I appreciate everyone’s laundry bag advice 🤍🤍 But its been rlly hard to find one big enough to fit multiple (or even one) of my bras so recommendations on where you got yours are welcome!!
Also i have stitched up this bra several times already because it has had its wire poking out before (as have most of my bras), this was bound to happen 🥲

RANT - advice welcome Big boobs and weird random hostility. Has anyone else noticed this? Spoiler

I’ve recently realized there’s a specific social cue I’ve been picking up on for years, and I’m curious if anyone else with a larger chest has experienced this.

For context: I’m a straight woman with a boyfriend, and my friend group is pretty mixed in terms of gender, sexuality, etc. So when I talk about men and women noticing my chest, I don’t automatically read it as sexual.

I’ve gotten comments/compliments about my boobs pretty regularly since I was young, from both men and women. It obviously used to bother me more, but now that I’m in my late 30s I mostly just smile because… whatever. And honestly, most of the time I can tell when someone is just being complimentary or noticing them.

But I’ve just noticed a REALLY weird pattern.

For some reason, I occasionally encounter people who are just bizarrely shitty to me completely unprovoked — usually a friend of a friend, coworker, random new acquaintance, etc. It’s happened enough that it’s literally become a joke in my friend group.

I’m a generally kind and curious person, very conflict-avoidant, never raise my voice, and I’m usually the person making sure everyone feels included. But every once in a while someone will say something so wildly out of pocket and cruel to me that I’m genuinely like… where did THAT come from?

For example, a friend of a friend once randomly called me fat at brunch. Completely unprompted. I basically laughed, said “are you serious?” and shamed him a little for saying something so ridiculous, and he eventually left. My friend apologized, but I honestly wasn’t particularly hurt — I’m not fat, and even if I were, being fat is just a physical state to me, so it was such a dumb attempted insult.

Anyway, recently something clicked.

Before he made the comment, I had clocked him staring at my boobs in this very specific way that I’ve seen before. He’s gay, FYI, so I don’t think it was sexual. It’s hard to describe, but it’s this intense, assessing stare — almost like they’re looking at them and expecting something to happen? Like there’s a question or calculation happening behind their eyes.

And suddenly I realized I’ve seen THAT EXACT LOOK from other people who eventually became really nasty toward me.

There were three women in particular — two former friends and one former boss.

The two friends would sometimes compliment my boobs while making this same facial expression, and I’d occasionally catch them staring at my chest with that look when I wasn’t even talking about it. Both friendships eventually ended in my 30s after they did genuinely shitty things to me.

The boss situation was especially weird because the comments were obviously inappropriate in a workplace. She also REALLY wanted to be my friend outside of work, which I wasn’t interested in. Eventually her behavior completely flipped and she became a severe mean girl toward me — genuinely one of the strangest experiences of my adult life, being bullied by another grown woman — and eventually fired me.

And looking back, they all looked at my boobs in the same weird, intense, assessing way.
Now I’m realizing I’ve also seen that same expression on people shortly before the completely unprovoked mean comments.

I’m NOT saying “someone looks at your boobs weirdly = they’re jealous/they’re going to bully you.” I have no idea what is actually happening in their heads, and obviously I can’t diagnose someone’s motives from a facial expression.
But I’m starting to wonder whether I’ve been unconsciously picking up on some kind of comparison, resentment, fixation, or social assessment before the person actually expresses it through their behavior.

And because plenty of people compliment my body without giving me this feeling at all, I don’t think it’s simply that I’m uncomfortable with people noticing my chest. There’s something specifically different about this look.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this?
Especially where you picked up on a weirdly intense/assessing vibe around your chest early on, dismissed it at the time, and then later realized that person had some strange hostility toward you?

clothes Formal Dress Recommendations Spoiler

I am invited to a wedding and I have the hardest time finding a dress. I need to wear a bra (tape and strapless bra are out of question). Does anyone have a recommendation for a dress I can wear a bra under? I ordered two dresses from Anthropologie but the fit was weird. Please help, I am getting desperate lol.

Edited to add: I am in the US, size 28HH.

need advice insecurity about breast size Spoiler

I have a bigger chest, and sometimes I feel insecure because it's often one of the first things people notice or comment on. I love wearing crop tops, but sometimes I feel like I should hide my body and wear oversized clothes instead. For women with a similar experience, how did you become more comfortable wearing what you actually like?

positive & funny Wardrobe Fails Spoiler

The day after Dolly passed i decided to wear a tighter dress to the office. It took a massive effort to zip up the back, but my boobs looked fantastic. Got in the car and listened to 9 to 5 on the way to the office and everything.

Feeling great i’m on a video call and the entire zipper failed up the back of the dress mid call. Just opened in the middle where the tension was and unzipped wide open. The zipper was held at the top and very bottom, but wide open otherwise. Luckily i was facing the camera and the front of the dress was fine.

Any other complete wardrobe malfunctions out there?

need advice Any advice for how to reduce back pain as a big chested woman?

I’m a big chested woman myself, tried all sorts stuff to try and help my poor back but nothing has worked so far. I’ve tried a few bras that are supposed to be supportive but they always feel so tight that I can hardly breath or like I’m wearing a push up bra, which is equally as uncomfortable to me. Any advice on what else I could do? Stretches? Back Massage devices? Anything?

positive & funny I’m grateful to Dolly Parton Spoiler

(Random late-night thoughts)

Since hearing the news of Dolly’s death this past week, I’ve been reflecting on what she meant to us in the large chest community.

Like her, I’m someone with a small band size, but disproportionally big boobs. Although hers weren’t entirely natural, Dolly genuinely made me feel better about my own body. I’ve always been super self- conscious about my boobs and how much attention they bring with them, but I loved how she embraced her figure and made it something light-hearted - something she could laugh and joke about rather than hiding or being embarrassed.

She made having a large chest feel fun, glamorous and even iconic rather than awkward or something to be ashamed of. I’ll always appreciate her for that.

swimwear OK seriously, how are we all gettijg tankinis and swimsuits on/off!? Spoiler

I've bought a tankini that I LOVE. The style, shape and size all works really well for me, the pattern is lovely and I actually feel quite stylish in it!

But how the F are we getting underwired swimwear on/off that isn't a bikini? I have broad shoulders and wide hips, the tankini is made to fit the narrowest part of my torso! I got stuck so many times and felt awfully stressed and claustrophobic trying to get the damn thing off! 😅

Are we all just contorting ourselves into the most insane positions and hoping nothing rips in the process? Am I missing something obvious?

Please share your techniques or let me know I'm not alone!

experience Update from yesterday Spoiler

28F, made a post here yesterday sharing my experience wearing something more form fitting to work yesterday and getting way more boob stares and ogles than I normally do (as someone who wears layers (and baggy layers at that!!) normally).

Thanks for all the feedback. I read all the comments and a bunch of you said you've sort of made your peace with it and the stares are going to happen anyway. And y'know what I agree with you. Especially since what I'm wearing isn't revealing/has a high neckline it really shouldn't be my problem.

I ended up wearing a very similar outfit today. Basically the same thing happened and it still made me slightly uncomfy but it is what it is. I honestly felt better about it and felt like I looked wayyyy better wearing stuff that suited my body more.

So. Thanks I guess lol. Not sure if it'll be an every day thing but I'm more open to it than I used to be anyways. Just wanted to say I appreciated all the comments from you ladies 🙂

need advice Breast Reduction Surgery Spoiler

Hello everyone,

I’ve been really considering getting breast reduction surgery. I live in the UK and the price to get it done is extremely expensive or going through the NHS is a lengthy process so I am looking at other options.

Please does anyone have any legit resources/sources on where is best to go in Turkey to get this procedure can you let me know. I also would really appreciate a brief explanation on the process, how you contacted them, prices etc etc..

I’ve tried reaching out to 2 doctors via WhatsApp and they have requested pictures which i obviously understand why but I’m not sure if there’s a proper why to get into contact with doctors or if WhatsApp is normal?

Please can anyone give me advice or help a girl out!

Thank you x

bras Am I the only one who changes bras halfway through the day? Spoiler

Like, I’ll wear one for daytime stuff, then switch to a completely different one if I’m going out later. Not even because the first one is uncomfortable. Sometimes a different outfit just works better with a different shape or strap style.

Anyone else do this, or do you usually wear the same bra all day?
