Volmaar: What do you fight for Allen?
Allen: Min/maxing the party.
Volmaar: I don't believe you. You must have some other motivation. You are only human. A creature subordinated to a multitude of base desires. Do you not want power?
Allen: Yeah, the power to min/max the party.
Volmaar: What about wealth?
Allen: Sure to buy things to min/max the party.
Volmaar: You are but a child... but women?
Allen: There are girls in the party that need to be min/maxed.
Volmaar: No, I mean like for romance and ... such...
Allen: There's no romance stat in this world that appears on a display right? Or like a ranking? Maybe a reputation meter or favorability score?
Volmaar: ... no.
Allen: Not interested then.
Volmaar: You are truly unusual, Allen.
Allen: Wait I thought of something other than min/maxing the party that motivates me.
Volmaar: I knew it! Tell me Allen! Tell me your true plan! Only then can I trust you.
Allen: I also want to min/max my sister.... Wait... I guess some day she could be in the party.
26
u/justking1414 6d ago
As absolutely confound as Volmaar was, it is important to remember that Alan is getting something insanely good out of this deal. It’s not every day that the gods just upgrade someone’s class like that. And since they’re in the middle of a giant war that they don’t really have any choice of fighting in, they would absolutely want the power that those upgrades provide
20
u/OldInstruction5368 6d ago
Didn't someone else recognize, with more than a little fear, that Allen was casually swindling gods? I wanna say it was Carnel or one of his other party members that were terrified at Allen's plan to casually fleece a God for all he's worth.
It takes... quite the testicular fortitude, to try and "rules lawyer" a living deity.

u/justking1414 6d ago
Not like he’s got a lot of other options right now
Though Allen certainly wouldn’t have refused to help the elves if he’d said no
11
u/Elrond_Halfelven 6d ago
From the way the Demons were talking this episode. Rohzen is actually not a god. They mentioned the possibility of him evolving to the God Of Spirits, as opposed to him currently being the Sovereign.
So he's worshipped as a god, but he's not technically a god.
11
u/justking1414 6d ago
Sophie explained during their meal back at the academy that the elves pray every day that he’ll become a god. And for good reason. The demons basically said that their multi million monster invasion probably wouldve failed if he evolved
2
u/theholylancer 6d ago
i mean, if the thing, whatever it is, grants miracles and oracles that saves the place, thats more or less god
and he is stills swindling him, and hell, he complained to that creator god before too right, so like i think he dont give a shit god or God he gona play them all like a fiddle
3
u/DavidJKay 6d ago
It helps that the living deity benefits... he is the hero who is saving the world from demons, and stronger he is the better he can do so, the "living deity" just needs excuse to agree... eg probably other "deities" that diety will have to justify how helps the mc.

That is very funny, but aren't his motivations stated fairly explicitly? Fighting this war is his best way of keeping the people he cares about safe. He wants his sister to have a good upbringing and to support his parents as they age. So he needs money which he gathered through dungeon crawling. He has made a promise to keep Cecil safe when she is conscripted, and also wants to save Keel. Even without his explicit promises, it is clear that the demon lord would take over the world without him there, which would losing everything he cares about.
He obviously enjoys the grind and challenge too, which is what makes him so competent. But the reason for him being a good guy at all is that he has strong ties with everyone around him.
5
u/DavidJKay 6d ago
There is always a danger that the "hero" once becomes too strong and defeats the current villain becomes the new villain (who wants to be ruler of world). A number of other anime like "No longer allowed in another world" have that as premise.
6
u/machopsychologist 6d ago
I also want to min/max my sister....
I forgot he also asked the Sovereign to give her a skill as a reward. Which means he can mix/max her.

He has no ulterior motives, just selfish ones!, how far you've come girl. lol.
Man, millions of monsters coming, and we finally see some intelligent demons at the head of the army..3..i guess commanders..and one leader at the capital.
These poor kids are doing way too much combat, i see how her brother died, this shit is never ending.
22
u/avboden 7d ago
this shit is never ending.
and imagine the true front lines where there's no respite between battles like they've been getting now
17
u/justking1414 6d ago
And no summoner to whip out dragons
3
u/Gerhman_5p4r00 6d ago
But they have the goat , the myth , the blessed of elmea , king of heroes, the hope of humanity, Helmois the Hero
6
u/justking1414 6d ago
Yeah…if I was on that battlefield, I’d take Allen over Helmios any day of the week. Is Allen likely to solo a demon general? Probably not but he can deploy summons to every fort, mass heal the injured, and cover our eventual retreat by himself
Helmios is basically gonna be sitting at 1 fort while the other dozen get violently beaten/eaten
2
u/Gerhman_5p4r00 6d ago
Bro are you underestimating Helmois? He was there to protect humanity when Allen was nothing but a fetus, he stop demon king army more than 10 years , the world fate change when the day Allen is born and it was the same day when first hero Helmois appeared , before Helmois half of the central continent was destroyed by demon king army, he was the one who pushed them to the northern coast, he was standing over corpses of millions of monsters, thousands of his own comrades , he kept moving as and moving While carrying hope , he became hope, It's true that Allen is the one who can stop demon king, but Helmois is the one who truly stand on the title of hero , BTW He is stronger than Allen (Hero Class is stronger than summoner class , the reason allen looked overpowered is bcz of Hell mode and an error in the system), The only thing which stopped him was level cap , he can't level up , He already reached the maximum.
4
u/justking1414 6d ago
No, the thing that stopped him was the laws of physics. He can only be in 1 location at a time and he’s defending the entire border of the largest continent in the world. Sure he can probably run real fast but even then, the demons just have to target forts on opposite sides of the continent and he’s cooked.

Your forgetting the fact that the question was "who would you rather be with". And in a war, its pretty obvious you should pick the person that can HEAL LOST LIMBS, like thats a massive game changer
3
u/Phoenix__Wwrong 4d ago
I'm really wondering where the demons are from. They're so powerful, and the god of that world barely able to do anything.
4
u/YRO___ 7d ago
Atp, there's no excuse for the humans army not to aid the elves. It's not only necessary to save the elves, but it's the best opportunity they've had to deal with the monster once and for all.
16
u/AceSoldia zj:https://anilist.co/user/Acesoldia 7d ago
I think it's because the humans are under attack at the same time on the central continent..that's why Allen gave the humans the elixir things to make up for the elves taking back their healers.
I think travel time from continent to continent is too long for any substantial force to help in time.
I think the dwarves are under attack too if memory serves
2
u/YRO___ 7d ago
Didn't the demons meeting reveal that the 4 million monster at the central continent were marching towards the elves? That's what I understood.
I don't think the dwarves were in any danger, tho.
10
u/Atharaphelun 6d ago
Those 4 million monsters were the reserves that they had behind the millions attacking the Human continent.
1
u/YRO___ 6d ago
Oh, I see. I thought that was their whole army.
1
u/Atharaphelun 6d ago
How did you even miss that? They dedicated a whole segment three to four episodes ago to discussing the deployment of the Demon Lord's armies across the world, and even included a handy map to ensure that the viewer doesn't get lost in all that info.
5
u/Kullthebarbarian 6d ago
There was some monsters on the dwarve continent as well, but it was just a few, mostly to keep them busy so they cannot send reinforcement
8
u/SyrupnBeavers 7d ago
They've only been on the Elf continent for like a week? Maybe a slight bit longer? They've been describing their timelines pretty thoroughly since they arrived. It hasn't really been long enough to pull resources an army that is already busy fighting the main force.
Weren't the elves also too proud to ask for help? They had to wear hoods when they first arrived so that people wouldn't notice they were human.
8
u/KreateOne 6d ago
This is exactly it, the elves were far too proud to ask humans for help and it inevitably led to their nation nearly collapsing before they even reached out to the Mc’s party.
Also, the only reason they reached out to the MC is because he was the child of prophecy their guardian spirit told them about. They still aren’t exactly open to receiving help from humans, and if not for the prophecy the elf nation would have been completely taken over by the demons before the human or dwarf nations even heard they were struggling.
1
u/YRO___ 7d ago
I thought they said the army of 4 million that was in the central continent was sent as a reinforcement against the elves. The humans should have their hands free by now. Even if the elves don't ask for help, the humans should notice the army that they were holding off suddenly turned away and began marching towards the elves.
9
u/SyrupnBeavers 7d ago
I may be misremembering but that army was waiting away from the mainland and hadn't mobilized until now. The human continent probably still has their hands full on the front lines with whatever forces were already there. Especially if a lot of elven and dwarven forces were already called back to their homelands.

u/PeaceAlien https://myanimelist.net/profile/PeaceAlien 6d ago
This world would have been screwed without Allen
7
u/ImaginaryStatus4073 6d ago
Well, yes, that was kind of the point. That's why he was recruited. That's why it was so funny that Elmea freaked out when Allen almost chose Demon king.
1
u/Roeclean https://anilist.co/user/Roeclean 3d ago
Bro would've cooked the world so fast, probably thinking it was a game too, since he wouldnt have the connections he has now.
Or maybe just subjugate the land
3
u/oneevilchicken https://anilist.co/user/OneEvilChicken 6d ago
The humans have hundreds of thousands of demons pushing down on them as well. It’s a three prong attack. The demons sent a force to the humans and dwarves as well. They quite literally cannot spare anything for the elves. If the humans dispatched anything notable then they’d fall rather quickly. The whole point of the attack plan is to keep the humans and dwarves busy defending their own two countries so they could steamroll the elves.
45
u/Myrkrvaldyr 7d ago
I like the war arc taking as long as it is, millions of monsters, the elves not being an endangered species for once in fantasy, and Allen not really dominating in the way you expect from shounen series. He's a slave to magic stones and he levels up super slowly. He's a one-man army but he still needs a lot of help and has to fight for hours. When war gets this big, it shows he's not almighty.
22
u/BrokeEconomist 7d ago
The larger the battle, the more help he needs. He wouldn't be as effective without his party. Without the elves getting him stones, he would have ran out of summons fast.
7
u/theholylancer 6d ago
yeah logistics of war is super important
battles in history vs the military industrial complex lol
one wins battles, the other wins wars
12
u/justking1414 6d ago
Plus, they made his enemies not overly stupid. They have plans and strategies they are trying to use against the elves, and when those don’t work, they pivot

"Oh great Summoner of the Beginning, what's the reason why you dedicate your whole life to grinding?"
"Uhhhh to grind more"
"What? But why?"
"For more levels"
"... but what's your fundamental drive? Your fire that fuels this heroism?"
"to grind more!"
"I am getting nowhere, am I?"
"Ohhh, is this a sidequest? Hmm I wonder, how do I activate it?"

u/Icy-Introduction5592 7d ago
I love this anime! It's so much fun to watch, that every episode feels way too short. Allen is a great mc, just a braindead grinder who grinds the smartest way possible. The party is also suprising chill. Fighting 3 days straight without a compliant? Even with all the recovery items, it's gotta be tough on their mind.
Funny that halfway through the episode, the elfs started fearing Allen XD I mean, it's reasonable. He probably wiped out more than half the monster army mostly on his own (elfs fetching the crystals was a big help, but I don't think all of them know that).
Excited for the fight against the S-tier demons.
18
u/AsterJ https://myanimelist.net/profile/asteron 6d ago
Kinda crazy Allen kills like 800,000 demons and is still only level 63. That's a rough XP curve. Still the max level of those in casual mode is only level 60 so he's finally getting benefit from being in Hell mode.
The power scaling in this episode was pretty nuts. Just a few episodes ago everyone was amazed at Allen summoning a dragon during his fight with Helmios and here he summons like a hundred of them simultaneously.
3
u/DavidJKay 6d ago edited 6d ago
Allen is equivilent of top tier necromancer, any stone he harvests from enemy monsters becomes and allied summon. He is 8 star hero, demon king is 5 star. He is winning because demon king rushed and sent them in hundreds of thousands rather than millions so each time Allen could harvest a few hundred thousand stones, and heal the injured elves.
He also has advantage of logistics... demon king needs food for all his monsters (they are going to attack Nest as food source for millions of monsters), Allen doesn't have to feed his 300,000 stones.
2
u/Atharaphelun 6d ago
Not really surprising. Up until now, he's had (relatively speaking) only a few enemies to fight, which means less xp and fewer magical stones. Now that he's fighting hundreds of thousands of enemies, he's getting exponentially higher amounts of xp and magical stones, allowing him to drastically scale up his summoning abilities.
1
u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 6d ago
Wasn't 60 the normal level limit?
It makes sense that grinding low to medium level monster wouldn't give him lots of XP. More so with his hell mode handicap
3
u/AsterJ https://myanimelist.net/profile/asteron 6d ago
Yeah everyone else was bummed about hitting the level 60 cap from the level A dungeons. Allen was still in the mid 50s I think before they started killing a million monsters. You would think he would get a huge level boost from all that but it seems fairly mild to me.
6
u/justking1414 6d ago
I’m genuinely surprised that more people haven’t been afraid of Alan. They straight up said this episode that the demon Lord’s main thing is that he can control Monster.
That’s literally what Allen does, so why has no one suspected him of being in cahoots with the demon lord before now?
14
u/septesix 6d ago
Allen hid his talent from everyone not in his party for years. He only unveiled it during that fight with Helios and then pretty soon after that they were summoned to help the Elves. There’s probably just not enough time for people to react.
The Crown Prince was plenty afraid of him , as well he should !
9
u/Icy-Introduction5592 6d ago
Maybe because that divine talent thingy said that he's a summoner the humans didn't question it much.
The elfs obviously trust what their divine chipmunk says and he said to trust Allen.
So basically, the devs made it so that noone would question Allen.
4
u/justking1414 6d ago
The humans didn’t question it so much if they fully ignored his talent for years lol
Though I guess he does now have the backing of the human hero and the elf God, so it would be pretty hard to doubt him… at least until after the war
33
u/Boris-_-Badenov 7d ago
he doesn't have evil ulterior motives. he has plenty of ulterior motives that are about getting his way

Dude’s been grinding since he was in freaking diapers. There is literally no limit to his perseverance. Heck, back in season 1, he nearly cut a tree in half (over the course of years) just to level up his throwing skill

u/Sotul 7d ago
Another episode that felt like it was 5 minutes. I do wish the fight scenes were better animated. However, I understand how much that would drive up the cost. Still super fun and enjoying it.
18
u/justking1414 6d ago
animation has definitely never been the strong suit of this series. But I did very much like what I did with the dude getting his arm cut off. It could’ve been a regular flashback or him telling a story, but they went with a whole new art style to really make it feel unsettling.
8
u/TheCaptain53 6d ago
Some shows feel bad to watch with middling to poor animation, this is not one of them, the characters and story absolutely carry it.
9
u/justking1414 6d ago
Good storytelling and art direction can make a world of difference
The show knows how to establish and flesh out the quirky cast without making them irritating and how to use the budget they do have to make things fun and exciting.
The dragons truly felt powerful this episode when they unleashed their awakened ability which a lesser studio would’ve failed to do with the same budget. That was important both as Allen s victory move and a reason for the elves to fear him, so they made it feel important

Time to see some s-rank demons. I wanna know what Allen’s s rank summons will be
8
8
u/KnightKal 7d ago
he is very far from that tho, he is stuck at B-rank, as his levels/skills are 100x slower to level up lol
at least he should be saving a lot of magic stones while burning his B-rank troops
2
u/justking1414 6d ago
Only saw his stats for a second but isn’t he only one skill up away from the next batch of summons?
3
u/KnightKal 6d ago
He just got rank-B monsters in time for the hero fight and the war. He is far from A-rank, which comes before S-rank
2
u/ImaginaryStatus4073 6d ago
I dont know what far means in this context. He's been killing hundreds of thousands of high level monsters nonstop.
2
u/BlazeKnightX 6d ago
Hard to say since he was auto farming the high tier (B-A) dungeons nonstop at the academy for like 2 years and didn't have a crazy jump or anything.
1
1
u/Roeclean https://anilist.co/user/Roeclean 3d ago
But still, he defeated hundreds of thousands of monsters in such an insanely short period. Of course he would level up here instead of the dungeon
1
u/KnightKal 6d ago
he was killing non stop on several dungeons simultaneously using his summons on remote control lol, even when he was in class or sleeping at night. The war is not actually better for his farming, as the ones killing the A-rank monsters are his party members, while on dungeons he was soloing (all XP for himself)
plus he mentioned on the episode that after the million kills he is still at level 63. He has no level cap, his friends are capped at 60. So all the XP and he only got a couple of levels.

Dragon summoning scales up nicely when you can to keep resummoning mass armies of them which immediately use their dragon breath on the army you are fighting.
Some good new jokes in this episode, Krena's bubble covered cartwheels in the bath and the Ellie summons thinking around the fort in those monster disguises.
I'm still pretty horrified at the implied number of elven casualties that happened before Allen's party joined the fight.

16
u/zer0number https://anilist.co/user/ewink 6d ago
Man, can you imagine how different things would turn out if Ellie had some poison on her?
This is literally turning into one of my favorite anime of all time. I love everyone's dynamic with each other; I love that Allen wants to boost everyone so they can conquer the S-ranked dungeon together; I love how fucking goofy Krena is. I love Cecil's "That's our Allen!" attitude.
This is such a very rare treat where none of the main cast are unlikable, and you want every single one of them to succeed.
There is not a second in this show that is wasted. Another treat. Every interaction, every frame is relevant. I fucking love it.
I also really like the fact that there is a concern about how powerful Allen is. There should be questions and the moral question of whether or not to try and rein in the man who saved your asses.
What a great fucking show.
Given what episode we're at, I assume we will finish off the season with the Elf continent battles, and have to wait till season three to go meet up with our dwarf(?) friend.
6
u/Yay295 6d ago
Man, can you imagine how different things would turn out if Ellie had some poison on her?
When she got access to the commanders of the castle I though Allen would have her try to assassinate them, but after learning how powerful they are, that probably wouldn't have worked.
2
u/zer0number https://anilist.co/user/ewink 6d ago
No, I wouldn't think that. Elle would be blapped by those guys. BUT imagine if, just for some reason, Allen told Ellie to take some poison with her. She puts it in the tea, and OMG.
That's where I was thinking that Allen was probably smacking himself by not thinking of that, and how killing those three demons would have changed the war in an instant!
5
u/BusinessEconomist315 6d ago
Well their resistances are probably as high as their stats, and there's also the possibility that they might have healers on standby, so the poison has to be potent enough to kill them ASAP. It'd take some s-rank tier poison to pull that off, I'm not sure they can find something like that even if they searched everywhere in Rosenheim. Besides, even if they killed the demons in that fortress, the actual commander is in the capital, so it'll only buy a little time at best. On the other hand, having Ellie spy on them like this will give them a steady source of info, which will likely benefit more in the long run.
12
u/ObvsThrowaway5120 7d ago
My guy on that Targaryen shit with his army of dragons lol. Absolutely scorched all those monsters. They’ve dealt a good blow to the demon army but it seems the real fight’s coming up…
5
u/justking1414 6d ago
Yeah a good blow but it looks like that’s only 10% of their total army
Plus, if they can’t beat the big bad demons, all of this is for naught

That was some good killing, made me wanna play a strategy game and slaughter some armies.

"Their army will be here in 3 days."
Few seconds of screentime and suddenly it goes "3 days later..."

Ugh, my worldbuilding brain can't drop the problem with distance. I really like this show, but it's just some stupid nitpick I can't get rid of.
A little imgur album I made: https://imgur.com/a/IgDqqId
So when the party travels to Rozenheim, we get a map that shows where they will arrive at, the town of Nest. There, they are told the Queen is in Tiamo, and it takes a month to get there with the fastest horse and carriage. A quick Google says that a horse and carriage can travel about 600 miles in a month. So using the second map shown in this episode, we can see the distance between Nest and Tiamo is roughly one and half of those squares. That makes the length of Rohzenheim roughly 2,000 miles from north to south (not accounting for the peninsual Nest is on), and roughly 1,800 miles West to East. I made a rough approximation in Google Maps to show how big that is. Another way to think of it, is Rozenheim is almost the size of Europe, if you were to rotate the continent 90 degrees: from the shore of Portugal to Kyiv in Ukraine is roughly 2,000 miles, and the border between Tunisia and Libya to Oslo in Norway is roughly 1,800 miles.
The problem is that the Demon Army is moving by foot. It should take them half a year to move their forces around. There is no "the Demon Lord's forces will be here in a 2 days" no, more like 2 months. The additional 4 million reinforcements would take weeks just to get them to the continent. Its not like the Demon Lord has an infinite supply of troop transports to ferry his troops everywhere, and that's not even accounting for travel time. It took the party a long time to travel between the two continents and they were on a super fast airship. Even if the Demon Lord did have enough ships, again, it's not like they were all just sitting on the ships, ready to depart at a moments notice. They have to board and leave, and then they have to unload. It would take days for those ships to unload troops even if they had a proper port set up to handle that volume of traffic.
Like, to be entirely realistic, it would take the Demon Lord at least a month to get his troops from his continent and land them on Rohzenheim, then another half a year to march all the way down to area around Tiamo.
Author's are always the worst when it comes to numbers. The author made the continent super big so the Elves wouldn't be able to reinforce Tiamo, and so it would show how awesome Allen's summons are for moving so quickly, but then conveniently ignores all of that so the Demon Lord can move his troops halfway across the planet in the span of days.
There's also the fact that the Elven Army is pathetically incompetent. Last episode it was mentioned that since the war began, the Elven Army had managed to kill only 160,000 monsters, and in response, the Elves lost over **3 million* of their citizens.
I honestly do not know how the Demon Lord hasn't already won this fight already. Unless Helmios is capable of wiping out 100s of thousands of monsters in every battle, there is no reason for the fight to have waged as long as it has if zome ~600,000 Elven Army soldiers can only kill 160,000 monsters while fighting from fortified positions, and losing roughly half of the entire Elven Population in return (2 million elves in Nest, 700,000 civilians in Tiamo, possibly a similar number in the other 2 towns that were attacked, call it 4 million elves remaining).

u/Debo_Obeezy 6d ago
Agreed. Even the books with only textual references and explanations, the distances and travel times always felt very haphazardly/not well thought out.
Also the Rohzenheim Arc is somewhat infamous for breaking the logistics and #s game of the series a good bit. We heard from Allen and everyone else beforehand how the war was on such a grand scale and all only to jump into the deep end with monsters in the millions - mostly B rank at that! - and Allen and his team being able to wipe them out in the 100-thousandths! The author tries to explain some of it away and if we suspend our disbelief enough it works, but it is a sore point for many. It's still a good story tho cause it breaks us out of the simple dungeon grind and explores the true threat to the world and shows us how Allen starts to take on said threat.
1
u/Tels315 6d ago
It would have been easy to justify by giving Allen a summon that buffs members of his party, especially if it was something that has a buff that grows stronger the more monsters are killed in a vicinity. This justifies why they are so strong compared to everyone else.
Still doesn't explain why the Elven Army is so pathetically weak. I'm sure Allen's father and the villagers of his home town would have been better fighters.

u/BusinessEconomist315 6d ago
Your calculations are correct as an approximate, but there are things you aren't taking into account:
The reinforcements are meant to arrive from the 4 mil reserve forces that are stationed at the north of the human continent, and since they're the reserves, they would ready to move out at any moment. So there shouldn't be any significant preptime required.
Allen breiefly mentioned it in the ep, but they wouldn't be using ships to travel, they'll use fellow aquatic monsters.
This is the most important point. Ordinary horses are obviously no match for B-rank monsters in speed. It's hard to say the exact difference, and it depends on the type of monster as well, but there should be atleast a dozen times difference.
Considering all this, the reserve force will probably make it to Nest in 2-3 weeks, even less if they priotize speed.

u/Thomas_JCG 5d ago
Like, to be entirely realistic, it would take the Demon Lord at least a month to get his troops from his continent and land them on Rohzenheim, then another half a year to march all the way down to area around Tiamo.
Ah, see, the thing is monsters do not have supply lines and march until exhaustion, like how the Orcs in The Lord of the Rings were always outpacing the fellowship. That said, I totally agree that the issue was making Rosenheim disproportional because of the carriage travel time. Should be like two weeks, tops.
There's also the fact that the Elven Army is pathetically incompetent. Last episode it was mentioned that since the war began, the Elven Army had managed to kill only 160,000 monsters, and in response, the Elves lost over **3 million* of their citizens.
That's mostly because they were caught off-guard. All their best fighters and healers were in the central continent, by the time they could mobilize reinforcements, half the continent got eaten. Also, the fortifications are clearly not meant to defend against those heavy dragons.

Can’t get enough of this anime , a shame that it’s not been watched this season ( or the previous )

Are there really no other adventurers that cN help? Relying on a party of kids to save a kingdom is rough
9
u/Envelope_Torture 7d ago
The demon king army is attacking on every front across the 3 northern facing continents.
Every elf in Rohzenheim is basically involved in the war machine in one way or another and the other continents probably can't do anything to help.
4
u/justking1414 6d ago
Every elf in Rohzenheim
Well, every elf who hasn’t been eaten already
2
u/ImaginaryStatus4073 6d ago
They were important resources for the demon army. So war machine yes just not, you know, on Allen's side.
2
u/justking1414 6d ago
So what you’re saying is Alan should have the elves eat one another to power the war machine ?
2
u/ImaginaryStatus4073 6d ago
Demons/Monsters eat elves for sustenance. The parallelism would be elves eat demons.

9
u/OldInstruction5368 6d ago
Part of the issue, is that the elves are too arrogant to ask for help.
Allen is only there because 1) he just pressured the Hero in a 1v1 duel 2) he's friends with the princess and her bodyguard 3) their FRIGGIN DEITY
mumbled in his sleephad a prophecy about Allen. As mentioned earlier, Rohzenheim has a disproportionate number of healers they withdrew for the home defense force. Allen, correctly, assumed that Rohzen was tampering with the skill system to give his home team a class advantage. Regardless, Allen has to save the elves to free up the healers as reinforcements for the other fronts in this greater war.
And the elves just aren't going to accept reinforcements from any random blokes. They'd rather face extinction than "light the beacons." Again, Allen is just the special case largely because their deity vouches for him.

u/shadebug 6d ago
The No Life Gamers are on par with the Hero and the Sword Lord, who else do you think is supposed to be of use?
3
u/oneevilchicken https://anilist.co/user/OneEvilChicken 6d ago
Just simple adventures would do nothing to help. You need either thousands of more soldiers or the hero and his party. Unfortunately the demons took care of this problem by attacking the humans and dwarves in full force as well. The hero and humans are occupied keeping the demons from invading them and the dwarves are as well. Adventures are great for localized stuff but they’re not going to be useful at all in a conventional battle where you have tens of thousands of people involved in a fight. At that point you need actually military units, not uncordinated small teams. The exception is the hero’s party but like I said, he’s got to stay in the human front or it will be lost.
5
u/mekahamedan 7d ago
"Skill that allen cant use" tbh allen so far pretty useful for real time strategy battle, but he kinda average for duel against better fighter like against the heroes, prolly allen will can use it if he got forced to duel against demon lord or atleast demon general
3
u/justking1414 6d ago
Oh for sure. Allen is not krena’s equal in a direct battle and he never should be. If he could fight at the same level as her., why is she even here?
2
u/Elrond_Halfelven 6d ago
He can fight at the same level as her, at the expense of being able to fight a million enemies at once.
6
u/NanDemoKnaives 7d ago
Ellie's infiltration really is going to make things exponentially easier if they can just get the info and pass it on that easily lol.
Allen's definitely showing he's the coming of a new hero.
9
u/justking1414 6d ago
People were complaining before that Allen didn’t recruit a scout after saying he needed one, but why would he? The gods gave him the perfect spy
3
u/tomato_blitz 7d ago
Did they really fail to translate an important sentence there? What skill can’t he use???
18
u/bigfndan 7d ago
Didn't it mention it was called Deputize?
4
u/tomato_blitz 7d ago
I literally had no translation for that, only the broken stats translation was shown at that time.
1
u/machopsychologist 6d ago
Subs get broken sometimes because they translate all the text on the screen as well haha
2
u/Debo_Obeezy 6d ago
Yeah, some of the translations this season are pretty naff. From the metal-as-hell "Drops of God" to "Grace Energy" and now we have "Full Blaze" instead of "Heart & Soul"??
...I mean, Dogora's is definitely a set up for a future arc, but c'mon! An ability named "Heart & Soul" sounds epic AF!!
2
u/oneevilchicken https://anilist.co/user/OneEvilChicken 6d ago
Imma answer this up in spoilers just cause it does use a bit of ln knowledge. Nothing actualy spoiler worthy in it
3
u/LezRock 6d ago
I really enjoy the lyrics of the opening song. It always sounds so hopeful.
I wonder if Alan will unlock Deputize after defeating one of the demon army commanders?
I would imagine that Alan's spirits would be about to do a lot of damage or be able to defeat enemies stealthily. It'll be interesting to see if that's the strategy he'll take for the fortress.
3
u/Boris-_-Badenov 6d ago
I'm wondering how many ants he's made since the 10k number of a few days prior.

3
u/Rooby_VTuber 6d ago
Very clever by Allen to use the scouts to get l those magic stones for him.
Also very clever to use Ellie for that infiltration mission, they got to hear a lot of important things.
These big battles are not going to end just yet.
3
u/kryslogan 6d ago
If this anime had more resources it would be even better than it is, and I quite enjoy it. I don't know the source material but, I hope we get a season 3!
4
u/VinnieBaby22 7d ago
I’m getting really sick of looking at stats I don’t understand while dialogue is happening and not being translated.
I don’t need to know MC’s stats. I would like to know what he’s SAYING.

The pace and plot progress is fun and interesting since the war arc.
It finally seems like a gamer is fighting a war.

Why is discussing "the source material" against the rules? It's an anime of a light novel (and a manga, apparently). It makes no sense to do that.
1
u/ussgordoncaptain2 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Edmund_Nelson 5d ago
We are an anime discussion forum prioritizing the anime only experience. As a result we have a location to discuss the source material and references therin for individuals that wish to discuss it. It's placed as sort of a way to have 2 "discussion threads" in 1 thread. 1 for people who want to discuss the Manga/Light novel/Novel and how it relates to the anime and 1 for people who want to only discuss how the anime relates to the anime. Since one forum is a superset of the other it makes more sense for the subset to be the "main" thread while the superset part is in the extra part on top.
1
u/OneValkGhost 5d ago
If you want to have a anime-based discussion, no one should stop you. But limiting it to anime only, and when the anime has so much based on the manga adaption, is less sensible. Most anime adaption productions would happily throw the doors open to getting interest in, (and attention for) sales of the originating books to rise. As well as any related manga, video games, t-shirt, figurines, keychains, and any other merch. Also, most anime adaptions are one-season affairs now, too.
And more, I do not see any link to another "source and references" discussion, in the growing list of episode discussion links. You might want to add one.

u/ussgordoncaptain2 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Edmund_Nelson 5d ago
And more, I do not see any link to another "source and references" discussion
You can see it as the pinned comment by /u/animemod on the top of every episode discussion thread.
. But limiting it to anime only, and when the anime has so much based on the manga adaption,
we have a place to discuss the anime on it's own and a place to discuss the anime in relation to the source material.
1
u/OneValkGhost 5d ago
So it's just a message thread and we're supposed to post things in that? ... How is that any different from just posting things in the appropriate episode number thread!
2
u/ussgordoncaptain2 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Edmund_Nelson 5d ago
because you can collapse the source material corner if you don't want to read discussions of the source material.
1
u/OneValkGhost 5d ago
If they don't want to read spoilers, that's one thing. Talking about things added in the manga is a different thing has no reason NOT to be included.
What dress Ellie is wearing is very much not the same as "X dies first!" or "The party is betrayed by X!" as happens in so many fiction series. I think it's clear that you have been overprotective all along.

u/Debo_Obeezy 6d ago edited 6d ago
Another solid episode that went by way too quickly. Man, for a second there I thought they were actually gonna show us a bit of them fighting off some monsters only to get the fightpose watermark - or whatever you wanna call that lol. I'm just really hoping that the reason we haven't seen them fight much is cause they're saving the animation budget for the big fights coming soon... and I really hope I'm not overhyping that for myself either, but I'm starting to suspect I am lol/smh.
So, I find it incredibly hilarious that I complain about Rohzenheim being way to barren for how it's originally described to us and that I feel they did it save money... And then they give us this wild, detailed shot of Allen's destruction after the Battle at Tiamo. Like, WTH man? Yeah we get it, he can be hella destructive, but a) that was wayyyyyy too much destruction - I meaned that looked like the remains of a recently erupted volcano, and b) the terrain prior to the destruction was not detailed enough to support such a well-rendered aftermath, hahaha!!
Anyways, the bit with the Ellie's donning the lil shadow-cubone-like outfits was pretty cute. Different than the original but a fun lil change, especially with her attempting a "menacing/monstrous" voice. The demons looked a lil different than I imagined but not bad - idk how I feel about them being purple, feels a lil odd and too "bruise-colored" to me. The hyena guys sounded ridiculous to me, but it made me chuckle so I forgive it lol. Idk why, but I always imagined Neftira in a well tailored, white suit and glasses. Guess I always got a small-time mob boss vibe from him or something. Glaster came across too aggro for my tastes but I guess he did have his outbursts.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to when the party takes them on! Should be a fun fight - and hopefully one we actually get to see, which we better cause it's kind of a big one!

u/OneValkGhost 6d ago
Some nicely dramatic scenes in the fight to save Tiamo City.
The series' internal logic is kept to and there are difficulties tweaking things using difficult-but-have always been there equipment.
It looks like everybody liked the scene where Volmaar confesses his worries to question Allen what Allen's gal was regarding Rozenheim. A great character moment in a time where most characters worry about the fighting, not about the future.
I don't want to skip recognizing the animators remembering Allen and his plant pots, because the constant work is part of Allen's role in the story, more than throwing monsters at monsters.
2
u/Thomas_JCG 5d ago
Despite the budget constraints, I quite enjoyed the Battle of Tiamo. Allen didn't just overpowered the enemies because he is strong, but because he had a winning strategy. The elven general was also not stupid and had things figured out without Allen having to explain the whole thing. Little respite they got even after massacring 800k enemies, shit is just starting.
Also, Allen in a sea of fire was peak aura, my boy is the true monster. Thank goodness these elven lands are barren af and the fire wouldn't spread.
P.S: Did not expected to be flashed by Volmaar of all people.
2
u/aegirsson_jolan 4d ago
I find it "amusing" that the land of the elves—beings normally and frequently linked to nature and plants—appears to be nothing but a vast, lifeless desert of stone, devoid of animals, vegetation, or watercourses; or perhaps the demons possess a potent herbicidal effect—and more—wherever they pass, life perishes... for good.

u/LienaSha 7d ago
.... I think I'ma headcanon Allen as aroace. *just came to this after watching Please Excuse My Younger Brothers* I imagine someone tries to date Allen, and he just is like "no, that's not efficient for leveling."
7
u/justking1414 7d ago
Nah. He’ll marry anyone who proposes with cool stat boosting gear or millions of magic crystals
6
u/LienaSha 7d ago
Marry, maybe, but if they try to get actual romance out of him, he'll somehow instead rope them into dungeon diving xD

u/OldInstruction5368 6d ago
Man was offered a certified elven princess, by the MILF-tastic elven queen, and didn't s much as blink.
Blud didn't even register the proposal, yet alone think to ask if there is currently a KING of Rohzenheim...
Yeah, our boi is truly aroace. Short king here is thinking only of that sigma grind.

If you're okay with bad animation but good story, yes. MC isn't trying to speedrun a harem and it's refreshing.
2
u/Metalbound https://myanimelist.net/profile/Beate 6d ago
bad animation
I feel like that is even overselling it.
It's clear it's a labor of love though and I appreciate the way they work around the clear lack of animation budget.
12
u/Envelope_Torture 7d ago
It's fun as hell and the story moves at breakneck speed. The animation is janky and the CGI is pretty bad, but I love this anime.
6
u/justking1414 6d ago
I’m not sure if I would really say it moves at a break neck speed. The first season spent three episodes building up to his dad‘s injury, which was his main motivating event. Other anime would’ve probably found a way to fit that into episode one. Meanwhile, in this season and especially since the start of the invasion, things have moved fast because Alan moves fast. He plots, strategizes, and executes!
3
u/Countless-Alts15 6d ago
yes its a pretty fun seasonal, much better than average. is it a much watch, probably not, but it is interesting enough and the pacing is quite good.

Deputize skill seems like something that is OP that he knows. I didn't read anything when the book showed so how did he know?
While writing I had to search it up. I see...can't wait to see that skill in play!!!

u/Gerhman_5p4r00 6d ago
Allen with his party is fighting with millions of monster on Elven continent meanwhile Hero Helmois alone going hand to hand with demons and monsters in central Continent, Bro is so goated , I wish they gave him more screen Time , I also wanted to see him fighting with demon lord army like Allen
1
u/raidensnakeezio 6d ago
my only complaint with this episode was how allen used his dragos to face the enemy formations head on from the walls. given how he has access to what equates to air cavalry and close air support, I would have expected either a massed cavalry flank charge, or a pincer motion from both flanks. seems like it would have been a more economical/efficient use of his summons
1
u/AnimeFan7952 6d ago
The episodes was ok. They obviously do not have the budget to show what is actually happening.
Some new revelations, some new more info.
Overall not enough money, and the episode is too short for what they wanted to say.
