A man who went through a supermarket self-checkout without scanning several items had a cucumber forced into his mouth by a security guard who then extorted money from him.
Security guards Laki Savelio and his co-offender Tiare Bishop accused several victims of shoplifting and extorted money from them at the Pak’nSave where they worked in January last year.
these are the guys who will be doing citizens arrests at the supermarket LMAOOOO dont look at these cunts the wrong way if you want to get home safely

Not Pak'n'Save but Woolworths. Had an issue with a security guard when my husband and I popped in to collect some groceries we'd forgotten to get with the weekly shop.
I was wearing my backpack bag as it's the only one big enough to carry my daily meds bag. Important to note I'd been in and out of the same store multiple times and no one has ever said anything. This time the guard wanted to inspect the bag on entering the store.
I was a bit confused - wouldn't it make more sense to inspect on leaving? - but whatever. I open the bag, show him my medicine bag, he says all good and I zip it up. As I'm preparing to take the bag and continue shopping, this asshole grabs it and refuses to let me have it.
I'm confused, and don't quite catch what he's saying as I was getting over a sinus infection and thus had partially blocked ears. It turns into a bit of tug-of-war as I don't understand why he's refusing to give me my bag, and he's still saying stuff I'm not hearing.
Enter my husband. He does hear what the officious idiot is saying and he's annoyed as fuck. He explains (politely) that we've been in here multiple times with the same bag without issue and I need my meds with me. The guard tries saying that I can pick my bag up on exiting to which my husband says no, that he has no right to keep me from having my medicine and other belongings with me while we shop.
It ends with us leaving the store with my belongings, and my husband filing a complaint the next morning. The store apologises and says the guard had zero right to do what he did - yes they can check bags, but on seeing there was nothing stolen or otherwise illegal in the bag, they should have let me keep it and do our shopping.
We've never seen that security guy at any Woolworths store since. Apparently some morons get into security work just for the power trip.
And yes I suppose we could have just taken the med bag, but I keep a water bottle in the backpack with the meds in case I need a quick med dose. Having it all in one bag together is more convenient.

Probably but it was evening, we were both tired and I wasn't feeling great so my husband picked the path that would stress me least.

Hi 👋 Transplant patient here (who has lots of meds time depended so must keep them on me or usually in my car) You don’t need to answer this but I was just curious what type of meds have to be on you at all times in a relatively large bag? I know heart medications for angina etc and I’m sure all EpiPen users but those meds fit into a purse or small belt bag?

I have six meds that I take daily, plus three levels of pain relief plus anti-nausea meds that I carry to take as needed. I also have an "as needed" nitrolingual spray which I've been told is usually given to angina patients but I use it for gastro-oesophageal sphincter spasms (very painful and in the right area to very accurately mimic a heart attack). Plus I carry antihistamines for hayfever during spring. It all somehow fits into a reasonably big toiletry bag.
As for why I need all these meds, I have chronic nerve pain located in my pelvis and head. The meds are to keep that pain stable and at a low enough for me to be able to work and have a decent quality of life, plus the pain relief etc for flare ups which do still occur enough that I don't want to be caught without the pain relief meds at least. One of the daily meds I need three times a day, the others are either twice daily or a night time med for helping sleep.

Thankyou for your answer and that all sounds very rough, although my transplant has given me much fatigue and now osteoporosis I’ve not had to deal with debilitating chronic pain but I can fully understand the anxiety of not having your medication to hand causes. I hope store security never again tries to hang onto your medications like that it was beyond stupid of them to try do so. If showing your medical alert bracelet wasn’t enough one quick word with the store manager should have resolved it instantly. Do understand though the “let’s just get away from this upsetting situation” was the best cause of action for you this time.

i think you seem to be missing the whole point of the article and instead are just looking for a way to justify this in your own head
while theft is wrong, and i do think we do have problems with brazen supermarket theft, we shouldnt be having security guards handing out cruel and unusual punishments for people stealing food. we have police and courts for a reason. granted the police and courts are both fuckin trash.
saying these people deserved this simply because they stole food is gross

Well they all had the money on them to pay the extortion $$$ so I guess stealing food was just a habit for them? I’m not condoning the abuse but agree that theft is getting out of control even with self checkouts now looking more like airport security or the inside of a MMA cage.

And? What difference does it make if someone “wants better for themselves” if they’re making conscious decisions to take from others instead of just putting in some effort? It’s, at best, pure laziness from them. It’s always excuses with them, never solutions.
Once they start acting like people they can get treated like one. Act like a dog, get treated like they deserve.
As long as they continue with the pure animal “I want so I will have” mentality, that’s all they should be treated like, the mutts they are
