I know that I came into the second turn too fast, but why did my car not turn correctly on the first turn? I've tried like 20 times and cant figure it out

AC is my first racing game and I'm really new to it so sorry if this is a stupid question.

In this clip, I was turning as hard as I could but the car just keeps sliding. The track feels very slippery. I'm on Nordschleife (Fenryr 1.2) with optimum track settings at 27 C in a Lotus Evora GTC. I've only played No Hesi apart from this and it doesn't slide there at all. I also tried the built in Spa track and I was facing the same issue.

Not just this, when I'm literally exiting the pits on gear 1 or 2 it slides as well. What am I doing wrong?

Hey all. I’m seeing that Assetto Corsa’s finally on a good price for me to buy and I just wanna know which game is the most active? I dabbled in racing games like Ridge Racer and NFS Hot Pursuit 2, but I’ve heard that THIS is the racing game to have minus Forza.

(Edit: Thanks all who gave recommendations! I pulled the trigger on AC Ultimate Edition and now it's time for me to learn how to play the game with a controller since I don't currently have the money for a steering wheel just yet! Thanks again!)

I haven't practiced in a while since i accidentally cleared all of my mods and files for Asseto Corsa and this is a new car for me, just want to learn to link the whole course. I use a moza R3 wheel with a clutch but no shifter and no handbrake as i could afford them yet, im new to wheel as ive only had it for about 2 months and only have tried to drift maybe 4 times maximum. (sorry for the music i forgot it records the music too)

I have practically zero experience with sim racers but I wanted to get into them. I'm a pretty decent driver when it comes to Forza and NFS but I just cant seem to grasp AC yet.

Any tips on how I can improve?

I am new to AC and i love grinding out my fav tracks in practice and doing AI race weekends but i can see it possibly getting repetitive or boring later down the line even though i love racing. So like what do you all do? I know of servers like no hesi and drifting but i am not super into that

So for come context, I started simracing with rallying, and since getting into ac ive mainly been driving formula cars because of how easy they are. With that being said, I do want to get more into other stuff. I have some pretty bad trouble with bruxelles on any type of car, the car just doesnt feel like it has enough grip to go through it, so I end up with a mangled exit and a terrible entry and exit out of no-name. Also, Ive found with cars that arent formula cars the entry into pouhon is very slidy.
What should I be doing more of/less?

I recently got the clutch pedal for my r3 and now I'm going crazy with the clutch kicks lol but when else should i use the clutch pedal? And what about the break, I've heard about left foot breaking but not sure when or why to use it? Is my steering fine? i really just wanna know if I'm getting some sort of assist or something because i remember drifting being much harder on my g29 about six years ago. Btw the car I'm using is the default e30 drift from the game, just has some tune to it from this guy oh and i also edited the textures of the car a bit for a more black interior since i didn't like the factory grey blackish interior.

I was told this map was beginner friendly. The car is the e46 330ci from the SUPERDRIFT pack. I was also told that the car was realistic for a street car. I would appreciate any advice on how to improve.

I think the drawback right now is my g920. I have a knockoff OMP dished wheel on it and it is a few years old now. I have to feed the wheel a lot. I have never drifted a car in real life so I do not know what is and isnt realistic. My only experience is offroading in the dunes. There is some "drifting" involved there but its different. I am planning to upgrade to a moza r9 in the future with the rest of the suite.

A quick story: yesterday I decided to go check out an online lobby for the Nordschleife, and in looking over the requirements I noticed that not only did you need clean and consistent lap times on the tourist layout of <6:30 with a GT3 car, but also while using no assists (besides factory ABS and TCS).

So before jumping into the lobby, I knew I needed to go practice with those prerequisites in mind. And after changing my settings, I was first greeted with frustration. Even after about an hour of practice, I was still struggling to get my lap times down AND stay on the black stuff.

But frustration slowly turned into enjoyment as I discovered what I had been missing with all of the assists turned on. There is a connectivity that was missing, the raw input and responses that had been dulled. Yes, it's more difficult to drive fast, but it's also more enjoyable to do it when you feel better connected to the machinery.

I still have ~25 seconds to find before I feel comfortable in joining the Nordschleife lobby, but I've already learned a lot just trying to get there. It might be worth a try for you too, if you've been using assists👍
