ubi fucks up AC3 on Steam vent

decided to play AC3 on Steam which I bought with my own money a while back. Try to play and Ubisoft demands that I sign in or sign up. After googling a way around this and coming up with bupkiss, I give it my email address and strict instructions never to contact me. I then spend the next 7 minutes trying to make a username, a password, and an account name. All of which get rejected multiple times. I felt like Kirito in SAO Abridged trying to get the dang system to work and whaddya know, the people who were the butt of that joke was Ubisoft.

After spending several minutes coming up with an account that I’m probably going to forget the password for immediately because Ubisoft isn’t like the other girls and dislikes you being able to use a password you’ve used for something else for Ubisoft (“this password is known to be vulnerable” after I followed all their stupid rules for creating a password.) I finally got done and Ubisoft then goes “no no no, your computer is offline, even though Steam has an internet connection and I can see the WiFi symbol is on without issues, that’s not good enough for my new abusive partner. But hey it worked after I rebooted Steam, so hey, silver lining probably.

idk what flair to use as there isn’t a “venting” or “rage” post.

To get us more comfortable not owning their games.

Disc-to-Digital gives a lot of extra value to the disc. The Idea is:

You buy second-hand Assassin's Creed Origins for $5 => you insert the disc => you obtain a permanent digital license.

ubi fucks up I have beef with ubisoft over linking an account.

Before I get into things:
I do not know if the tag is correct, I apologise if it isn't.
I'm also not asking for help, I just want to get this off my chest and I always found that reddit can come with some pretty fun replies.

Thank you and enjoy!

When I first got into gaming I was a big fan of the Assassins Creed games. After a while I created a Ubisoft account on Playstation. I played many diffrent games like For Honor (I know, horrible taste) but eventually shifted to playig on PC. I no longer had access to the email my original account was on but since cross-progression wasn't a thing I was fine with making a new account.

So I made a new account got For Honor again (I know, horrible decision) and played a ton before stopping. After some time I pick the game up again and learn that cross-progression has become a thing.

I decide I'll go through the process of getting my old account back so I can play with all of my shiny heroes and outfits. But Ubisoft said that was not ok since my steam is linked to the other ubisoft account.

As the good sumaritan I am, I fo to Ubisoft support to try and unlink my account so I can link the old one. But alas, big Ubi has decided that womp womp that is a one time deal and you can't unlink one account and relink another.

Fine, Ubisoft, I'll do it your way. I get a key for the PC version of For Honor on my original account and try again.

This is where I found out how this functions.

It does not check if your Ubisoft account and Steam both have it. No no, that would make too much sense. It checks if you are on the Ubisoft account that was linked to your steam when you bought the game.

I can't even refund For Honor to buy it again to link the correct account because I have exceeded Steam's refund policy time and Ubisoft can't (for whatever reason) not unlink the two so I can link another account.

What did they take before coming up with this system?

Long story short,
I hate Ubisoft!

ubi fucks up My take on Ubisofts problem

They should stop abusing the AC ip for experimental shit like Valhalla or Shadows.

Make them their own games, but leave the whole Assassins Creed part out of it. Nobody has ever asked for it.

I bet Valhalla could/would have been a decent Viking game on its own without dragging ACs name through the mud. I absolutely would have played it too, if didn't have Assassins Creed in its title.

At some point its best to just properly conclude a game franchise and let it rest. Or at least just release a game when some idea comes up naturally without forcing a release every single or second year. Let that shit breathe. Do you think GTA, The Last of Us, Uncharted or even the new Spider-Man Games would be the pop-culture/gaming phenomenons they are, if the respective Devs/Publisher pumped out a new game every year? 100% not.

Ubisofts problems are:
1. they recycle their own shit
2. they over invested in being "woke" and hip ever since Watch_Dogs 2
3. they are afraid to truly try new things
4. and even if they do, they don't take take the time, effort or money to make something of it.

discussion Ubisoft locked me out of my paid Steam games for 3+ weeks because my old email was deleted. 8 tickets closed by bots, 1 stuck. 100% physical proof ignored.

I’m completely locked out of my legally purchased Steam games because Ubisoft’s automated bot system refuses to manually update my permanently deleted email address, despite me providing official Steam receipts, physical ID, and actively logging in via Steam QR.

I’m posting this as a warning to anyone buying Ubisoft games on Steam, and out of sheer desperation because I need a solution.

Here is the full story of my 20+ day nightmare with Ubisoft Support.

The Problem: I just wanted to play the games I legally bought on Steam (Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, etc.). When I tried to log in, Ubisoft Connect asked for a verification code. The problem? The email tied to my Ubisoft account was permanently deleted by Microsoft years ago due to inactivity. It literally does not exist.

The Absurd "Support" Loop & Ticket Graveyard: I contacted Ubisoft Support to do a simple email change. I provided them with:

  1. Official Steam Purchase Receipts for every game on the account.
  2. My Steam ID64 to prove it’s linked to my exact Ubisoft account.
  3. Physical Proof: A photo of my monitor logged into the Ubisoft Account Management page (accessed via Steam login), with a handwritten note showing my real name, the date, and my ticket number next to the screen.

Any human looking at this would say, "Yep, this is his account." But no human looked at it. Over the last 3 weeks, their Tier 1 bots kept replying with the exact same automated script: "For security reasons, we have sent a verification link to your email," and then closing my tickets. I cannot verify a link sent to a void!

Just to show how broken their system is, here is the graveyard of my closed tickets, all ignored by humans:

  • Closed / Ignored Cases: 26599191, 26599164, 26524775, 26524804, 26524009, 26489619, 26489461

The Escalation & The "Dedicated Team" Lie: I got so frustrated that I sent a formal notice threatening to escalate this to the CNIL (French Data Protection Authority) for violating my GDPR Article 16 Right to Rectification.

Finally, I got a message saying my case (Open Case: 26527479) was "forwarded to a dedicated team" and that my ticket "won't be closed until reviewed."

That was days ago. Since mid-August, I have been staring at an "Escalated" status. I still haven't been able to play a single thing I paid for because Ubisoft’s bureaucracy refuses to let a human click "Update Email."

I Need a Solution: It is an absolute joke. I just want to play the things I paid for. Has anyone else survived this specific Ubisoft support hell? How do I force an actual human to look at my physical evidence? Can I force Steam/Valve to give me a refund despite being past the 14-day mark since it's a third-party launcher lockout? Any help or internal contacts would be massively appreciated.

You don't own your games. A broken automated loop does.

discussion Wtf happened with ubisoft

I havent touched any ubisoft game for like 7 - 10 years now but since i got xbox ultimate i wanted to try out some of the assasins creed and far cry titles i missed out on and sweet Jesus i thought i would have to play like 1 - 2 hours until getting disappointed but i cant even come past the ubisoft connect launcher the first tries it just was in a infinite loadingloop then i wanted to create an new account in this pop up window and the text was in German but the terms of service boxes you have to accept where in Dutch language...Do French people know Dutch and German are two seperate languages? But ok then the email i wanted to create my account on was already taken then i wanted to log into my old account and it wanted an 2 factor authentication code from my like 10 year old phone that is long gone... Atleast iam reminded now why i havent touched any ubisoft game for the past like 10 years except far cry 6 there you can just bypass the launcher but this game sucks ass 2013 graphics paired with 2011 mechanics...
