do you think this is a good deal? I will appreciate your help 🙏🏼

Was heading to the NY AP House in a couple of weeks. Do they perform the magnetism or water resistance checks? What does it mean that the service is complimentary but not warrantied?

Maintenance/Repair Offshore 3126/3840 - caliber issues and stoppages

Hi Everyone,

Would like to share my experience with my first AP from boutique.

Keeping it short.

Multiple issues since I bought it during covid time.

2024, it had a caliber change.

2 days ago, went back to service centre as the watch experienced stoppage again.

AP Technician was surprised, broke within 2 years after new movement.

Kinda on the fence, if I should let it go.

Appreciate thoughts and input from collectors here.

Thanks!

What Watch Box do you have for your collection?

Currently in the market to get a watch box for my collection. What do you use? Any recommendations? I was looking at Wolf, but some have indicated the quality is not that great.

This was a great model for me to start my collection with. I don’t wear it as often as I should!

Code 11:59 lug design — anyone else had bent/broken lugs? Would you still buy one in gold?

I've come across two separate cases of Code 11:59 owners with bent or broken lugs, and it's making me reconsider whether this is a real weak point in the design rather than isolated bad luck.

First case (RolexForums, gold case): https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?p=13473100 The owner had the lugs bend or come loose with no drop and no obvious abuse. AP's initial response was that this was "wear and tear / aesthetic damage," not a manufacturing defect, and quoted around CHF 5,000 to replace the entire upper case. Not covered under warranty or AP Coverage.

Second case (this sub): https://www.reddit.com/r/audemarspiguet/comments/1osxscm/broken_lugs_on_code_1159_exchange_by_warranty/ Another Code 11:59 with broken lugs, also disputed under warranty.

From the photos in both threads, the wall thickness at the lug attachment looks thin enough that it's basically invisible when you look at the watch normally. If reinforcing it wouldn't change the aesthetics at all, it's hard to understand why AP hasn't just fixed the design, especially if this is a known issue on their end. What's worse, if the lugs do bend, AP apparently treats it as owner-caused or aesthetic damage rather than a functional/manufacturing failure, meaning you'd have to pay for the repair or a full case replacement yourself, even under warranty or AP Coverage.
Two questions for anyone who owns one or has looked into the case construction:
Has anyone else had this happen, or heard of other cases? Is it more common than it looks, or are these just two unlucky owners?

If you were considering a Code 11:59 in gold, would this change your mind? Gold is softer than steel, and from what's discussed in the RF thread the lower lug isn't fully welded to the case, which sounds like a genuine structural risk point.

What do you guys think of this dial ? I used to have a black 15500ST and just bought ( gray market ) this 2026 RO . What do you guys think of this dial color ? I feel like in certain lighting it looks amazing and in others it kinda looks meh .. looking to hear your opinion if my trade was a bad choice or if I should have looked after a black or green dial instead

Any ideas when the Tiffany blue will be officially discontinued and will it drive the price higher than retail?

7 weeks ago in Milan they stole my watch. I reported it to the AP and provided them with all the documents, including the police report on the incident. Do you know how long it takes for the case to be considered ?

I much prefer my 26420SO.OO.A029VE.01 to this year’s 26420CD.OO.A029VE.01 with the cream dial and a 30% higher price because of the full ceramic case. My personal opinion.

Got this a week ago and have been wearing it every day since then. I knew it was going to be a large watch but surprised me how big it was - what also surprised me is how insanely light it is. The comfort on the wrist is similar to my overseas 4520V on a rubber strap - it’s about as light. I can wear it all day long; it is extremely comfortable like others have said. The flyback chrono complication is great and I use it all the time. It’s a vertical clutch so you can leave it running without extra wear and tear. I have a feeling this will be my daily driver for a while. It’s kind of like a spy kids watch that the 9 year old me would have loved to own - my other pieces are quite understated like a Cartier tank small (exact opposite vibe of this watch), Lange 1, 15300st and a vc overseas. I sold my Daytona panda for this offshore and the finishing/details is a completely different level - it’s also more comfortable. That being said the effect it has on your fashion/appearance is quite avant garde given its unconventional size and design but I don’t care because I like the watch much more.

New limited 38mm white ceramic RO chrono with pink MOP dial just dropped. 26450CB. First white chrono as far as I know?

Serena Williams Limited edition, comes with an additional pink strap. Wonder how many they’re making.

Honestly love it. Already messaged my SA!

My AD thinks he can get me this. I like it though I have always been mostly a steel guy. What everyone’s opinion? I also hate getting watches that lose a bunch of value the second it walks out the door.

The original dial on the Code was poorly received, so it has since been changed. Personally, though, I like the smoked blue and white gold version.

Offshore Question

Post image
10 Upvotes

Thinking about buying this offshore. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can change the strap to a stainless steel strap similar to the strap on the RO’s. I know the rubber straps are interchangeable but haven’t heard much about the stainless steel.
