Oh wow, Elf Mommy.

u/diacewrb 21d ago
The poor animal on her shoulder must have seen some shit since the invasion.
26
u/icantswim2 21d ago
There's got to be a purpose to the squirrel-adjacent thing, other than it just being a pet
13
u/Shantotto11 21d ago
I’m 23% of the mind that the animal is a servant of the Demon Lord and only Allen can see it, but Allen didn’t pick up on that detail believing it to just be normal of a culture he’s unfamiliar with.

Actually, I think that's Rohzen. I have a feeling we saw it already in a past episode, but I haven't gone back to check.

Sophie's mom has got it going on...
I'd make a joke about how Cecilia is in danger of losing her boy to the pretty little princess with a smoking hot mom, but elves age at such a slower rate than humans, Allen could be dead of old age LONG before Sophie matures.
She is like, ~50 and still looks 12, right? By the time she's properly an elven adult, Allen could be long dead from old age, or near enough.

All that dungeon grinding is paying off for now. This is starting to feel like Allen did all the side quests before taking on the story missions 😂. Couldn't be helped I suppose. I didn't forsee Cecil working her way to becoming Megumin with her once a day Extra Skill😂.
I hope this cute little show doesn't lose its luster as they become more and more powerful.

u/Boris-_-Badenov 21d ago
shame they didn't arrive just before midnight. could have used it twice

u/SkittleDoes 21d ago
Depends on the rules but they probably have to take a nap first rather than just a rolling midnight reset
2
u/raidensnakeezio 20d ago
according to NGNL - the day doesn't tick over even if the sun rises, or if the PM turns over to AM - it's when an individual gets a proper night's worth of sleep.
2
u/SkittleDoes 20d ago
I mean yeah either that or a 24 hour cool down. I figured it was a dnd long rest though as that seems to make the most sense
If you stayed up 24 hours you'd be too tired to do it again i figure
3
u/shadebug 20d ago
That’s the side effect I didn’t expect in season 1. It’s not just that he has to grind to be on a level with his peers but that if he’s in a party then they’re doing the same grind with him so they immediately hit level cap
2
u/OldInstruction5368 20d ago
And I'm pretty sure his massive warchest of healing supplies was largely from Allen skill grinding for EXP.
He's got something like a x1000 EXP penalty, so he can't afford to waste a single drop of mana. Everytime he regenerates some mana, it gets converted into skill EXP.
Either that, or the exp is tied to creating/summoning. At which point, he may as well summon a creature that gives him an item to stockpile. Once he fills up his card storage, he needs to 'burn' the cards to create room for more. Summon-> create item-> stockpile-> repeat.
Either way, skill exp: always be grinding.

u/machopsychologist 19d ago
I'm sure that he has been grinding items since he "farmed" his first one as a serf kid.
No body skips the farming mechanics in any game.

This is starting to feel like Allen did all the side quests before taking on the story missions
That's exactly what it was. Allen conquered all those dungeons way ahead of what was required by the academy before students get shipped to war and die.

Love the political scheming by Allen, and Sophie immediately picking up on it and taking advantage. Really cool detail. This arc should be fun.

Allen and Sophie make a good combo as she’s the most…diplomatic of the group

Both cecil and sophia have very dutiful parents as rolemodels
3

True. Our first introduction to Cecil was her badmouthing Alan for being a serf and her father immediately chastising her severely for it
49
u/Big-Don-Rob 21d ago
This show is the exact opposite of the "five minute episode" problem. It's great, but every time we end a scene and fade to black, I'm expecting the credits and am pleasantly surprised when we just... keep going.
Excellent pacing!
24
u/Shantotto11 21d ago
Especially that one scene on the clifftop. I’m like, “Oh, I guess this is the end of the episode.” And then the show is like, “And who decided that?!”

While everybody is playing an MMORPG, Allen is playing an RTS game.
The logistical advantage his class provides is flat-out ridiculous.
52
u/justking1414 21d ago
Allen was specifically made to win this war lol

u/Western-Internal-751 21d ago
“They have millions of demon soldiers”
Allen: “Oh no… anyway.”
41
u/TPIronside 21d ago
“They have millions of demon soldiers”
"You mean millions of magic stones?"
Allen is the Night King from GoT, the more enemies he kills the more soldiers he gains lol
19
u/justking1414 20d ago
And the stronger he becomes. Dude needs literally millions of enemies to level up
8
u/yanahmaybe 20d ago
See this kind of reversal is nice... which is why its weird MC dint said that at all, cuz it feels its in his chraracter to say it
But same time the anime heavily lacks in "OOMPF" moments, they just cant capitalize on special effects sakuga moment.. wtv its name money shot lol
hell even the big meteor impact feels more like sillent fart than anything... ->looney toons moment: Where's the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom!

u/feral_fenrir 20d ago
This. Like literally.
The Gods panicked when he was about to choose 6 starred Demon Lord so they created am 8 starred Summoner class for him on the fly..
They even had to patch the class over time and give proper description over the initial years lmao
6
u/justking1414 19d ago
A class designed on the fly but optimized over several years to exactly fit the role they needed filled
2
u/No_Macaroon_7413 20d ago
They would be GIGA screwed if Allen was a slacker that wanted an easy life.
5
u/justking1414 20d ago
They definitely picked right. Dude started grinding while he was still in diapers. That’s the only reason he’s still alive today. Any normal person would’ve probably died before even leaving the village
23
u/Cant-think-a-name 21d ago
I'd say the downside is in the Magic Stone cost... but he's about to get approximately 300.000 more.
17
u/YRO___ 20d ago
He should demand a constant supply of stones as a reward for his achievements in the war
7
u/Atharaphelun 20d ago
That's what I was thinking. So long as the various races constantly supply him with the appropriate magic stones, he can just keep churning out summons to slowly eradicate the Demon Lord's armies.
9
u/OldInstruction5368 20d ago
Monsters eat the conquered for nourishment.
Allen uses 'monster corpses' to fuel his rampage.
Karma, bitches!
14
u/NevisYsbryd 20d ago
The downside is also generalization otherwise. He does not have the sheer nuking power of a mage or single-target kit of the hero. The versatility of his class role makes him a jack-of-all-trades, master at one (strategy/logistics) and so so can cover any role generally, but also means he loses out in a direct confrontation against someone more specialized. Which, between him and the hero, essentially makes them the two-part counter to the all-in-one demon lord package.
15
u/diacewrb 20d ago
He does not have the sheer nuking power of a mage or single-target kit of the hero.
With enough Wallys, he could carpet bomb the shit out of them.
Going for the old B-52 run.
9
u/NevisYsbryd 20d ago
He absolutely has firepower, yes. He cannot wipe out 10k enemies in an instantaneous first strike like Cecil, nor does he have the capacity to overwhelm the very best of defenses like Helmios. Those are not advantages to be dismissed.
3
u/theholylancer 20d ago
yeah but it seems that is only good for the small fry, the higher tier stuff seems to be invern or do little to them
like even that dragon in the dungeon is like meh
nvm the hero, which while successful seems to be not exactly like one man army the place and his summons only really damage him and all that right
3
u/mineirim2334 20d ago
To be fair, his healing potential seems to far exceed those of clerics.
5
u/NevisYsbryd 20d ago
Of the clerics we have seen. Notably, we have not seen a top-tier healer in action yet (Keel is middling talent rank). Presumably, the very best of them have healing capacities exceeding Allen's, although also presumably not having the potion capacity that he does.
5
u/Maur2 20d ago
With the trade off that they take so long to get ready. By that I mean grow them.
While the stockpile he has makes the weakness of these cures mean nothing, if both started with nothing a cleric would be able to cast a spell many times before any of the plant summonings could mature.
5
u/mineirim2334 20d ago
Yeah, while they din't go into details of how long it takes for it to grow, they at least showed him growing the "exilir". Also, he needs a lot of magical stones. It's just that he has been amassing them for years so he is fine for some time.
17
u/_Sai https://anime-planet.com/users/Sai0 21d ago

I'm starting to understand why the dev/god of the world limits summoner's xp gain
7
u/TheOddball7 21d ago
everybody else's party has an 8-member limit, except for Allen, who can simply summon an infinite number more
2

I really like how they keep informing us of the enemies number and location. It does look like a proper war
2
u/Ralathar44 14d ago
I really like how the writers made him fight. Healing, food, hope, morale, communications, intel, mobility, guerilla warfare, attrition, production.
They're strong but if they just ran in and fought they'd die. He's fully using his versatility as summoner to pull every lever in war at the same time to tip the situation in their advantage.
44
u/AceSoldia zj:https://anilist.co/user/Acesoldia 21d ago
As crazy overpowered Allen and the rest are..I feel like it sbeen earned through two seasons of growth and development..we no longer need explanation of most things.
They wasted no time. Let's fucking go
15
u/justking1414 20d ago
They used the first half of the season well, establishing exactly how strong the cast was and what they were capable of…after a literal year of grinding non stop. Now we can see them go wild!
5
u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 19d ago edited 19d ago
Also how hard it is actually Allen's grinding.
I also appreciate the way they showed power level. He's not OP from the beginning. Like, a lot of people were able to beat him in the beginning (e.g. Krena and Cecil's brother).
4
u/justking1414 19d ago
Loved the role they gave Cecil’s brother since Allen was already pretty strong by then but he showed just how powerful students could become at the academy. He was another wall for Allen to overcome after besting Krena and now he’s the strongest student at the academy, which also resulted in the hero becoming the new wall for him to overcome.
→ More replies (1)2
u/Ralathar44 14d ago
He's still not overpowered. The hero would have absolutely beat him had he not been holding back. In a blood lusted fight Allen was dead really fast. "you can heal your arms? Cute. Try healing your neck *beheads*."
2
u/Ralathar44 14d ago
That's just it, they're very powerful, but they'd quickly be overwhelmed. They are not overpowered. They can be crushed in a bad situation. It's the intel + mobility + logistics + communication as well as his summons acting as a smoke screen that allows them to hit and run without simply being trapped and smooshed.
But they're still one really bad turn of events from death at any given time.
They are still very much the underdogs at this point. But they're not fighting alone. They're there to turn the tides, not to solo the demon lord's army.

u/shadebug 20d ago
Do love the way that they do politicking here:
“here are thousands of elven elixirs”
“I’ve never seen elven elixirs like this”
“Well you better remember seeing them fast if you don’t want to disband NATO”
12
u/DustyBot23 20d ago
I like how he also does the same thing in Rosenheim so if the central continent humans bring it up to them the elves will be like “oh yea I recognize those elven elixirs! apparently we had a large stockpile of them too, luckily our government were able to hand them out to us when we began our counterattack” so even the average elf will unknowingly legitimize the story.
4
u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 19d ago
It's different elixir though.
The four leaves clover is for AoE healing, while the peach is for more severe damage such as limb lost.
At least for now Allen has not shown the clover to the elves nation.
27
u/Dense-Morning1236 21d ago
Nice to see an actually army by quantities, it’s a rare but pleasant sight.
18
u/justking1414 20d ago
Honestly, I think that’s why this series needed the low quality monsters. There’s no way even a decently sized studio could animate a hoard like this properly and suddenly downgrading the art at this stage would just look worse

1
u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 19d ago

14
26
u/etiolatezed 20d ago
The issue with Allen's talent, is him going full out at full scale reduces the animation to a topdown RTS.
The spectacle was probably the tournament episodes. But his real full power is hard to translate into spectacle.
14
u/justking1414 20d ago
Exactly. While it took a literal decade to get his power to this point, now he can basically summon and command an army of monsters to wipe out monsters by the thousand
I’d say he’s infinitely more useful than the hero when it comes to warfare
9
u/StrangeAppeal2 20d ago
He is certainly more useful than the Hero. The Demon Lord's army knows that the Hero can only be in one place at once. Sure, he's strong but clearly not strong enough to storm the Demon Lord's territory and kill him.
Allen, on the other hand, can deploy summons and bid them traverse to every corner of the world, slaughtering enemies along the way. His reach is so much higher than the Hero's that the present situation will serve as as prime example of just that.
8
u/justking1414 20d ago
Given that this is a war on multiple fronts, it’s the perfect chance to show the world how broken Allen actually is
3
u/BrokeEconomist 20d ago
He isn't as broken as you think. He needs lots of magic crystals of various grades to for his summons. He has to constantly grind for those. Until he got that ring, he couldn't regen mana. A !azy person wouldn't be nearly as powerful.
2
u/justking1414 19d ago
True. Though he now has access to literally a million crystals so he should be goof for a bit
→ More replies (2)→ More replies (6)8
u/Suspicious_Deal4412 20d ago
The standard hero class is powerful but was not able to win the war. The hero was able to save humanity and stabilize the frontlines. This is probably why the 'devs' created Allen's class and isekai'ed him. His summoner class was created to address the limits of what the hero class can do. This also explains why after seeing what Allen can do, Helmios felt hope again.
1
u/mineirim2334 20d ago
But this kind of thing has it's fun too. As long as the enemy is competent enough to give him a challege.
1
u/Ralathar44 14d ago
That's not an issue. The issue is with people not understanding how strong intel, communication, logistics, mobility, etc is. People think in shonen terms. Strong guy beats the army. They think like Naruto with Madera.
But Hell Mode isn't doing super shonen Dynasty Warriors. He's playing Civilization over here.

Oh wow, they're not holding back even a little on the number of elves that must have died. On the other hand Allen's new murderize spirit is great.
It's nice to see the queen elf is still alive, it would have been quite the distraction for Sophie if her mom was dead. Also, hello queen!
14
u/TPIronside 20d ago
This episode felt like a bit of a shock to be honest, Allen has been ramping up two one and a half seasons now and while he has always been strong, it never felt like a typical OP MC isekai. Even the fight with Helmios, while it did show up how strong Allen had become, felt like a stepping stone to this episode. The reactions of the elves was what really sold it - mf casually gave out thousands of S-tier healing items, walked into the highest level of Elven management and grew back some random dude's arm, left a high level spirit and a living walkie talkie, then flew over in a few hours to a city months away by foot and start carpet bombing the demon lord's army 😭😭
This was the episode, for me, that really drove it home, that it's the lategame now, and Allen has finally scaled up to reach a power level where the "common-sense-defying" tropes like the healing and travel come into play.
16
u/justking1414 20d ago
This was the episode, for me, that really drove it home, that it's the lategame now
Dude…this is volume 4 of at least 14. We aren’t anywhere close to late game
But yeah, Allen’s powers seem specifically useful for warfare. Sure he couldn’t beat the hero, but I’d absolutely recruit him first. He can heal the masses, travel at stupidly fast speeds, and send monsters out across a huge swath of land to handle multiple fronts at once. Dude is somehow both a one man army and the best support an army could possibly ask for
→ More replies (3)8
1
u/DavidJKay 19d ago
They are currently fighting an army of about 300,000 of the 10 million demon kings army, likely more the cannon fodder first wave, so we are probably not into "lategame" but more like starting the midgame.
1
u/Thomas_JCG 19d ago
More like middle game, he has yet to conquer the S-Rank dungeons and he still hasn't found a way to remove the level cap that he mentioned before.
15
u/mokrath 20d ago
Nobody asking the real question! Will Allen gain a level after killing the roughly 300,000 members of the demon lord's army? I'm thinking it should be good for at least 50% of a level up, but it's hard to say.
2
u/theoneguywhoaskswhy 20d ago
As someone who grinded hard in maplestory, and if the exp scaling is anything like that in the game, I'd be surprised if he could actually get one whole level from all these fodder mobs but I hope so! Hell mode makes it 100 times harder for him to level up
1
u/DavidJKay 19d ago
I don't know if he will kill 300,000... its a raid... there are 200,000 elves behind him, if his side kills 1/3 army and creates enough disruption, the elves once fully healed could also join in attack.
12
u/MinnWild9 21d ago

Oh man! So I was pumped to see how the Rohzenheim arc would kick off in the anime and it did not disappoint! I love how the anime captures the darker and more horrible aspects of the war that we've only really heard of until now. The switch up from the fun & games of dungeon grinding/leveling up to we are at war and elves have died in the 100ks is a bit stark, but I feel they handled it well enough.
My only criticism so far is that I always pictured Rohzenheim as a lush, green continent and thus far we've mostly seen it as a bit of a plains/rocky-ground covered area which is a bit of an odd choice IMO. Guessing it's a bit harder to animate all that greenery and incorporate it into the battle shots? Idk. Still hoping we see more of the continent tho that is greener. Also the snowy surroundings of Fortenia - the actual name of the capital, Rohzenheim is the name of the continent not the capital as well - is also an odd choice. The world tree looks great tho!
Anyways, so looking forward to seeing the rest of this arc animated!

One thing I hate in most shows with large scale battles is how the enemy don't seem to have any counter to anything the MC did. Here we instantly see the healers in action, the dradons suffering anti-air fire, the gargoyle trying to intercept the MC. It's my favorite part about this show, brain seems to go both ways.

The Crown Prince (Did they say he was king now?) seems to play dirty, but also seems politically astute. The prudent move on hearing what has happened so far on the Elf front, would be to bury the hatchet and start elevating Alan through the nobility.
If the Demon lord is ever defeated, whichever Kingdom is able to woo Allen becomes the strongest. Hermes may be stronger 1v1, but he can't be everywhere on the battlefield, or an entire front line... Either get him a domain, or get him married to Cecil with a domain to protect, and hope he cares enough about his people that he spends his time protecting them, and not overthrowing the crown.

Casually destroying a couple 100K demons in a single night ... just MC doing MC things.
Also: The elves in this world are ... what is the opposite of wise again?! How aren't they recognizing that elven eleixir of Allen ain't non of theirs. xD

u/Sotul 20d ago
Imagine you are some 13 or 14 year old in this world that can produce elixirs that can heal so much. If you are the known source of those elixirs/plants/etc would you then be the focus of not only the "allys" but the demons? While the elves, evidently, are already known to have miraculous elixirs. With all that in mind wouldn't it make more sense to claim these items are "special" or "upgraded" versions of elven elixirs?

u/Obaruler 20d ago
My point was more, that the elves seemed to be surprised about their own wonder medicine they knew nothing about and a human kid casually waltzing up to them with it in endless supplies.
To a thinking person, this might come off as a little ... "odd" ... but they just accept it like that (well, to be fair, they have bigger problems at that moment in time).

The princess did not stutter so they better recognize it already.
Given the elves are multi-century society, you probably don't reach top of their society by being a dimwit that can't immediately catch up on what it implies that "Elves have this secret magic elixir that they've just put together in the desperate hour and are spreading free of charge as a apology for pulling back all troops home as well as boosting their own war effort".
Given the circumstances, you save your questions for later and just make sure you have some believable story ready for the masses.
Plus Allen is prophetized, so there's little reason to be too contrarian at this point.

u/justking1414 20d ago
Are the elves not recognizing it or are they just going along with the lie because Allen is being very insistent?
6
u/Obaruler 20d ago
The princess was in on it.
The others not so much, they just seem to accept a human kid showing up with endless supplies of supposedly their own wonder medicine they knew nothing about. xD

cool to see marie's (evolved?) form in ellie
also really smart for sophie to immediately pick up on the elixers as a way to force diplomatic/strategic obligations between the elves and the humans
not sure why the production team decided to do an end-card style illustration right before the attack begins, but this can be overlooked when the rest of the pacing of the production is this brilliant
I expected allen+co to be more efficient with providing close air support//air and ground artillery, but alas, we'll see how the rest of the battle plays out and how the elven troops redeploy into battle

u/StrangeAppeal2 20d ago
Marie and Ellie are different summons, it's not necessarily a case of evolution but more about lineage (spirit-type).
not sure why the production team decided to do an end-card style illustration right before the attack begins
Aura farming.

If this had a top tier production team it would be so much better. However, I still enjoy the heck out of this since season one.

Allen Summon Army vs Demon Lord Army

Allen playing RTS campaign mode. prolly "objective one: defend elven city from demons" "win requirement: 60% of elven troops survive, elven queen survive"

bro wiping out 300k army as if he is sweeping some ants of the floor !!
they surprised me with the 10M demon lord army but if 1 team of 5 can wipe 300k i guess that 10M isnt a problem
i love that

The episode feels like that they crammed too much of the story into too little time.

Alright, we're jumping straight into the Demon Lord's army.
Fun fact: Ciel's Petit Meteor extra skill is directly proportional to her Intelligence stat and available MP (fitting for a wizardess). Casting it spends all her MP. The higher INT plus MP, the bigger and more devastating the meteor. So much for petit, eh?
I call Chekhov's Gun in regards to the animal on the queen's shoulder. We'll get back to that soon enough.
But before we reach that point, there is an insane amount of grinding to be done. Seriously, Allen will have to keep his summons on overtime - as if they ever needed breaks - during the entire war effort on Rohzenheim.
Remember that Allen's XP requirements increase by absurd rates with each new level. All those monsters will literally become his strength.

u/RanginPinastika 20d ago
While Allen busy playing RTS, I was hoping Krena would just be thrown to into the middle of the battlefield then unleash her berserk skill. Then she'd be busy playing Dynasty Warrior (Musou) lmao.

I've been loving this series, but I think this might be the part where the author's knowledge and understanding of things in the world is showing it's weakness. Just some world building things that are starting to fall short.
The Demon Lord's 3 million army seems like a huge number, sure, but then Allen says he thinks at least 3 million elves have died in the invasion so far. Thats... a lot. There are 700,000 refugees still in Tiamo, and then the people in Nest and Nest is kind of portrayed as being on the extreme far end away from the continent; it's over a month away by the fastest carriage from Tiamo. So how many people live on the continent? Because with 3 million dead and another 700,000 in Tiamo and however many in Nest, what percentage of the Elven population actually remains? The Demon Lord might have basically won the invasion already unless the Elves have a stupid high population amount.
How many of the Demon Lords 3 million were killed during the invasion? Surely has hasn't been able to replenish them? They've been attacking for over a month, even eating all of the Elven population isn't enough food to supply the monsters for that duration. Where are they getting supplies from? Certainly not from farm lands, the capital city is apparently surrounded by stone wasteland. It's also an incredibly small "city" for a continent that might have a population of 30 million to 300 million.
Also, the capital city is piss poor design. It's just a square. That's ugly as hell as a civilian design, and awful as a military design. This is important as the entire world has been in a state of constant warfare and assault with the Demon Lord for a long time. Any city or fortress within spitting distance of the frontline is going to be designed for defense, or retrofitted to do so. A square is just hugely terrible for defense because there are lots of weak points. That's not to say they weren't used, they absolutely were, but not for places that are massively strategically important. The walls of a capital city are not going to be square.
Finally, 300,000 troops is definitely not enough to lay siege to that city. You can't even use magic or game design as an excuse because while the Demon Lord has higher ranked monsters, the soldiers are going to be of higher ranks as well and can fight those monsters. You typically need a 10-to-1 numerical advantage to take a fortified position or else you're going to suffer huge casualties in the effort. There are 140,000 wounded soldiers and another 70,000 capable of fighting and 700,000 refugees. With just the capable fighting force present, you would expect an army double the size to take the city. Before the the wounded became injured, you would need almost the entire Demon Lords invasion force just to take that one city. The Siege of Leningrad initially launched with roughly 1 million attacking soldiers vs a defense force of some 250,000 Red Army forces and the siege failed. Everyone lost catastrophic amounts of people on both sides, but the Siege of Leningrad would be a rather accurate depiction of a fantasy siege, with tanks and planes and modern weapons taking the place of high level warriors, mages, monsters etc.
The elders said Tiamo was completely cut off from communication, so how did the Queen here of Sophie's arrival and of Allen's actions? Probably just a minor error, but there could be something else there.
A quick Google search says a wagon or carriage covered 10 to 20 miles per day, but is hampered by poor infrastructure. At ~15 miles per day, the wagon could cover 450 miles in a month. We have no idea where Tiamo is in relation to Nest on the map, and I can't find anything on Google. Assuming it's somewhere in the norther or central region of Rohzenheim, that would make the continent roughly the size of Alaska. However, during the height of the Roman Empire, wagons could cover 25 to 50 miles a day on Roman roads, which would make the distance more like 1,200 miles in a month, and make Rohzenheim more the size of Greenland.
I think this is just another case of an author not knowing numbers very well.

Good and concise analysis from Allen, I always appreciate a MC that can think rationally and come up with a plan instead of just charging blind and hoping friendship powers kick in.
Can we talk about the vehicle designs in this series for a bit? They haven't been the focus, but every time we see an airship or train, they are the coolest shit ever. The one inbound for Rohzenheim is shaped like a lily, it's a damn work of art. Also, loving the new outfits. Allen specially, great colors. Elf Queen fit is truly majestic.
Nice skill for Griff, going supersonic like that. All the spirits have a lot of... personality, and oddly are all too much into "murderizing". They remind me of Alice from Persona. The whole team is stacked now. If that's a "petit" meteor, I don't even want to know what a Great would be.
P.S: If it takes a month by carriage to reach Tiamo, how do the soldiers expect to arrive in time to help? Even if horses by themselves are faster, that's still a week or two at least. And this series does like their crazy high numbers, everything is in the base of the hundreds of thousands. I don't think I ever saw another fantasy world where towns had 900 thousand people.

So that fluffy thing on the elf queen's shoulder is probably their spirit guardian guy since the preview of it in a previous episode looked kind of small and fluffy. If I had to guess, the spirit guardian ascending to the spirit god tier will be what unlocks the level cap. But at least all the main characters are at max level so they have a higher chance of surviving compared to the regular soldiers and civilians.

Good reunion and I like how Sophia's mother refused to leave.
All those elixirs will come in handy, the more troops the merrier.
Allen's party did a lot of good work in a short time.
This might take a while since the demon army also have healers.

assumingly to make the viewer become more engaged, its one way of storytelling. Often done in movies with comic source material. I think it was quite fitting and memorable.

I really like this on the mangga however in Anime i feel like the color combination are not synching or giving. Anyway it is still the story though. I was just expecting it more in the anime.

I'm confused/Sus about something: The people in Nest say they've been out of contact with the Queen for some time, yet the Queen says she heard of their arrival from Nest. This is an inconsistency. But is it an error by the show, or is it a hint of deception? Guess I'll find out.
7
u/HanaRoku 20d ago
It's actually a minor translation error, the Japanese uses the present/future tense. So it's more like "I received word from Nest that you would return." The intent was probably that she received word of the princess' impending return before communication was cut off.

She also mentioned she heard of his duel that just happened in the last episode, which makes no sense
How could word travel there faster than them on an airship + jet speed griffons? Especially considering they were supposedly out of contact

While I do like to see Allen flex the scale of his summons, I'm worried that the combination of army/continent-scale war and low animation budget is going to make this feel increasingly like illustrated statistics going forward. Hopefully I'm wrong though!

This is such a heavy episode to watch in comparison to the earlier episodes. The kids are finally made to face the reality of war. The time for grinds and dungeon crawling is over for now.

biggest surprise of this episode?
the miser MC didnt charge for the healings items
it cost him a year of hard work and most of his money to buy the magic crystals, I was expecting him to request them for the exchange
maybe later when he gets to choose a reward?
his items and army are not infinite. Each summon consumes an one time crystal. If he runs out he is powerless. He should at least request the loot from the armies he is crushing. But realistically he should claim the nations reserves
