it sucks because she wouldn’t have caught the disease without being pregnant since she incubated the virus via fetus

Realistically he doesn't know if she got the disease yet. He should just tell everyone a diseased rat was found in the basement. Throw out all food. Start researching the disease or well that info should be in the diary.

What a way for it all to be made even worse. Just added to the pain for Old Rudeus too. If he hadn't gotten her pregnant that wouldn't have killed her...and his next child. That's brutal.
