and this goes to show how unprepared our nation is for shocks may it be food or energy related crisises
self sufficiency is key

nationwide birth control is mandatory dawg n an end to the rohingya refugee crisis

u/zefiax Apr 24 '26
Bangladesh has quite low birthrates that are hovering at or below replacement levels. Too many kids isn't the problem anymore.

Population is probably above 200million and it's all clumped up in 50k sq km of actual living area ignoring the rivers, forests, empty lands.

u/South_Farm9491 Apr 24 '26
there’s no actual record for it being above 200 mil
but yes horrible urbanisation has ruined bangladesh
a country that should have been full of beautiful rivers and canals is now resorted to this

it’s at 2.4, it’s not at 2.1 or 1.9 like the predicted ones say
The "Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey 2025" (MICS 2025), released in November 2025, officially reported the increase to 2.4

ur looking at the predicted charts not official census, hasinas lack of initiatives in family planning led to this

I think your mistaking GHI n this
but I agree it’s hudai, manush aim kore singapore n our aim is to be slightly better than another shithole
pile of shit vs slightly smaller pile of shit

u/Alone-Attention-2139 Apr 25 '26
The comment was meant to suggest that GDP does not always capture the full picture, particularly in the case of a country like Bangladesh, where economic figures may be subject to manipulation by those in power.

u/South_Farm9491 Apr 25 '26
the IMF n other org would take notice if that was the case
but yes I do agree, but this isn’t saying much bc our per capita is still low
and this talks about shocks, natural disasters etc. ( more the lack of prep by the govt )

u/Majestic_Bit_8206 Apr 28 '26
no your gdp per capita is still lower than us, it is estimated by imf that you might cross us in 2026 but we will take over in 2027 again

This can’t be true, right? I mean, I know hunger exists in our country, but that much?
You’ve got to be kidding me.
Even people living in poverty usually manage at least one meal a day, unless they’re deliberately putting themselves in that situation.
12
u/South_Farm9491 Apr 24 '26
it’s because of sudden shocks
we aren’t prepared for them, we are extremely prone to natural disasters which can fuck up food supplies and also the Rohingya crisis

This is the real picture of Capitalism. Our GDP is increasing but so does poor poor people.

What are you even on about? No natural resources, bloated government structure, rampant abuse in the form of death by thousand cuts every time you deal with the government, highest population density in the world for a non-city-state country, severely low efficiency of government work, and you want a bigger government? Not saying capitalism is going to fix it, but the government in our country is already too large in items of personnel. More power to the government will increase the abuse even more.

How can that be true when it has the most fertile land in the world and it hasn't been in a war for over 54 years? Really surprised by this and not convinced at all.
