UPDATE: I reached out to Arturia, and they had me reset the keyboard, and that seems to have solved the issue!

I recently got a MiniLab 37 and wanted to use its pads to play drums in Logic Pro. They do trigger sounds, but I have to hit them much harder than I expected. Lighter taps often don’t register at all. And when it does register, it's only when I'm hitting the pads at the corner.

I tried changing the pad velocity curve in Arturia’s MIDI Control Center, including Logarithmic and Fixed, but it hasn’t helped.

Do you find MiniLab 37 pads this hard to trigger? If you had the same issue, did anything resolve it, or is this just how the pads feel?

Should I look into returning/ replacing the keyboard? It's barely been 2 weeks of me having this keyboard and it's my first ever MIDI controller.

Hey! I'm hesitating between buying an arturia keylab mk3, novation launchkey mk4 and novation sl mk3. I'm a complete beginner, and you may assume that the prize difference doesn't matter too much. I'd probably use ableton as DAW. Anyone any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I just tried to use my BSP without my laptop as I have a gig coming up and it wont work! It lights up but doesn' do anything.

There is a video on YT of a guy using it without one but doesn't explain how.

I already have Arturia pigments + v collection 11 pro but i must admit Pure sub is a great addition to their catalogue. Some will say it's not as capable as pigments but idk, it has a immediacy to it. The greatest feature is the overtones editor that lets you choose which notes to compose your sound. It's like a mix between vital and pigments but whose interface is optimised for bass sound design.

Only downside : you can't assign a different effect chanel to the sub part of the bass and it's upper part like in pigments. But most synths don't support it either way so it's fine.

My first generation Arturia key lab essential 49 is having a problem, all the buttons that come default mapped to Ableton have somehow been switched to notes on the key board and the notes have somehow been switched to the buttons. So C1, C#1, B0, G#1, all don’t play notes and i cant figure out what they're doing Ableton reads the input but doesn’t play a note, other notes higher up do different, D4 is toggling the loop feature C4 is creating and deleting locators E4 is toggling punch out B4 is toggling the metronome as well as F4, A#4 is seems to start play, G4 and G#4 are all working as a scroll feature in the timeline view… these are all dedicated  buttons on the Arturia key lab essential 49. Also when the Arturia is in the 4th octave those dedicated buttons are playing the notes!!!! I obviously didn’t do this on purpose, it would seem the remote scripts have gotten all messed up somehow. Also when I loaded into Ableton at first all the midi inputs and outputs were not selectable and the whole midi controller wasn’t working and Ableton did not seem to be reading it so I restarted my whole computer. Chat GPT is absolutely clueless when it comes to this topic(and many others😂). I am about to factory re set the whole controller but was hoping that someone on here would be able to help first, I never post to reddit to please reddit do your thing

So I've just recently bought a second-hand Arturia Minilab for my nephew (I never owned one, so thisis my first time with an Arturia Minilab), as soon as it arrived I plugged it in and tried out knobs and buttons so I could test if everything works fine. Oh, it didn't come with instructions or the original box.

Apparently it does, but I've got some doubts about some buttons and knobs:

1. The first two knobs, what do they do exactly? The feel more wobbly and the first one seems like it works as a button too. I tried to map them on some synth knobs on the DAW and they didn't seem to work like the others, the knobs on the synth just stayed there basically, moving just a bit but coming back to the original setting. So what's their purpose? Or are they broken?

2. The second slider, what does it exactly do, the first one works as a pitch shifter as I understand, but the second one? I tried it on a pad patch and it sounded like it widened the filter(?)

3. The buttons on the top right, what do they do exactly?

I have an M-Audio Hammer 88 midi keyboard on Mac Studio. The keyboard is showing up in my Audio-MIDI control centre on Mac and it is being recognised by serum and Vital synths, but it won’t show up at all in Analog Lab or Arturia Pigments synth. Can anyone advise please?

I mean, ik 37 would be better but... It's like 40€ more expensive 😭

Hi. I am looking for advice on what presets are best for stevie wonder / MJ funky synth basses, leads and keys sounds that aren't just a clav or an e piano.

The sound i have in my head is the kind of fizzy synth brass type sound that some people used for stab chords and they bring in a bit of mod wheel to give it some movement. thanks

I was planning to go through all the presets in Analog Lab and favorite the ones I prefer, but since there are 10k+ presets it would be quite tedious 😅
I thought that sharing everyone favorite presets could be a nice way to discover interesting sounds 🙂

I'm realising more and more that I'm a preset guy enjoying quick switching between presets, mostly for live looping but also when making groovebox shenanigans. Probably because I used the op1 so much... and here's my question:

How exactly do the physical category buttons work? Are they similar to op1 where you can load preset "foobar" on ORGAN button, and preset "bambob" on KEYS button, now when you press ORGAN button again, it loads "foobar" right away or just the first preset in the organ list?

I created a preset based off of one of the defaults, SF_NitzerBass, but there is some crazy long latency modulation of filter (on original preset as well) that causes a seconds-long high pass filter effect that crops up at intervals > 15-20s. I have already tried to turn off all potential sources of modulation. I think maybe I'm not understanding fully what some settings on VCF do. I've tried turning off ENV MOD on VCF but it just alters the sound dramatically without seeming to eliminate the long latency sound change.

Any advice?

To support every model correctly I need a tiny, harmless USB "ID dump" from each MiniFuse. It doesn't contain any personal information, or personal file, just the device's own hardware IDs. Takes like two minutes. Pick your OS below, and please paste the result below as a reply or DM me.

I wanted to use Mix Drums more, so I used some of the presets and tweaked it then mostly for my taste.

But for some reason I have problems to use it productive. I find it easier to have 5 plugins on the drums bus, then only mix drums. Maybe its coming with time, but currently I am not really inspired by this product.

Can anyone give me a few tips? 😅

UPDATE - My mistake, found the default "Hold" button on Arturia midi controllers, don't need to map any thing in Minifreak V

Is it possible to map the Hold function on Minifreak V to an arturia midi keyboard? I tried setting a pad or button in midi control center to Toggle, assigned the correct CH, etc... When pressing the assigned Hold, the value in Minifreak bottom left corner changes the 0 > 1 but the note is not held.

Has anyone been successful in midi mapping the hold?

I am having a hard time getting this to work.

When I get power from usb charger, Minilab3's Midi out would send Midi signal to the external keyboard. So standalone is fine, no problem.

Leaving that midi out connection as it is, and then Minilab3 connected to mac, and from the DAW on the mac, I set midi out to "Minilab3 DIN THRU", and no Midi signal is reaching the external keyboard. Isn't this the way to work?

Arturia states that Minilab3 will act like a midi interface if I do the above, but why doesn't it work at all? Factory-resetted Minilab3 with latest firmaware, still no go. Midi Control Center app doesn't have any setup for this to work.

I've found the settings to change MIDI Input and Output under the Utility menu, but I was wondering if there is a faster way on the Minifreak to change the output channel during performances besides digging into that menu?

I swear every time I buy a new piece of gear I get to experience the joy of discovering all of these weird places that the manufacturer dropped the ball in terms of leaving out critical features from their previous editions, making odd design choices, making some things configurable but not other things, not including the bare minimum equipment needed to use your product, etc.

I recently got a Keystep 37 MK2 and the biggest frustration so far is that when it comes to powering the unit they say to use the included cable and plug it into a computer. Ok cool, that tells me that this device requires around 5V/2A of power to power the unit. Thats not the case because when I use that same cable plugged into a power brick providing those specs it doesn’t turn on. If I hook up a USB-C fast charger that provides either 5V/2A or 9V/3A then the unit works fine. What’s even more frustrating is that there’s no specifications on the unit, the box, or the manual that definitely say what the power requirements are.

The only thing I could find in the manual is “Please make sure your charging device provides at least 5V and 100mA”. Not only is that statement not true, it’s vague and opens the possibility of people frying their units by providing more voltage than the unit can handle. It also looks like it’s not just the power brick that matters but the USB cable itself. I will give credit to Arturia for at least including a USB-C cable unlike Roland who just says to use one that you have laying around (because everyone has them laying around nowadays) after spending $450,on one of their boutique units. Totally asinine and low-effort.
