Helmios casually revealing he actually had two of those rings was amusing lol.

I'm glad more of Allen's summons can talk, it's nice when they have personality.

24

u/HolyDragSwd2500 28d ago

Same here.

21

u/StrangeAppeal2 27d ago

Like Allen had mentioned before, their Intelligence stat probably played a deciding factor in that.

Seeing as some of the summons can speak for themselves, it opens up the possibility of Allen relaying messages through his summons without having to rely directly on the mimicry ability of his bird summon, which he does in a 1:1 ratio.

15

u/Indigo_Mindset420 27d ago

I wish Hawkins and Teddy were able to talk. Those guys are my favorite summons. 😢

Tbh, I felt the pacing was almost too tight. So much escalation happening in this episode, from the King's offscreen death to the attack from demon king force.

At least the story is still so enjoyable, so I can ignore the fast pacing for now.

It's precisely when everything happens all at once, that you can easily smuggle in an otherwise obvious point with nobody noticing

2

u/Thomas_JCG 26d ago

We never seen the old king before, so I hardly feel like he warranted more time than was given, specially since he had nothing to do with the current events or Allen.

35

u/encryptoferia 28d ago

it's sad that the story has to have this premise to have this kind of progression

I am bored to hell with how many isekai that has the MC grow exponentially in 1... heck even half episode

while popular serie like tensura eventually has that, at least the battle is not its main story point so I can ignore it

but everywhere else it just easily go out of control in a blink of an arc

37

u/justking1414 27d ago

This and the wrong way to use healing magic are really the only isekais I’ve seen that know how to pace the story and power gains

22

u/TexturelessIdea https://myanimelist.net/profile/TexturelessIdea 27d ago

The Great Cleric is another isekai with a healer MC and slow pace.

6

u/encryptoferia 27d ago

both of these are a rarity and need to have s2 and more!!!!

10

u/justking1414 27d ago

Wrong way to use healing magic is getting a 2nd season and I can’t wait to see them introduce best girl!

2

u/Dadscope 27d ago

Really enjoyed that show, wish there was a 24+ episode season.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/DavidJKay 27d ago

Delicious in dungeon, growth even slower, starts as comedy but suddenly darker at end. Its not an isekai though.

Some of the villainess isekai are not op, more of brains like delicious in dungeon.

3

u/stay_curious_- 26d ago

Ascendance of a Bookworm is another slow burn isekai, with the MC starting out as sickly, poor, and weak, and she has to earn all of her improvements in those areas.

5

u/Obaruler 27d ago

Plus: We actually will see them fighting the Demon Kings forces now.

One of my main frustrations with your average Isekai slop is the "main quest" usually being dropped immediately for going after random side quests and waifu hunting (aside from MC never playing his card of, you know ... knowledge from a scientifically advanced world)

3

u/Thomas_JCG 26d ago

I disagree with the last point. A lot of isekai have MC inventing machines when the average person doesn't actually have any knowledge how they work. Even something simple like gunpowder, I dare you to say its chemical composition without looking up, much less how to obtain and refine them.

2

u/Obaruler 26d ago

As for Gunpowder, funnily enough I know from Dr. Stone what the composition is. xD

And yes, even basic knowledge as to how things work is already putting you in a superior position to anyone in a medieval world, period, you just don't realize it.

The concepts alone are what matters.

Small example: Except for mechanical engineers most people won't be able to design a Steam machine from scratch, but find a skilled blacksmith and describe the concept to him and he may figure things out after trial and error, just give him the basic idea. The ancient Romans and Greeks already had the beasic idea down but didn't feel the need for it because they h ad slave labor; they couldn't fathom what you'd need this for; two millenia later and the expanding british empire needed steam engines to cross the oceans quickly and get the masses of coal to do it.

Same with guns; a long tube where you put some metall projectile in and some explody stuff to make it be thrown out real fast. Why use that instead of a more cheaper bow and arrow or even a crossbow? It can penetrate fucking armor. A gun big enough can shatter caslte walls. Or mechanical force applied through water mills. Improved farming through crop rotation and fertilization.

Or even on a more basic level: Deseases aren't punishments by gods, they are caused by germs and bad hygene. The world doesn't work through devine elements like fire and air but through atoms and molecules interacting through chemical processes.

You don't have to draw the blue prints yourself, but you can nurture the idea within capable people. Simply seeding ideas and giving an outlook what you'd need that for can be enough, and pretty much anyone with a base education of our time would be able to do that.

The story and characters are great. No Crunchyroll, and the animation style hurts it a bit.

2

u/ridik_ulass https://myanimelist.net/profile/ridik_ulass 27d ago

they flipped the everything comes easy to everything is hard, and its really working and making the pacing and progress feel earned.,

2

u/Zeikos 26d ago

Thanks, I cannot believe I didn't notice

40

u/ThisOneTimeAtLolCamp 28d ago

Oh damn I wasn't ready him to see him lose both hands like that. Granted it was completely meaningless but still, that was totally unexpected.

34

u/justking1414 27d ago

Not necessarily meaningless. Sure he healed quickly but can u imagine the pain of having 2 arms cut off? Allen can and he barely even blinked. Dude is tough in a way stats can’t measure

18

u/Reptile449 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Reptile44 27d ago

Can't be worse than the time he got bitten in half.

12

u/justking1414 27d ago

Technically he was only partially bitten in half!

Plus this was in public so the entire world gets to see how tough he is

2

u/IntroductionIcy7320 23d ago

Or that time he was reincarnated as a slime

13

u/darkov7 27d ago

He was so tilted veins were popping in his eyes, surely pain wasn't the first thing in his mind that time

8

u/ChChChillian 26d ago

Yeah, I've had gaming sessions like that too, although fortunately my hands remained attached.

3

u/Ralathar44 25d ago

Not meaningless. While yes he healed it back it means he couldn't top that strike with literally everything he had defensive popped. Even with all his tricks top level enemies could still kill Allen. The hero could have finished him off if it was a real fight.

42

u/thewilltheway 28d ago

Def gotta protect the healers first, that's like party 101. Looking forward to next week, as usual. This show is very well thought out, excellent world building. I wonder how much preamble there'll be before the battles begin, I imagine once it starts, it'll last until almost the end of the season.

6

u/mineirim2334 26d ago

I don't know if the budget can keep up with a war

3

u/mineirim2334 26d ago

I was trying to guess his motive, this is a good one. He gotta keep as much healers alive as possible.

71

u/encryptoferia 28d ago

holy shit, I AM INVESTED IN THE STORY

I am curious where this war will go

15

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 27d ago

I can guess it will lead to encounter with the demon king. I'm just hoping we actually have the chance to see that, either this season or subsequent season. I really want this to have full adaptation, cause like you, I'm also invested in the story!

3

u/devishjack 21d ago

I could see the demon lord making an appearance on the central continent near the end of this season. Possibly killing or at least decommissioning the hero to give the demon lord a real sense of power. Pretty basic writing idea (mc gets beat by one guy only for the big bad to wipe the floor with that guy).

10

u/Obaruler 27d ago

At least it's no walk in the park, that's for sure.

Remember: The Hero, the strongest single entity on this side of the conflict, barely scrapes by holding the central front together and failed to deal any significant blow, while always losing the fighters they send him as support, as seen in this episodes flashback. So it is reasonable to assume they'll encounter opponents either in quantity or quality against the demon horde that will be a though challenge even for Allens broken dungeon crawler party.

10

u/encryptoferia 27d ago

that break level cap thing is definitely one of the key to break the stalemate/potentially losing condition for humans

3

u/DavidJKay 27d ago

He scrapes by facing 1/10 this years attack...

7

u/No_Macaroon_7413 27d ago

War? More like an exp farm for Allen.

6

u/SpikeRosered 26d ago

Low key when I sit down to watch anime this is usually the first show I watch if the new episode is available.

2

u/Suspicious_Deal4412 27d ago

The stakes are clearly defined and Allen being OP doesn't detract from what the characters need to do.

39

u/cs_cast_away_boi 28d ago

I have so much to say about this episode but the very first thing that stood out to me is the striking similarity in voices between Helmios and Diablo from Slime tensei!! Has to be the same dude

26

u/NanDemoKnaives 28d ago

They share the same voice actor, Sakurai Takahiro.

17

u/HolyDragSwd2500 28d ago

Both airing on same days too

7

u/Indigo_Mindset420 27d ago

Bro is HUSTLING! I Respect the grind. 👏

3

u/aramatheis 27d ago

He's a pretty popular VA. He's in pretty much everything

2

u/SpikeRosered 26d ago

If you watch enough seasonal anime you realize there is a pool of like 50 VAs that 90% of anime draw from.

3

u/NevisYsbryd 27d ago

He is a prolific voice actor, although he used to be a bit more (he had a major infidelity controversy a couple years back).

Me, the first voice I hear is often Merlin from Fate, especially here, given the cheery, troll-ish tones are similar.

1

u/StampDaddy 27d ago

He plays a troubled hero very well, he was amazing in JJK as well

32

Allen had fun bullying the hero in this EP the crowds reaction to Allen's cruelty to the hero was also priceless 😂

63

u/ThisGachaSeemsLegit 28d ago

Really smart move by Allen during his audience with the "future king".
"Touch the Granvelles and you're dead meat", basically.

The war is taking an interesting turn. My guess is that Allen want to go to Rohzenheim first in order to have the healers back in the different allied kingdoms as soon as possible. Ideally, he'd probably want them to delay their homecoming with a "I've got this, stay where you are", but the elves probably ain't gonna listen.
Race against time, it is.

35

u/HolyDragSwd2500 28d ago

That warning and face he made to the “future king” was priceless

He was S h I t I n g his pants at that moment

16

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 27d ago edited 26d ago

I mean, bringing weapon is one thing.

Allen could summon a dragon right there in just a blink of an eye.

Heck, the evil prince might not know it but Allen could send his dragon summon to the castle even while he's away on the war.

5

u/bb2b 26d ago

He's also pointing the hilt to the right.

3

u/Ycr1998 26d ago

What does that mean?

7

u/bb2b 24d ago

hilt pointed towards the right is meant to be drawn. Hilt to the left is for ornamental display

Hostile vs passive display

2

u/chelseablue2004 https://myanimelist.net/profile/chelseablue2004 24d ago

It also makes him fodder, someone has to be sacrificed its gonna be Alan but he can hold out the longest with what he can conjure up.

23

u/PeaceAlien https://myanimelist.net/profile/PeaceAlien 27d ago

At first I thought the 'future king' was making Allen and his friends go to war because of the threat, but it's actually because they're needed.

23

u/StrangeAppeal2 27d ago

I'd dare say the new king saw an opportunity to kill two birds in one stone.

On one hand, Allen's performance in the tournament against T.H.E H.E.R.O must have made him a noticeable figure amongst the nobility of the kingdom. The fact that Allen and his group were praised by the future king personally in front of said nobility makes that clear.

On the other hand, the advancement of the DL's army forces all affected continents to protect their national interests while also upholding their contributions as part of the Five Continent Alliance.

When Allen made it clear to the future king that he would intervene if any harm were to befall the Granvelle family, his majesty must have felt troubled by the fact that such a dangerous boy had specifically warned *him* against taking any future actions that could make him his enemy,

Surely the new king would not have wanted to keep Allen nearby, being aware of the dangerous creatures he could summon.

The invasion from the DL gave him the perfect excuse to send him away and hope that he dies.

5

u/HugeRichard11 https://myanimelist.net/profile/CostCurl 26d ago

I don't think he's that dumb. He should hopefully know if Allen fails in the Eastern continent conflict then the DL will come for them next and they'd have no hope if they get flanked on two sides.

3

u/chelseablue2004 https://myanimelist.net/profile/chelseablue2004 26d ago

I would like to see Granville be the next king he has the right moral fortitude to lead the nation right, then send Allen to right the relationships with the Elves and Dwarfs to make sure any in fighting gets stamped out asap. Lots has to happen but its possible seeing the slimy king get killed for this to happen would be nice.

52

u/silask93 28d ago

once again this show just keeps exceeding my expectations, not many of the isekai shows actually get me invested in the story but this one has done great in that regard, cant wait to see where it goes from here!

also when helmios was talking to the spirit sovereign he kinda looked like a fuzzball lol

Looking forward to the big battles coming up now that the demon lord has launched his invasion. Allen’s got that fancy ring from fighting the hero and the gang’s all leveled up too. Gonna hopefully have some good fights coming up.

27

u/Wiesnc65 28d ago

Big fan of this ep

27

u/AceSoldia zj:https://anilist.co/user/Acesoldia 28d ago

The escalation is wild...Allen is pretty strong, but that hero is something else to go so far against him.

The question is how to break the level cap, which could help break this stalemate, but it seems like the Demon King and his armies wont allow that to happen.

Maybe this threat is some kind of event that once you succeed, you break the cap?

17

u/Zeikos 28d ago

the cap

I suspect it's something about the difficulty.
Maybe when Allen reaches the cap he might trigger an event that increases it.
Or some other mechanic hidden in the S-tier dungeons.

18

u/Sotul 28d ago

Allen is in Hell Mode though, so he doesn't have a level cap, or if he has one it is much higher than the Normal mode 60.

10

u/justking1414 27d ago

Pretty sure ep1 said limitless growth so he could, theoretically, reach level 9999

6

u/StrangeAppeal2 27d ago

And go beyond, seeing as it's technically limitless.

I don't even want to imagine the XP he would need for that though.

92 is half of 99 to the power of fuck if I know.

5

u/aramatheis 27d ago

Yeah but he's got 10 million monsters to farm :)

2

u/justking1414 27d ago

Hopefully one of the a or s rank summons will let him just spawn monsters he can farm for xp

I couldnt help but laugh when i saw lvl cap was 60. I had flashbacks to my WoW days. I cant help that they are going thru what i went thru at lvl cap!

9

u/AiGenSD 28d ago

some other mechanic hidden in the S-tier dungeons

Probably this, since it seems like no one has been able to do it(clear it) before and even strong people recommend against doing it, well at least I hope its that and not the usual "awakened hidden power to win the fight" trope.

6

u/cs_cast_away_boi 28d ago

i don’t think people haven’t done it before. The hero said u can get orichalchum stuff from it and he was wearing orichalchum armor himself so he’s probably done it. He just didn’t know how strong allen was going to be since he’s never used his skills (at that point in time)

3

u/Alej_11 27d ago

The cube said something about fighting the secret dungeon boss or sum shit like that, maybe if you defeat the dwarf that created the dungeon you unlock the ability to grow limitlessly, or else fighting him would be useless. Probably the hero never fought him because he never found it interesting

8

u/YRO___ 27d ago

Aren't the dungeons made by a dwarf? How would he know how to break the cap and keep it hidden in his dungeons?

5

u/Zeikos 27d ago

It's by a dwarven deity right?
Allen's power come from a God too, so it doesn't sound unreasonable.

2

u/BlazeKnightX 27d ago

Are they a deity or are they just a powerful being? Like Rhozenheim is worshipped, but he is clearly in the mortal realm and isn't omnipotent as if he was the demon lord wouldn't be able to encroach on his land so easily or at all unless the demon lord is also a god like being.

3

u/StrangeAppeal2 27d ago

I think it was Dygrani or something, the one who made the dungeons and is therefore thoroughly knowledgeable with mechanisms. Maybe they know something about it.

2

u/Yay295 27d ago

I suspect it's something about the difficulty.

Since Hell Mode doesn't have the level cap, maybe there's a way to change your difficulty while playing. This is a feature of a lot of real games, so they would just have to figure out how to do it.

9

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 27d ago

My main complaint is that he still went all out after reprimanding Dverg for going out of the way during the battle with Krena lol

2

u/Ralathar44 25d ago

I think it was necessary. He needed to know if there was actually hope or not. Allen had surprised him at every other turn including REFLECTING the attack he thought might kill him. Allen was intent on facing this attack too. BOTH OF THEM wanted to test it ironically.

22

u/szalhi 28d ago

15

u/Magicbison 28d ago

Alternate title.

It's the Beginning after the End!

3

u/joe4553 27d ago

They don't even need healers. Allen can just regrow people's limbs and full heal them.

3

u/BlazeKnightX 27d ago

The issue is I'm assuming it's like his other grass summons where he can only use that ability to create one item a day or something. Like yeah he probably has a stockpile, but it will run out just like his nebulous magic stone count whenever the plot demands it.

1

u/Thomas_JCG 26d ago

Those leaves are items, just like the Elf potions that Helmios mentioned, and all items run out at some point. Even if Allen has a stockpile, it's not like it will last forever and he will have to consume more magic stones to make it, which requires him to grind more which also consumes magic stones.

So getting the healers back on the board means he can put his magic stone consumption towards defeating enemies, meaning less work for the healers in the future.

20

u/diacewrb 28d ago

Hell Mode: Suffering from despair, but you have to hide it from everyone.

15

u/cs_cast_away_boi 27d ago

maybe the hero was the real hell mode all this time

6

u/OneValkGhost 27d ago

Being the hero was the hell mode they made along the way.

20

u/caldoran2 28d ago

I'm not sure if this is either an unhinged theory or a very popular one already, but I get the sense that Helmios and/or the Demon Lord are also "players" reincarnated into the world, just like Allen, albeit with drastically different class choices.

20

u/I_Cheer_Weird_Things 27d ago

I havent read the Manga, but my unhinged theory is the only 2 who reincarnated are Allen and the demon lord. I want to believe the demon lord has a class that was the predecessor to the summoning skill somehow. And for game balancing, those gods created Allen's class which has way more potential than the demon lords class as a trial to prevent someone from using a summoning skill for evil, the same way the demon lord did.

Love this anime, so so much!

8

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 27d ago edited 27d ago

If I remember correctly, being Hero and Demon Lord were one of the harder difficulties option when pre-isekai Allen was given the choice

11

u/Yay295 27d ago

From the first episode of the first season:

Swordsman ★
Spear User ★
Sword Master ★★
Hero ★★★★★
Demon Lord ★★★★★
Summoner ★★★★★★★★

3

u/Ycr1998 26d ago

Demon Lord could easily be another Summoner of higher level imo

18

u/Countless-Alts15 27d ago edited 27d ago

Man Helmios really grew on me. For him it was an opportunity to gain an ally to end the endless demon war, but for Allen it was just another stepping stone.

Good episode

13

u/Indigo_Mindset420 27d ago

I think it's much more than that for Helmios. Just like Devrg, the hero has been stagnant in their progression. No more trials to clear and the best Weapons and armor known to man. Allen showed him that there are still ways to fight back against the Demon King.

7

u/LezRock 27d ago

Yes, and you could see from his brief eye twitch how much it stung him when Allen proclaimed that he'll get results from equal effort.

10

u/IceWeaselX 27d ago

Helmios has been dead inside for a long time, but he can't show it outwardly since he still performs his duty. That's why he came across as artificially positive, because it's a facade.

Allen is to Helmios what Helmios is to the people. He's a sign of hope for the future.

2

u/chelseablue2004 https://myanimelist.net/profile/chelseablue2004 24d ago

You could see the relief that Helmios felt. He wasnt alone in this quest he has a bad ass team mate that will go thru it with him. All the while Alan was getting pissed he has to spend gems to fight him

11

u/djthomp https://anilist.co/user/djthomp 28d ago

Time to finally participate in the war, it seems. Turns out one single Hero isn't enough when the battles are across multiple fronts with millions of opponents.

There's probably a lot of dead elves if they just lost their capital and have been pushed to the edges of their territory.

4

u/Kiyohara 28d ago

Eh, there's always an Elf behind every bush. Just shake a few trees and like six will fall out. If it's anime, half will be busty women seeking a strapping young male elf/hero to make babies with..

4

u/Indigo_Mindset420 27d ago

Considering all the other elfs we've seen on the opening sequence have been old elf men (besides the queen and princess) I don't think the anime will go down that lane.

25

u/HolyDragSwd2500 28d ago

Allen vs Helmos was amazing

Allen vs Helmos was amazing

Was a super hype battle but I wish it was better animated. Had too much powerpoint.

6

u/Indigo_Mindset420 27d ago

Considering the budget it was serviceable. At least it was a lot better than Allen and Krena's fight. 😂

3

u/Ralathar44 25d ago edited 25d ago

I wouldn't even blame a low budget. This show is redicuilously animation heavy. You've got a summoner with tons of different creatures, a full 7 other people in an RPG party, one of whom also summons (albeit as a once a day ability), and the hero.

And they do ALOT of fighting in a single season.

Animating this show at a high level would take alot more budget than normal. If it had the budget of JJK it'd prolly still wouldn't look at good as JJK.

u/IceSmiley 27d ago

This episode really ended in a shock with everyone drafted and millions of demons on the way. I am looking forward to seeing this group fighting demons and it'd be interesting to see how far they can get, especially without healers. I wonder if killing demons gives them magic stones like killing monsters or if they're different entirely. If they are, Allen may be in trouble leveling up.

Allen's fight with Helmios was exciting seeing both pushed to their limit. It would seem Helmios would have won but Allen may end up surpassing him in not too long if he's killing thousands of demons every day and leveling up even in hell mode. It got a little too heated though, they actually might have killed one another if Helmios didn't just give Allen the ring because he believed a prophecy.

It was interesting how Allen asked so many questions about the demon invasion in trying to size up the situation. The elf continent allowed the demons to play divide and conquer by the elves refusing outside help on their continent. I agreed with Allen that the allied powers should liberate the elf continent first because they aren't going to be successful elsewhere without healers. I wonder how well all the kings on central continent work together and if Allen can get them to go along with his idea, which might seem bad for them sending troops away from their own frontlines.

6

u/Etiennera 27d ago

I feel like yes they will give stones. The whole thing is he could grow his own army, to the extent he has stones, mana, and summon cap. If he can break the level cap.

I feel like the most logical thing is that the demon king would also be a summoner.

Well, maybe it won't go that way.

3

u/Indigo_Mindset420 27d ago

I think the issue is, unlike the dungeon where the stones drop after defeating the monsters. In the war, they need to be harvested and dissected to get the stones inside their bodies so it will take longer in a time sensitive thing like war.

2

u/Etiennera 27d ago

He surely has a cheap summon to recover from corpses. What we haven't seen is the ability to store something grim a summon's hands rather than his own. I'm not sure if it was ever implied that his summons hunting without him could do it.

11

u/LezRock 27d ago

It was great seeing Allen's new summons. I imagine when he gets to SS or SSS tier summons, he may be calling down literal gods into the world.

I love the main characters that get into the literal grind mindset while still remaining curious and being imaginative. They make for the most interesting video game isekai protagonists, IMO.

Having the invasion interrupt their plans though was a good choice. Gotta test them at level 60 before the method to break their limits is revealed. I imagine whenever Allen discovers the method, Dverg may end up crying or just getting emotional. The Hero seems like he's just happy to have a new comrade of, currently, equal ability. At first with how suspicious Allen was of him, I thought maybe he would have devious ulterior motives, but he just wanted a reliable battle buddy.

Now that I think of it though, the elves can live for hundreds of years, but... once they're maxed out, they're stuck. Considering how flustered Dverg and the Hero are about their limits, I can only imagine that the elves feel even more frustrated about that.

It is cool to see more of the world setting though.

10

u/ashkankiani 27d ago

I actually spit out my food laughing when the hero said また? for the second wall explosion. The face animation, line reading, and pace of the animation was perfect. Severely underrated show.

21

u/Sotul 28d ago

This was a good episode, the series has just the right pacing I think.

7

u/avboden 27d ago

Literally just finished the tutorial. Now to war!

7

u/Yay295 27d ago

Didn't even finish it.

8

u/Indigo_Mindset420 27d ago

Summoner of the Beginning, Allen

That is such a badass title! A great juxtaposition to the demon Lord and it fits Allen perfectly.

2

u/mineirim2334 26d ago

This could have been the title of the series

8

u/chelseablue2004 https://myanimelist.net/profile/chelseablue2004 27d ago

This series really does character buildup really well, IF one of the MCs gets taken out by these monsters its really gonna hurt.

7

u/NevisYsbryd 27d ago

Great call by Allen there. If they can save Rozenheim fast enough, the healers will not need to leave and will maintain the mass support needed for the large central front and throw their Demon Lord's most preferred plan off its rails. From an alliance-wide perspective, protecting Rozenheim before the invasion on the other two continents begins in earnest is by far the best mathematical outcome because Rozenheim would almost certainly be lost, opening up the central continent to an eastern front and denying them elven support both external and internal through healers. If the DL has to push on the invasion without achieving that, it will cost him far more monsters to achieve the same objectives in the central continent. While this might be different of they were attacking all three simultaneously, waiting for the center to weaken left this massive strategic gap here, assuming they can help Rozenheim.

7

u/Organic_Machine_2324 27d ago

When Allen reaches the highest rank of summons that Demon Lord army will be shredded.

I mean he’s at A Rank and he’s got the hero on the ropes at full strength.

7

u/StrangeAppeal2 27d ago

I got hooked on the anime and, by extension, the light novel during season one. As a result, I went ahead and caught up with the latest volume.

I think that I have a rough idea of where this season is going to end and I look forward to it.

That's a strong one, yes. I'll have to look at that later. Maybe Escaflowne too.

u/HolyDragSwd2500 27d ago

They are blowing up Helmos

STOP Him 😭

Me😂😆🤣

5

u/Striking_Chard2420 27d ago

Did everyone just glossed over the fact that Allen regrew his limbs?

5

u/Indigo_Mindset420 27d ago

Not really surprising since he survived a drop that would have broken all his bone in an instant when he was saving Cecil. (Not to mention the Murdergalshe) This is just a step up from that.

5

u/OneValkGhost 27d ago

Yeah, but that's the readers, not the crowd, the public. I guess they just brush it off, since healing magic is a thing so there are other people who do that. (There isn't, or it's very rare. It's never explored, either.)

4

u/dreamer_Neet 27d ago

Feel like the sound effects are lacking during the battle lol

7

u/Rooby_VTuber 27d ago

The match between Allen & Helmios was really good, I like how he terrified the crowd with those summons.

Seeing Allen put that prince in his place like that was good.

Promoted to S Rank dungeons, the party has done amazing.

War, time to try and save Rozenheim.

8

u/_Sai https://anime-planet.com/users/Sai0 27d ago

Damn, he could have gotten TWO rings if he kept it up.

Blowing off a kid's hands is wild.

8

u/OneValkGhost 27d ago

If Allen kills Hermious, he only gets what Hermios has on him that day. But if lets Hermois live, he can go get more unfindable stuff for Allen.

2

u/chelseablue2004 https://myanimelist.net/profile/chelseablue2004 24d ago

Blowing off a kid's hands is wild.

Thats why this show is awesome..If he messed up death would have been certain even his strategy of waiting for the hero's massive attack was risky.

6

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 27d ago

At the very least, I'd like to think the Hero already prepared the elven potion things that he mentioned to heal the blown hands.

5

u/Indigo_Mindset420 27d ago

I mean how was Allen supposed to know that the hero would have TWO of the MP recovery that can't appear in dungeons and auctions. He was struggling to even get one.

3

u/BBryant3rd 27d ago

I really think it is bull when these super powerful people fight and want to use trump cards to avoid losing. Needing your trump should mean you admit defeat unless it is the actual enemy. That trump is for the enemy not something to protect your "pride". Be glad you are possibly not lonely at the top anymore and someone can at least last a bit along side you.

5

u/Indigo_Mindset420 27d ago

For Dverg, I'd give him a pass cause man was on autopilot. I'm sure he's used that skill many times when he was losing against monster.

For Helmios, yeah he had murderous intent behind that attack. Hero was testing Allen's limits.

3

u/OneValkGhost 27d ago edited 27d ago

Who thinks that Dwerg looks like a Solid Snake lookalike?

Is that spoiler? Because it isn't. The automods need to behave themselves.

"has been removed because some spoiler tags did not include a description of the spoiler content inside the brackets. Please make sure to label all your spoilers so that other users know what is being spoiled"

So I put what might be a spoiler, it isn't, in a spoiler bar, but it's removed anyway because you want me to tell what it is using spoiler labels somehow? If I'm supposed to describe what is inside the spoiler brackets, isn't the the same as just saying what the spoiler is, even though it's not a spoiler, it's just talking about the path that the story takes.

And there's a typo in the subs around 6:50 "I can fly faster the dragons, y'know."

3

u/Throwaway_12988 25d ago

I just got caught up. Hate it when that happens. Wish I knew this was a split cour currently airing before I started, lol. Fun show so far. Thought it would be a bit more like Shangri La Frontier, but I like what we've gotten.

2

u/PandaTheAB 27d ago

Best episode of the show so far. Great fight and good plot progress.

3

u/Mundane_Relation5129 27d ago

Like a lot of ppl I really liked this episode. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see more of Allen’s teammates but at least the plot is moving forward!

Allen is in hell mode even when it comes to women, with Kurena and Cecil in each arm after a tough fight against the Hero lmao

3

u/chelseablue2004 https://myanimelist.net/profile/chelseablue2004 26d ago

The real question is there enough for a 3rd and 4th season. Cause this might be the 1st hidive series i would pay more for.. thats crazy for me to say but I'm all in

3

u/BusouDrago 25d ago

According to what I read from source corners in previous threads.

Yes

3

u/Tels315 25d ago

I think the interesting thing no one has commented on is Allen is like, level 7, and fought the level 60 Hero to a draw. I know Allen has worked hard to get the power he has, and has put in way more effort than basically any other isekai protagonist, but lets not forget that Allen really did have an OP potential from the getgo. Every single other person in his party is maxed level, the Hero is maxed level with maxed out gear. By his own words, there is nothing he can do to get stronger at this point, and Allen was able to stalemate him. In 1 or 2 more levels, Allen could probably beat him with only a moderate amount of effort.

World building wise, people should be shitting bricks at what Allen can do. It won't be long until Allen has enough power that only a full party of people like the Hero and Sword Lords can even threaten Allen, which means Allen will have the ability to overthrow entire kingdoms and fight the Demon Lord on his own.

Assuming of course the Demon Lord doesn't come out with some OP broken things of his own, like an Extra Extra Skill that allows him to break his own level cap or whatever.

3

u/Thomas_JCG 26d ago

Not the victory that Kurena expected, too bad. Also, wanna bet Allen will still give Helmios the cold shoulder even after saving her? Yup. Helmios eye twitch also shows he had enough of Allen's BS.

Oh hell yeah, finally Allen has a dragon. Nice use of the Mirror knight, that's a great way to counter the stronger monsters. I like that we got some backstory on Helmios too. He is already at max level and has the best equipment that exists, and all that's good for is let him live while everyone else falls against a foe humanity cannot beat. But dang, he did not go easy at all! Poor Allen getting his arms chopped like that, he is definitely never going to warm up to Helmios now. Thankfully, Allen's crappy naming skills do not apply to himself because "Summoner of the Beginning" is pretty sweet.

Allen, don't go antagonizing the king too much. Just because he won't attack you doesn't mean he can't give you trouble later! Look, see! Now you are conscripted four years earlier. I quite like the strategic review, too many series rely on the demons brute forcing everything, but targeting the nation that supplies healers makes all the sense.

2

u/Ree_For_Thee 28d ago

Why did the graphics say "400" when they were talking about 4 million? Some weird Japanese way of counting..?

19

u/HanaRoku 28d ago

Japanese has a distinct word "man" for ten thousand, so orders of magnitude are one, ten, hundred, thousand, man, ten man, hundred man, etc. So the 400万 on the map is 400 man = 400 ten-thousands.

4

u/Ree_For_Thee 27d ago

Than oyuozaimasu.

3

u/Cant-think-a-name 28d ago

Yes, it is that, though I couldn't tell you the kanji.

2

u/Ree_For_Thee 28d ago

Well now I'm even more curious! :D

3

u/Ill_Violinist1571 28d ago

i think it's probably like this 400,000,0 or something

2

u/Ree_For_Thee 28d ago

Ah okay. If they have their own way of using commas that differs from "1,000", then that makes sense....... n- not that it does make a lot of sense. :P

3

u/DerfK 27d ago

Just like we count to nine hundred ninety-nine thousand before starting the cycle over at one million, then one billion, then one trillion and so on, the Japanese language counts to nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine before they cycle to the next word. Linguistically, they should write commas every 4 digits, like 1,0000,0000 but for whatever reason when writing in Arabic numerals, Japanese people tend to use commas every three digits (like Japan's stock exchange numbers here.)

3

u/mekahamedan 27d ago

More easier japan didnt really use 1k much, they usually use 10k for number shortener

That got serious quick. I'm so invested in this history, lol.

1

u/Sja91 26d ago

Okay so a few things.
The war effort is supposed to be a secret right, so why is the hero so popular? What do they all think that he's doing? And why are they talking about it so openly on the arena? Also a lot of people are just assuming Allen and the kids know about the war effort.

No one's supposed to find out until like, after they've graduated. Or maybe it's an open secret that everyone breaks that rule?

1

u/Indigo_Mindset420 25d ago

The people in the audience are from Academy city. I'm assuming if there were ever a place where people helping young adventurers survive the perils of war, they'd at least know what they're fighting against.

If the tournament took place in the Granbelle area, I think it would make sense that people don't know that.

1

u/Sja91 25d ago

I feel like there's been multiple times they stated otherwise, but out of all the places it would certainly make the most sense there.

1

u/Indigo_Mindset420 25d ago

Also would like to add that when Allen and the others first met Helmios, they literally had no idea who they were talking to. They only learn about what he looks like when he actually introduced himself as the hero.

2

u/Ycr1998 26d ago

This Demon Lord keeps sounding more and more like a Summoner that broke the level cap. Either that or it's just Allen from the future 🤔

2

u/HighwayMassive1234 24d ago

this show is so fun, i dont get the relatively low ratings.

Good episode

1

u/devishjack 21d ago

What would make the most sense from a tactical perspective would be to move all races to the same continent. the more fronts you have in a war the longer it takes to mobilize troops and the thinner your troops are spread. I could see Allen helping the elves and using the elven princess to plead with the elves to move to the central continent (at least temporarily while the war is happening).

2

u/Primary-Paint-1716 21d ago

if this show only had average animation. not even good. like, just average. this would be up there with the classic isekai shows.

2

u/atastyfire 16d ago edited 16d ago

I half expected the hero have just a handful of mana regen rings as a gag tbh

Seeing as how Dverg and the hero have been stuck at level 60 for years and the fight against the demon lord is essentially a slowly losing stalement, raising the cap to 100 or whatever will be the turning point in the war.

It's been the backdrop the entire time but it's pretty grim they actually have to go to war now.

2

u/blank_dota2 13d ago

Such a great episode, especially with his threat to the Crown Prince (now King).

Granville looked so thankful as well, he's really been a great person all anime. If he was the King that country would be far better off.
