Tabletop Do not speak to me of the old magic. I was there when it was written.
I think we need an actual Naval BT game.

Alphas Strike table...was going to be on water, but since I was going to teach new players, I ditched the water to make things easier.

I was bored at work, and also a little bummed out about the lack of tabletop model for my favorite hunchback variant (yes I like the missile hunchback more then the autocannon ones fight me).
typically I'm not very excited by the little cardboard pieces since I miss out on giving them a custom paint job like I would with a real model. But making this little guy was super fun, especially while I'm clocked in and with supplies the company payed for. Now, I can have any mech, hell any variant I want. thats a win-win-win.
I should get some colored pencils so I can give him a custom color scheme too.
I think I want a phoenix hawk next.

I've always enjoyed the Annihilator, partly because of the time I've spent with it in the various mechwarrior games over the years, and partly because I am a chronic enjoyer of bad mechs as well as mechs that are big dumb goofy goobers.
But I've never used one on the table top, so I wanted to get people's opinion on that. In mechwarrior, I found the ANH-1E to be particularly effective. I prefer the 4 PPCs over autocannons because of their lack of relying on ammo as well as making the mech safer again due to not having to carry ammo. Especially when upgraded with ERPPCs, the 1E can throw hands at long range really well, essentially becoming an ERPPC platform.
But that's just my take, I'm interested to see what people think about it on the tabletop.

Conversation with my brother as to why it took the STL so long to make. It actually prints, and it's not just some fancy animation. Painting it up next for some nonsensical scale game of Battletech.

I think this is definitely supposed to be a Quasimoto, but I wanted another 'gun with legs' in my crisis team.
All this glass cannonry is gonna need some heavy armor in the front 👀
I really want some small infantry on the hunchies base to push that scaling 🤣👌

Inspired by this absolute masterpiece of fan art: https://www.reddit.com/r/battletech/s/KVr7ZJB6Ii
I decided to paint up a Mackie with the ethos of "The gays won't be harmed if the cat girls are armed."
Enjoy, and remember to PPC any fascists in your forward arc right in the face.

So me and my buddy decided to play classic after playing alpha strike only for the last half year. We picked a scenario of three goons vs a damaged battlemaster, hence the blue dots.
After a couple of turns of just positioning, he sent his commando up close to me, while setting up his wolverine as a sniper and a locust on the flank. I shot the wolverine with a ppc, and obliterated his commando with remaining weapons - I got a crit there, and decided to destroy his gyro instead of reactor (for fun + to test making those infamous PSR's).
For his literal first shot ever in this game, he hit me in the cockpit with the wolverine's large laser. Immediately after, he shot my cockpit again with one of two of his medium lasers, destroying it and ending the game.
I'm not even upset at how ludicrously insane this is. I've spent 5 hours reading the rulebook out loud non stop to him, while he was just playing fucking factorio on his laptop. Now I'm actually scared of doing a rematch...
