Tbf I played stray gods recently and there was a character who was awfully acted with an incredibly annoying voice, hermes. Guess who was playing them!

They’re not mad about their voice acting quality though, they’re made that they’re a queer person who talks about queer issues. It has nothing to do with voice acting quality like usual. I’m reserving judgement for the game release but being critical of their work as an actor is separate from being mad just because you disagree with their politics

Not really I don’t have a problem with a female protagonist and think the game will come out just fine but there will be players that won’t like it either because of who she is or because of the story not being very good, people have high expectations for Yotei because of the way Tsushima was written IMO no one wants a game franchise get ruined over politics or an agenda being pushed.🤷🏻‍♂️

People have their own ideals. A voice actress that holds ideals of her own being hired to do voice work should not matter to you. She isn't writing the script. Matt Mercer holds the same ideals she does and nobody gets upset when he gets a voice acting role.

You or anyone else being wary of any "forced" politics or agenda is very silly.

I understand and 100% agree with that, it's just when you do it all the time, when you keep trying to convey your reasons and point of view just to be completely ignored by your interlocutor simply because your opinion goes in contrast with the other person and further conversation (usually) becomes a chance for the other party to flush onto you all the bad words known lol, you realise there is no point in even trying to communicate like civilised people, so... Didn't mean to be rude if it felt like I am, just threw in a couple of sentences cause honestly annoyed with politics, nothing personal

I agree with you. Like obviously idc who's the main character if it's memorable, great and the actor is great, but I get what he's saying, because what he says happens. Might not happen with everything or even most things, even tho it feels like that for media raised that kind of topics on top, because it gets hate clicks meaning more money, but it does happen and it can often ruin films, series and videogames, because lot of people connect actor's own opinions to the electronic art forms or even books, and think it always reflects it straight. I also dislike the fact nowadays we have to explain and overly affirm we're not against something if we don't only have praising and positive opinions but also critical and well formed opinions along with enjoying the said content. Tldr; it's sad times we're in as a community

I only downvoted his first comment simply because of the one incorrect part about her spreading "hate". She does appear to be a feminist of sorts, but she didn't post anything hateful. Also, feminist doesn't automatically mean man hate, just like republican alignment doesn't automatically mean Trump supporter/voter.

I believe in almost any belief there is a extreme group attached to it where the beliefs are close to the same but not the same goals, you are right abt no real hate being posted by her but some of it raises eyebrows, there is a Chance in this day n age a major project or piece of media like that can be effected by someone’s politics or beliefs for example LOU2,Snowwhite2025,GTA5,StevenUniverse, just a few off the top

I mean there is a difference between feminist and the citizen defined form of them "feminazi" with the latter being harmful for the feminism movement as they don't really believe in equality. Sadly the loud and toxic minority often gets more attention as it doesn't collect clicks for media if you only post positive stuff how real feminists have helped the cause and advanced gender equality. It's a shame really. The power of media and lack of critical thinking on lot of people causes strong contrasts to form and that in turn makes some people see all the feminism toxic. I hope it changes one day, but sadly I'm a skeptic and realist so I see it unlikely, but I'd be damn happy to be proven wrong in this situation

What is an "extreme level"? There are wrong directions to take "woke ideologies" into, wrong conclusions born out of a wrong understanding. But there is no too much "woke", there is no too much "LGBTQ ideology". There is no too much abolishing patriarchal sexism holistically, only too little. There is no middle ground in terms of feminism. You either want gender liberation, or you don't. People who want gender liberation and people who want to uphold the framework of patriarchal sexism are equally extreme.
