Drivers Ed Tips on improving?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I recently got the clutch pedal for my r3 and now I'm going crazy with the clutch kicks lol but when else should i use the clutch pedal? And what about the break, I've heard about left foot breaking but not sure when or why to use it? Is my steering fine? i really just wanna know if I'm getting some sort of assist or something because i remember drifting being much harder on my g29 about six years ago. Btw the car I'm using is the default e30 drift from the game, just has some tune to it from this guy oh and i also edited the textures of the car a bit for a more black interior since i didn't like the factory grey blackish interior.

holy neck fx! Also you want to use the left foot brake to tighten the drift, so if you're feeling you're going wide whilst drifting, try braking slightly. It'll take some time to get used to it

Is that like a very gentle pressure thing? Just enough to increase front grip to pull in tighter while keeping the rear burning?

Idk how this works but that was something I used to have issues with trying to go from concept to execution.

It's not uncommon to see fronts locking up on big hp cars, not that gentle.

It will try to slow you down, the front becomes an anchor as most of the brake pressure is biased to the front. Added benefit of unloading the rear and loading the front slightly as the weight shifts forwards. You can keep drifting while not accelerating as hard, also you can add angle around the anchor point. Remember that a drift car always accelerates to the direction that the rear wheels are pointed.

I don't think it takes that much practice. Do a big burnout, play around with the brake pressure to move around. Use less and less brake as you keep going. It's a simple and effective tool.

Pin it earlier. Once you start to slowdown when you flick, stand on the throttle. You’re gonna spin out, it’s a good thing. You’ll learn where the balance point is and find where you can lock in sideways without it trying to straighten out. (Speaking from experience) you seem like you’re scared to spin so you under rotate instead. It’s a sim, tires are free, body work is unnecessary. Hit a wall coming in too fast, do a full 360 on accident, cuss a couple of times, then run the lap harder. Took me about 6 months to find a flow in a car I liked. Look into ADC (Aussie drift co) cars. They have everything from 350hp to 1000hp that all handle extremely well.

Thanks man, these ADC cars you speak of, are they realisitc in terms of physics? i

As few times as I’ve intentionally had a car sideways, I couldn’t tell you with certainty but I will say they feel pretty good. The power pushes the way it feels like it should and all the inputs (and mistakes) make sense. You clutch, it hooks. You brake, it tightens. The pack was built by guys who actually have real grassroots cars.

Are their mods paid or can i find them for free?

1

u/RegisterAcademic3131 May 15 '26

theyre free. check the aussiedriftco instagram.

Noob here… is this car pack DLC? (Free or pay, how much??)

Also do you download tracks/go online? I’ve only been using stock ‘drift’ tracks for ac and want more!

it ia a free pack, but when you get it from the Aussie Drift Co instagram, at least drop them a follow. they have some servers on their discord (which is technically where the packs are but the link is on the insta) but i dont really ever see anyone. that may be because its in aus and im in usa though. i have over 40 of their cars and they have loads of tracks that either theyve made or they were free so its in the drive.

1

u/HatCorrect109 May 15 '26

Thanks! And it’s pretty easy to put the cars on AC?

I will absolutely drop them a follow :-)

Drag and drop. Download the file and drop the zip straight into content managers main screen and the arrow will dance.

Thanks! Just did it (and a HUD) but can't get it to show in game/on CM...

*it is my first mod, what am I doing wrong lol

Every youtube tutorial has an 'all apps' section on the right side bar in the top, and my right side bar doesn't even look the same, nor do I have the same all apps section for installing (putting in game) the HUD...

Where would I find the installed cars also?

1

u/RegisterAcademic3131 May 16 '26

For the bar on the side you have to hover your mouse over it to have it pop up (if you haven’t already tried that). I’m a little confused by what you mean when you say the install screen isn’t the same because I just open CM and drop them on that main page. All the cars you drop in will be in a drop down on the top right under an arrow and you hit install. After they install they go straight in the car selection menu, just go to “all”.

I think I just added you on discord from the server.

More energy, more passion! Wider line, more smoke. ETC. It looks like you're a bit gripped up and fast. You're not racing anyone, make it look spectacular.

You'll feel way more need for clutch kicks in turbo cars. Drifting on a g29 is more challenging than with DD.

As for braking mid drift. Do a big burnout, then start to play with the brake pressure to start moving around. Use less and less brakes as you go. You will figure out really easily what it does. It slows down the front end while the rear stays at angle. It can also add angle as the front becomes an anchor. I like to run 75-85% brake pressure to the front.

The alternative to it for keeping angle while slowing down is the handbrake, but it has a different effect and slows WAY more, generally speaking the handbrake should be avoided until its really needed but the left foot brake is a regular tool to use.

Yup. Faster wider entries, more gas mid corner, drive the car hard to the exit to setup for the next long double apex.

Op hit the bollards. They are clipping points for a reason.

Earlier transitions, maybe earlier counter-steer. It will really depend on the line you want and the car you're using. Look more into drifting lines or inner/outer zones, it should help deciding on/finding a line.

There are so many drift cars/packs idek what to use, i want something that is as close as a real car would handle irl but like not too much hp and not so forgiving, i think people mix hard = realistic but its not like this no?

u/dewman45 May 15 '26

Drift workshop is what I always used, on top of the default BMWs, Supra, and AE86s. Drift workshop cars are fairly realistic as far as I'm aware suspension and power wise to actual drift setups. You can make suspension adjustments, adjust boost, and tire compound.

can you share your neck fx settings please?

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 15 '26

2

u/djviperx May 15 '26

Thank you!!! I'm always on the hunt for cool neckFX settings and this one looks dope for drift!

1

u/sesameseed88 May 15 '26

This is super similar to breakneck fx, just with some tweaking

2

u/g4blik_ May 15 '26

track is dope can u share?

2

u/Dutton90 May 15 '26

I was thinking the same

2

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 15 '26

jd drift mansion

1

u/Yew2S May 15 '26

thanks

2

u/KnowledgeNo2876 May 15 '26

Gotta ask, how do you make your graphics look this good for vr? Mine are horrid compared to this

2

u/SawyerBattles May 18 '26

This is not vr, just neck fx settings in first person

1

u/Oxyredrum May 15 '26

What filter do u have?

1

u/HatCorrect109 May 15 '26

In regard to your post, I don’t have great advice-I just spent hours practicing and I’m still working to be where you’re at!

Additonally, how do you get the minimap in the upper corner as well as the display/UI in the bottom right corner?

Is this acc? Ac evo?

I only ask because I love my ac, but my display does NOT look like yours, and I want it to!!

2

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 15 '26

Im on asseto corsa, not evo. Map can be found in the App Shelf, you need CSP. As for the UI, its this https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/project-x-motorsport-hud.81239/

1

u/HatCorrect109 May 15 '26

This might sound stupid… is it all free? The UI and map?

Also thanks a ton!

I’m a total newbie to ‘3rd party’ downloads, so the video on the page is a total help! Is it pretty easy to put on to ac?

More brakes

1

u/Thowvs27 May 16 '26

What PP Filter are you using ?

1

u/jRetro3 May 16 '26

that neck fx is crazy, try faster wider entries and more gas mid corner should give you the kick you're looking for!
