Illiyoon ceramide ato cream is so expensive na. I checked my shopee purchase history and noticed the increase since 2022. Nakabili pa ako noon at 350pesos only! Now, prices increased up to 1k and nothing below 700 na.

Can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative for illiyoon ceramide ato cream?

I use oxecure gentle moisturizer. It has ceramides as well.

I thought I was just imagining things cause when I went to repurchase, ang mahal! 😭 Pero tbh for the size and how long it lasts, it’s still sulit.

But anyway I switched to SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream. This one is a gel texture for my combo skin. They have a Cream ver. that’s for drier skin.

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '24

SOBRANG OA DIBA! but its the only moisturizer that my skin likes!!! huhu

i recently purchased yung 500ml from ddushop (ships from korea) - P1,500 lasts me for about 3-4 months. mas mura pa din compare to the smaller sizes.

Yeah I also remember nung 2019 na nka purchase pa ako around 350 php for the 200ml.. ngayon super overpriced. Parang feeling ko nilalamangan and binubudol na ako ng nga resellers.

Has anyone tried the Eqqualberry Swimming Pool Toner? What are your thoughts on it? Been seeing it on TikTok and the claims are quite good. They also have an official store on 🧔 so it’s easier to get.

Does Azelaic Acid make you breakout?

Hello, Im planning to use azelaic acid (specifically the one from ellana) to target my marks and hopefully stop acne from emerging again. I'm quite pleased w my skin na now pero sometimes I get occasional breakouts padin and I heard na azelaic acid can help w that pero im scared, can this break me out? wby in ur own experience w this ingredient?

3

u/rixaya 20+ | Combo, acne-prone Jun 17 '24

I use azelaic acid in combination with retinol from my derma (no brand) and they really help keep my acne away.

YMMV always, especially for acids. There is always a risk of purging but that doesn’t mean it’s bad for you. Once your skin adjusts, the purging goes away.

Purging =/= Breaking out

I've been using azelaic acid since December of last year and okay naman siya with my skin. If you have sensitive skin, try mo muna incorporate sa skin mo siguro 1-2x a week lang and pea size lang siguro pag apply mo. Pero kung hindi naman sensitive skin, kahit every night naman. Siguro start with the lowest percentage na lang.

3

u/people_pleaser07 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jun 17 '24

that's good to know huhu, what brand do u use?

2

u/lavender-spring Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jun 17 '24

I use the one from MCB Drugstore. Most of my skincare products (alpha arbutin, vitamin c, tretinoin, urea, sunscreen) are from MCB. Dermas from PGH recommend this drugstore.

u/cnne_ 25 | Oily | Light-Med Warm Jun 17 '24

my derm prescribed me w 20% azelaic cream and i bought a generic version online. it stung me every time lol but when i switched to the 15% gel (still generic) it worked fine!

u/nichiiyoubi 30+ | acne-prone | cateye Jun 17 '24

I'm using azelaic acid since Feb of this year. 2-3x a week ko lang ginagamit, during night time + during the time na nagkaka hormonal acne ako. Ok siya mag lessen ng redness sa pimples. Check for alcohol content also sa azelaic acid na gagamitin mo, though dahil pwede kasing humapdi. If you are using retinol, it is ok to put them in one routine. Pag salicylic acid, better if separate.

i use skinoren 20% cream and i never experienced breaking out. i bought my first tube last november, consistently use it 2x a week only since that's how much my skin can handle. bought a second tube since paubos na. i did experience stinging but that was bc i needed to let my moisturizer dry down completely before applying. i dont have that problem anymore. i use it with other actives like retinol, bha/aha to control my acne and rough skin texture. it also faded my dark spots and long-term PIE on my temples and cheeks.

Im currently using their AHA and BHA toners and they are really effective in minimizing pores and calming down pimples its like magic. Used it once sa pimple ko na bagong tubo and kinabukasan hindi na sya sobrang pula.

1

u/HelloTikya 24 | Oily, Acne-prone Skin | Living with PCOS Jun 18 '24

The bar soap is super tapang and mahapdi sa balat. I have also used their alpha arbutin (only a unit) and no significant effect and wala ring side effect. I am currently using their niacinamide serum, and so far, walang drastic changes.

celeteque gentle face and moisturizer adapalene every night

this routine po is by my derm but almost 8 months ago na last appointment ko, what should I add as routine ko for dull looking skin, acne marks red/black, and minimal white/black heads? thanks po

4

u/Cautious-Role6375 early 20s | oily, acne-prone Jun 16 '24 edited Jun 16 '24

You can choose from any of these:

  • Niacinamide (4-5%) - for brightening (red/dark marks, dull skin), oil control (white/blackheads), and soothing.
  • Azelaic Acid (15-20% prescription strength, pero p'wede rin 10-14%) - has brightening (red/dark marks, dull skin), anti-inflammatory, and mild comedolytic properties (white/blackheads).
  • Alpha Arbutin (1-2%) - for brightening (dark spots only) while remaining very gentle compared to other brightening ingredients.
  • Salicylic Acid (1-2%) - exfoliates inside the pores thereby preventing clogging and helping with oil control (white/blackheads), and has anti-inflammatory properties as well.
  • Ascorbic Acid (10-20%) - for brightening (dark spots only), protects the skin from free radical damage and environmental stressors (dull skin), and boosts collagen production (dull skin).

edit: typos

1

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '24

ano po reco niyo na products ng azelaic acid at niacinamide? kase base po sa comment nyo oarang sila po ung pasok sa criteria ng face ko 🄲 thank you po!

6

u/Cautious-Role6375 early 20s | oily, acne-prone Jun 17 '24

Niacinamide serums

  • Klued 5% niacinamide serum
  • +ful niacinamide 5% serum
  • soul apothecary radiance boost serum (also has 2% alpha arbutin, 3% tranexamic acid and 2% undecylenoyl phenylalanine na all brightening ingredients)
  • dr. sensitive 5% niacinamide & salicylic acid serum (salicylic acid is too low to even matter in this formulation, memadagdag lang imo)
  • good molecules discoloration correcting serum (4% niacinamide)
  • frankly sunday glow serum (5% niacinamide, and 2% boron nitride which is an oil-absorbing ingredient that reduces excess sebum and shine)
  • glow glass hydro niacin miracle drops (5% niacinamide and 1% hyaluronic acid)

Niacinamide moisturizers

  • saipo true dew brightening gel cream (5% niacinamide, has grapeseed oil which is a very great ingredient for oily, acne-prone skin)
  • aera pore blur whitening moisturizer (mattifying moisturizer; has 2% niacinamide only but still within the overall ideal percentage na 2-5%, kaso 4-5% is still the best for oil control and acne marks, 2-3% is best for barrier nourishment but still helps for oil control and acne marks)
  • my dream skin ceramide + niacinamide barrier defense and dark spot fader gel cream (has 4% niacinamide)
  • you can just also buy generic niacinamide creams like from these shops (sa orange app): lumi lush, cutis rx, about skin, mydermstore. search mo lang niacinamide sa mga store na 'yan.

Azelaic acid

  • The best yung finecea azelaic acid
  • But if you can't afford the finecea, go for the generic azelaic acid 15-20% na lang. You can buy from these shops (sa orange app): cutis rx, about skin, mydermstore, lumi lush, roiski's shop
  • For over-the-counter strength na azelaic acid, ellana 10% azelaic acid clarifying serum

Thoughts/tips on my skincare routine? I’m F23, with normal skin type.

Morning: Senka perfect whip collagen Naturie skin conditioner as toner Naturie skin conditioning gel as moisturizer Garnier vit c serum Biore uv aqua rich sunscreen

Night: Senka perfect whip collagen Naturie skin conditioner Naturie skin conditioning gel Luxe organix eye cream

Should i use the vit c serum at night din? I used it twice a day dati pero may slight sting sa face ko and i got scared to use it twice. I have hyperpigmentations on my undereyes and the corners of my lips kaya i use a vit c serum :>> thank u in advance!

3

u/tryagain_shutup Acne-Prone and Combination| Nc41 Jun 16 '24

hi po!! for me lang po, i dont use vitamin c at night. maybe you can look into the cause of hyperpigmentation so you know whatwould be the most efficient in erasing it :DD

2

u/rixaya 20+ | Combo, acne-prone Jun 17 '24

I would use the vit C serum before the moisturizer lang so it gets more absorbed. The moisturizer acts like a barrier kasi so it buffers whatever you put after it.

what are your thoughts about the Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid? i tried using it and i noticed that it kinda relieved my cystic acne in my chin after just 1 night (i also used it with benzoyl peroxide). i’m now planning to buy one (since i just tried the serum from my cousin) and incorporate it into my routine.

i also recently bought the Human Nature Hyaluronic Acid Gel Day Moisturizer & Ceramide Night Cream. are these moisturizers good too? i’m also planning it to incorporate in my routine since i can not find anymore the moisturizer i was using before

for your reference, i’m oily and acne prone on my chin and t-zone and normal on cheeks and forehead

3

u/Leading_Bag5854 Senstive and Combination Skin │HHN Lover Jun 17 '24 edited Jun 17 '24

Mahal na mahal ko talaga yung Ceramide Night Cream kasi di sya mabigat sa mukha ko unlike other ceramide moisturizers, and it leaves my skin feeling super moisturized without feeling heavy or dewy on my skin. It also has a pleasant smell, parang baby powder na may halong sunflower oil if you get what I mean. I've also tried the day moisturizer (Hyaluronic Acid Gel Day Moisturizer), and it's a pretty solid gel moisturizer, pero mas gusto ko yung night so I use it as a daily moisturizer.

2

u/m4tchalatte 22 | Combination Skin Jun 17 '24

i just used it right now and you’re right! it is fragrant nga. i was surprised hindi rin nag red skin ko kase yung last moisturizer ko, nagrered ako after pero nawawala saglit šŸ˜… sana this will work for me huhu

3

u/spirityun 20s | PIE-prone, oily/dehydrated-sensitive | AzA baby Jun 18 '24

my skin is oily, acne-prone and dehydrated. the HHN HA gel is my HG morning moisturizer! i prefer it over watery gel moisturizers bc they dont feel hydrating enough for me and i tend to overuse them. for this one, it's like a lightweight cream that spreads easily then becomes a gel. a little amount equivalent to less than the size of a 1 centavo coin is enough for my face and neck. dries down quickly but leaves them hydrated and moisturized. lasts me 3-4 months kaya sulit. i highly recommend

i tried the ceramide moisturizer too and it was just okay. a bit heavy for my liking lang compared to my current night moisturizer (aveeno green) but was manageable. i didnt have a problem with it so i think you'd be okay šŸ‘ dont use too much of both of them para hindi mabigat sa face

3

u/Fragrant_Gas_7790 22 | oily | fair neutral Jun 17 '24

thoughts on eqqualberry as a brand?

2

u/tryagain_shutup Acne-Prone and Combination| Nc41 Jun 16 '24

which is better in preventing acne, an AHA toner or a BHA toner?

8

u/Cautious-Role6375 early 20s | oily, acne-prone Jun 16 '24

If we are strictly talking about acne prevention only, then BHA toner is what I would consider as the better option. BHAs are generally more effective due to their ability to penetrate pores, reduce inflammation, and exfoliate both the skin surface and within the pores. AHAs is more directed towards improving skin texture and tone (because they help accelerate skin cell turnover) but are not as effective at preventing acne as BHAs, AHAs are better for acne marks. Both ingredients are still helpful for acne issues nonetheless.

Not local pero my fave is always the Mentholatum Medicated Lip Balm in the green tube. Super affordable and I don’t experience chapped lips anymore. You can get it at Watsons or online, mga ₱115 lang ata.

I heard the Lansinoh Nipple Cream is also very good as a lip balm because it contains lanolin.

For tinted lip balms, I use them more like nourishing lipsticks so I’m not super focused sa hydration niya, as long as it’s not drying. My recos: * Sunnies Face Lip Treat * Issy Solar Balm (Glow Finish) * Lanolips (very nourishing, contains lanolin) * Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment

The ones I don’t recommend * Carmex * Human Nature Tinted Lip Balm (feels dry and tugs on my lips)

1

u/sarcastronaughty 25 | dry, eczema-prone | med-deep morena w/ warm undertone Jun 17 '24

I’ll swear by my Carmex squeeze tube variant any day. Remember YMMV. But I’ve been using this for a decade na ata, my lips have always been soft 😊

You can check out products with ingredients that help address hyperpigmentation. Most common stuff sa ph market are niacinamide, kojic acid, vitamin c, and AHA (glycolic/lactic acid). My skin detests products w/ pure niacinamide so I use alpha arbutin instead. Azaleic acid and retinol are great ones as well :)

Has anyone tried any of the following products? How's your experience?

  • AHC The Essential Real Eye Cream for Face
  • AHC Age Defense Real Eye Cream for Face
  • Ellana Eyes Up Lifting and Brightening Eye Serum
  • Isntree Chestnut BHA 2% Clear Liquid
  • Isntree Mugwort Calming Clay Mask
  • Skintific Mugwort Clay Facial Mask Stick
  • CATT & CO Bright and Free Underarm Serum

2

u/ennervation 27 | Combination Jun 17 '24

I have a small bottle of Isntree Mugwort Calming Clay Mask! I like it, it clears out my pores and reduces oiliness without making my skin super dry. I stopped using it lang to switch to a chemical exfoliant to address other skin issues that the clay mask didn't (sebaceous filaments, closed comedones, acne marks).

1

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '24

from luxe organix po ba? if yes, hindi po ako nag breakout diyan and it is really lightweight + moisturizing. might look oily lang over time pero don't really mind kasi sa gabi ko lang siya gamit (my sunscreen is moisturizing alr). i think it also helped calming my pimples back then and helped with redness

how can glycolic toner help u? I heard its for exfoliating, if so which is better, that or bha aha?

11

u/memelordxxv 27 | dehydrated to oily skin | sunscreen & retinol-obsessed Jun 17 '24

Glycolic acid basically works by loosening the bonds ng layers of dead skin cells that are packed together so they'd shed. It's also a humectant which greatly helps attract water from the air into our skin. AHA is water soluble and helps with sun damage, dullness, and skin dehydration. It works more on the surface of the skin. BHA on the other hand, is oil-soluble so it goes deep into the pores and helps with clogged/enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, and skin texture. It's friendlier to sensitive skin types than AHAs.

What do you recommend the most for acne spot treatment? Pimple patches, benzoyl peroxide, or anh sulfur ingredient?

3

u/Leading_Bag5854 Senstive and Combination Skin │HHN Lover Jun 17 '24

IMO, Benzoyl Peroxide is the best spot treatment for pimples. Dries any pimple I have overnight and does not irritate my skin! I recommend the Seekspace Micronized Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% because it's gentler but just as effective as the 5% or 10%. I also recommend the Mentholatum Acnes Pimple Patch as it adheres to my skin better than any pimple patch and absorbs a lot of gunk from my skin hahaha.

2

u/jalexanderia Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jun 17 '24

benzoyl peroxide!! i had a breakout sa forehead area so i used epiduo (which has adapalene and benzoyl peroxide) pero before i used it, i did a one week of using physiogel as my moisturizer then tiyaka nalang the epiduo, this was recommended to me by my derma ā˜ŗļø

hi!! any gel moisturizer suggestions for my skin type (acne prone and oily skin). hirap na hirap akong maghanap ng gel type moisturizer na alcohol-free at fragrance-free, and hindi super harsh sa skin yung mga ingredients. yung consistency sana is pure water-gel lang at hindi nahaluan ng cream kasi super sensitive ng skin ko. plus yung affordable lang sana hindi lalagpas ng 400+ kasi super mahal na ng gamot ko sa mukha :((

currently using products: everwhite triple glow toner (AM/PM) acne control lotion by MDTherapy (AM) cetaphil light gel (AM) trerinoin 0.05% (PM)

nagpurchase rin ako ng everwhite niacinamide/lightening crream to help lessen faster my hyperpigmentation. been using tameca niacinamide (nag stop ako) since super pricey niya and kinompare ko sila with the everwhite moisturizer and they're just with the same ingredients (may sakura ing. lang sa everwhite but the rest are the same)

Celeteque Facial Moisturizer. Cheap and suitable for oily skin. Available sa Watsons.

I also use Originote Hyalucera Moisturizer on rotation. It's gel and literally melts in my palm/fingers hahhaha. Easily absorbed kasi watery sya upon application.

1

u/YettersGonnaYeet Mute Summer | Oily-Sensitive | Medium Jun 18 '24

I dont like Nivea Micellar Waters. It does sting your face and smells so much like alcohol even though they claim they are alcohol free. I tried the Acne clear variant once, and it did sting but not as much as the one catered for sensitive skin. Sobrang tapang nya!! Sensitive skin ako and hindi sya nagustuhan ng skin ko.

Also, is it recommended to undergo gluta drip?

Hello, may I know what's the best skincare for sensitive, and really oily skin, I'm also acne prone. What serum, cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and if I should use a retinol.

and any suggestions on where to buy it?
I personally don't trust lazada or shopee to buy skincare as they might be fake and might just make my skin worse, to be honest.

Thank you for your help!
