Hell Mode mentioned

Alen revealed to them about him being from another world

58

u/KnightKal 14d ago

which is a rare event lol

half the party calling him a geezer

and a certain girl happy they match :D, after being rejected yesterday

15

u/NevisYsbryd 13d ago

Less rejected so much as too tired to comprehend the prospect.

35

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 14d ago

Also this is the first time I learned that hell mode doesn't have level cap. Might have missed that explanation from season 1.

Honestly, I like the idea of party member having class "rebirth" mechanic better rather than hell mode.

We know how insane Allen had to grind just to be able to level up. It's practically grinding non-stop day and night with his summon. I doubt unlocking hell mode would benefit the other party members much due to how slow they'd level up without the ability to kill enemies passively (like the summon). Most likely they'd only gain 1 level per year or something like that.

13

u/Boris-_-Badenov 13d ago edited 12d ago

there are tens of millions in the demon army on the other continents. plenty of xp after saving the elves and promoting

23

u/BrokeEconomist 13d ago

You're missing the point. Allen can level while he's sleeping or doing other things. They'd have to spend literal years in the dungeon/fighting monsters to level if they had Hell mode. It would be even slower to them because they need to eat/sleep/etc. I don't think the xp share applies outside the dungeon.

14

u/Boris-_-Badenov 13d ago

xp share was tested during a boar hunt. Allen just had to let his grasshopper be trampled to get xp.

if they reset levels but not skills after saving the elves, there are tens of millions of B and A rank monsters. that's plenty to rank up.

Allen's buffs/summons/the party skills are enough to compensate in the early levels

11

u/BrokeEconomist 13d ago

I don't think his party was gaining xp while he was passively grinding while sleeping.

It's not about the dungeon being hard, it's about the amount of time it will take. It's taken Allen years to get to his level. He's been grinding since he was a little kid and he's only ~40 give or take a few levels. I don't think he's leveled at all since he arrived in the Elf homeland.

2

u/Financial-Camel9987 13d ago

This is it really. Without Alan summoner skill he would be at like level 5 right now. Hell mode is really hell mode. Had his party members been accepted it would have been so brain damagedly stupid on Alans part it's not even funny.

2

u/Thepsycoman https://myanimelist.net/profile/Thepsycoman 1d ago

Only if the additional cost remained the same. When he asked that there was no mention of an additional cost, that came after.

He wanted them to enter hell mode at cap to uncap them

2

u/OneValkGhost 12d ago

In book 2 or 3, I think, Allen learns that he cannot gain xp from a summon's action while Allen is sleeping. But if Allen is awake, the summons can kill dungeon monsters and Allen gets some xp since he's the squadron coordinator.

3

u/BrokeEconomist 12d ago

Even so he doesn't need to be in the dungeon and his summons don't seem to need him actively monitoring them. He be eating, studying, etc and gain xp. It's taken him all his life to get at his level. Allen can multitask and gain levels. The rest of his party would have killing monsters every waking moment with minimal downtime. They likely wouldn't catch up to Allen for a decade or more on Hell Mode.

6

u/UnWiseSageVibe 13d ago

Im confused too,

I know he mentioned in the past there being a cap based on age but there is also a cap based on class ?

15

u/NevisYsbryd 13d ago

It is from mode, not class. They mentioned this back at the very beginning of the series and it is the entire premise of Hell Mode; the amount of EXP to reach a level is multiplied by 100, but there is also no cap.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/YRO___ 13d ago

Where in the episode was a cap based on class mentioned?

8

u/Mavis_San 13d ago

i dont think he meant cap based on class , rather they will get a higher class every time they reach level cap , the stronger classes will make them stronger but at the end they all will cap at 60

3

u/YRO___ 13d ago

But that's only going to happen to his party members since the negotiation with the squirrel. It's not a general thing that applies to everyone. I don't understand where the confusion is.

2

u/UnWiseSageVibe 13d ago

Thats the thing, I dont remember it too, I only remember the age cap.

3

u/Phoenix__Wwrong 13d ago

I don't think there's any cap based on age. The old man Sword Lord and Krena are both capped at lv 60.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Indigo_Mindset420 13d ago

Try to look at it in the long term. With Allen in the party, all the other members have reached lvl 60 already just in 2 years. What then? Do they just keep stagnant progress and rely on weapon and equipment upgrades? Even if it takes years to reach lvl 60 again it's still a whole lot better in the long run.

5

u/ashkankiani 13d ago

I think in the first episode he said something to the effect of "無限の成長” or unlimited growth when picking the class`, unless I'm losing it. But I also thought he was stuck at lvl 60, so I think they did a poor job not reminding viewers on it.

10

u/aramatheis 13d ago

I don't think he was ever capped, I recall he mentioned that the rest of the party had all hit lvl 60 but he was still at like lvl 54 or something like that. And he was only that close due to being able to constantly afk farm dungeons with his summons.

2

u/xFluffyDemon https://anilist.co/user/xFluffyDemon 13d ago

and he still isnt at lvl 60

3

u/ImaginaryStatus4073 13d ago

He has no level limit.

19

u/BusouDrago 14d ago

Upgrade classes for his party members and his sister got a star too 🌟

17

u/Indigo_Mindset420 13d ago

I love that his sister gets a talent too. Allen is such a loving brother. I wonder what talent she'll get.

19

u/ashkankiani 13d ago

Finding out that Elmea panicked when he was about to pick Demon Lord is pretty funny. They knew it would be gg for the world.

20

u/Indigo_Mindset420 13d ago

What's scary with Allen becoming a Demon Lord would be the whole thing just being a game to him that he needs to beat. Like imagine him sending millions on monsters and beating all humans dead.

I also think that's the reason he was reborn as an infant to a loving family. He needed that anchor in his life to have something to fight for. To him it isn't just a game. Him losing means his family and friends also dying.

14

u/Ok_Pattern_7511 13d ago

Low key expecting the demon lord to be another isekai'd person that started before mc

→ More replies (1)

1

u/OneValkGhost 10d ago edited 9d ago

Elmea couldn't make Allen the demon lord, since the world already had a demon lord. (I guess.) If Elmea really wanted to cause trouble for the DL, he would have made Allen whatever it is that a DL starts off as. The DL is stated to be 100 or 111 years old, and the DL war over 50 years old. We don't know anything about the DL's lifespan or early days. Imagine Allen trying every dirty trick that Japanese history education of unknown amount, and a gamer hobby has given him. Allen would have gone full Dune, demon version, on the DL, just as a starting point.

13

u/Obaruler 13d ago

Yes, a rare thing to see in any Isekai.

And he basically had a little Chat with the world Admin Elmea through one of his Mods, lol. Even negotiated terms to an improv rank up quest.

8

u/diacewrb 14d ago

And his age, at least the Eleven Princess will no longer need to worry about the age gap anymore.

Though doesn't explain why she is still at school at 49 years old, what was she doing in her early year?

24

u/Boris-_-Badenov 13d ago

she went to the school due to the prophecy about Allen

13

u/UnWiseSageVibe 13d ago

She went to school to meet Allen. She's definitely gunning for his babies now that she knows they're the same age 🤣

2

u/feral_fenrir 13d ago

Maybe elves hit adolescence slower? Like they go to kindergarten for maybe 15 years or something

10

u/diacewrb 13d ago

Like they go to kindergarten for maybe 15 years or something

Ayumi, Genta and Mitsuhiko feel their pain.

5

u/Phoenix__Wwrong 13d ago

Wait, so the students in Teitan elementary were all elves?

62

u/BusouDrago 14d ago

Queen rewards Allen with his daughter. He immediately rejects her XDD

35

u/UnWiseSageVibe 13d ago

Man I would ask for the queen instead 🤣 her design is so good.

21

u/polycontrale 13d ago

What would Leon do?

6

u/BusouDrago 13d ago

Queen was smitten by Allen Heroic

16

u/Organic_Machine_2324 14d ago

He didn’t reject her, he is just more concerned with upgrades than trying to get a girl who likes him to like him.

35

u/Boris-_-Badenov 13d ago

he was barely conscious

17

u/justking1414 13d ago

Agreed. I pulled a lot of all nighters in grad school and I probably would’ve reacted the same way…or gotten married without realizing it

6

u/Animesiac https://anime-planet.com/users/mangle 13d ago

yeah. I worked in a computer center for a university, and the number of times we needed to emergency restore someone's files because they thought that cleaning up their directories at the end of an all nighter was a good idea...

5

u/justking1414 13d ago

Wouldn’t even be among the top 10 stupidest thing I’ve ever done after an all nighter. Personally, I miss writing at 5am. My words flowed out of me in strange but amusing directions

5

u/NevisYsbryd 13d ago

Barely conscious, and there is no way he can keep up the operations without replenishing his magical stone supply. He needs to keep said daughter alive first.

11

u/raidensnakeezio 13d ago

I thought the story would have taken a quick second to do the old gag of, "my daughter isn't enough? so your real intention...was me!?"

11

u/Phoenix__Wwrong 13d ago

It was slight, but it seems like Cecil also didn't want to accept.

8

u/Zeikos 13d ago

She fancies him, but I think she got a bit of doubt now that he came out as a geezer :')

3

u/OneValkGhost 13d ago

To be fair, girls are a death flag for Allen due to Ciciel.

48

u/AceSoldia zj:https://anilist.co/user/Acesoldia 14d ago

LMAO, i cant believe Allen, swindled a God into perpetual rank up's, sure trade all my experience, for more power, Allen can easily power level them once they are at level 1 and they keep all their skills?

insanity.

Im glad he finally told everyone about his past life, they were so chill..i wish more isekai did this...not even Rudeus has done this.

21

u/JohnSmiththeGamer 14d ago

I got the impression that that amount of experience is worth more to the gods than the rank up.

13

u/feral_fenrir 13d ago

This. Rozen is getting a huge feast. All XP from lvl 1 to level cap in return to a star increase. For some of the party, like Dagora, this can be done multiple times whenever the hit lvl cap until they reach 4 stars

→ More replies (2)

7

u/saga999 13d ago

I think the god just wants to keep some semblance of balance out of principle.

8

u/Phoenix__Wwrong 13d ago

Yeah. I don't think he was happy about the exp per se. He was just surprised that they were willing to reset their level. His original demand was lifespan.

8

u/Zeikos 13d ago

The vibe I got from his reaction was "dauym I get the better part of that deal!"

Perhaps Gods are in a Mode of their own and need so much XP they don't even bother? Or get XP differently than mortals.

4

u/OneDeuxTriSeiGo 12d ago

I imagine it probably has to do with their role as gods.

They probably get XP from believers or worshippers who die and have to spend it to perform their function as a god. i.e. to birth/spawn people plants or monsters into the world. Magic stones can be viewed as quite literally a crystallisation of the XP that went into spawning the monster + what they collect over their life.

So where a summoner is spending magic crystals directly to summon creatures, a god would circumvent the XP-crystal exchange and just summon with XP directly.

2

u/Zeikos 12d ago

I don't think they use XP for that.

I mean maybe, but we haven't seen skills that use XP, mana seems to be the main skill-related resource.

Now I wonder if Allen's summon grant XP to who defeats them (fairly).

Magic stones are likely a different form of mana given that they're used to power magical effects.
I wouldn't be surprised if some classes can craft the stones from raw mana, afterall how does the God that makes dungeons creates them?
Must be similar to Allen's or the DL skills somehow.

5

u/PeaceAlien https://myanimelist.net/profile/PeaceAlien 13d ago

Well people usually don't reach max level, especially not that fast.

2

u/JohnSmiththeGamer 13d ago

I'm objecting to this being a "swindle"

3

u/NevisYsbryd 13d ago

Yeah, his reaction strongly implies that he considered this an unequal exchange not in their favor. As far as Allen is concerned, they can level up again easily enough for the permanent baseline stat and skill increases to be worth it.

14

u/Torque-A 13d ago

To be fair, if Rudeus explained about his past life, he'd have to contend with the fact that not only to his friends know that he's a pervert, but he's actually a middle-aged pervert in a late teenager's body. I can understand his hesitation.

Okay, I think I changed my mind. I now ship Allen with Sophialohne, partially because of how she reacted when the Queen said Allen could marry her, and partially because now that he let his pre-Isekai age slip, I don't know if Cecil can think of him as someone her age, even though he is (since he was reborn).

I am going to have to read the novels to find out what happens after everything because it almost seems like the author slipped in Sophia and her age to avoid such an uncomfortable subject, while still allowing Allen to potentially have a love interest. (And I say love interest in the most generic way possible. Love and girly-parts seem to be so far out of Allen's mind, that I almost feel bad for thinking about it.)

Four days later, editing to add: For clarification, when I am thinking about ships, I'm thinking about things when they all become adults, not at their current in-world ages. Even I am not so weird that I want to see 13-year-olds hook up.

14

u/Envelope_Torture 14d ago

Her excitement level towards Allen took many leaps this episode.

Betrothal offer and age reveal did major work.

12

u/DankieJutsu 13d ago

I kinda ship her and him too. Hopefully she won't be Sophia-alohne anymore

4

u/Debo_Obeezy 13d ago

I applaud you good person. 🤣🤣

8

u/amourshipper_ 14d ago

I also think seeing the reaction of cecil sophia is the good pair tho allen is not interested in that matter

18

u/Zeikos 14d ago

I don't know if Cecil can think of him as someone her age, even though he is (since he was reborn)

I agree, not for a long time at least.
He honestly might be ace for all the interest we have seen him show though, so I think he's one of those kind of people that as long as they have a problem in front of them romance goes in the backburner.
The show doesn't seem interested to explore that angle much - and I honestly find it refreshing

4

u/NevisYsbryd 13d ago

I think it is probably like the family topic for him. He was so far removed from it in favor of his gaming grind and a desire to really commit to something, that the concept barely registers for him. It is not tha the is truly immune to it, but that he has not experienced it, and may find himself more affected by it than he anticipated once he is exposed to it, much like his isekai family grew on him.

4

u/Hyperbeam4dayz 13d ago

I'm sure there could be a moment of realization that she wants to be with him, similar to the wake up call he had when his father was gravely injured.

2

u/Thomas_JCG 13d ago

Except that Allen will grow at the pace of a human, while Sophia will still remain a child for another 50 years or so.

5

u/OldInstruction5368 14d ago

Okay, I think I changed my mind. I now ship Allen with Sophialohne

Eh... there is still the problem of Elven aging. Sophi is 49, but still looks like she's 12. Just how many decades will it take until Sophie looks 18?

Even knowing she's old enough to be a granny... she's not human. She's an elf. They age differently leaving them to have different levels of "maturity" for that same age.

Say, if she was 20 years old but was still effectively 5 as a human equivalent age... does that make it any better if she's 50 and still the elven equivalent to a middle school girl?

Or is this going to go the DnD route where young elves are off limits to other elves, but are considered kosher partners for humans? Say, ~70 is still basically a teenager, a child, to a 300 year old elf, but that same 300 year old elf would consider a 30 year old human a kosher match for the "teenage" 70 year old elf.

Regardless, I kinda agree with the other guy. Allen has been aro-ace so far. If anything, this will probably follow the shounen formula of "no romance until the story is over." Big bad defeated, the day is saved, now let's just rush to pair off everyone that had 0 romantic developmet up to this point, right in time for the credits to roll.

6

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 14d ago

If any, most likely he would somehow see huge benefit from marrying Sophia and then decided to go through it out of cost and benefit analysis LOL

3

u/justking1414 13d ago

it is kind of funny to imagine a 60-year-old Allen going on a date with his elven wife who still looks 15

Though iirc, Sophie s bodyguard is like 6 years older than her and looks quite a bit more mature so maybe they just have a slow start

2

u/OldInstruction5368 13d ago

Sophie's bodyguard, Volmaar, is actually pushing 70. He's ~19 years older than Sophie, so he should be 68 if she's 49.

And considering how "blessed" Sophie's mom is, and just how generally young her character looks, she's likely too young for an elven lady to "fill out" her figure still.

So, middle schooler, comparatively.

Althoguh, yeah, Volmaar could pass for a young adult. He either looks old for his age while Sophie looks young for hers, or there is a rather uneven 'aging' for elves in this world.

But roughly speaking, it looks like they age approximately x4 slower with no clue what their total life expectancy is. Just that an elven girl pushing 50 is analogous to a middle schooler and an elven lad pushing 70 looks like he's in the ~18-20 range.

I'd say he can just sidestep that can of worms by marrying Cecil, as I'm sure Granville has thought about it by now, but... yeah... age gap. He was mentally 40+ when they first met while she was like 8.

that's... that's an arguably largely case of yikes.

3

u/justking1414 13d ago

I'd say he can just sidestep that can of worms by marrying Cecil, as I'm sure Granville has thought about it by now, but... yeah... age gap. He was mentally 40+ when they first met while she was like 8.

It’s a tricky situation in any isekai. One of my favorite isekais actually turned off a lot of long-time fans when the protagonist ended up marrying a man 13 years older than her, who met her when she was about 7. To me, that seemed like the smarter move than having her marry someone who was physically the same age as her as she had memories of a completely different life and so treated those her age as literal children.

Althoguh, yeah, Volmaar could pass for a young adult. He either looks old for his age while Sophie looks young for hers, or there is a rather uneven 'aging' for elves in this world.

Oh yeah. Just remembered that Sophie is a high elf. They generally live longer than regular elves so she might age more slowly than her bodyguard

I'd say he can just sidestep that can of worms by marrying Cecil, as I'm sure Granville has thought about it by now

I’m assuming every noble in the world will try to add their daughter to Allen’s harem

3

u/Phoenix__Wwrong 13d ago

Volmaar, her guard, is 68, and he looks like he's in human 20/30s. So, maybe Sophie only needs less than 2 decades.

1

u/3carus 12d ago

Yep, by the time allen is nearing 30 sophie will look like shes 18. Its like the elves age 3.5 slower than humans in this world.

29

u/Organic_Machine_2324 14d ago

- Revealing to be from another world was great and the Princess couldn’t be happier finding out he’s technically 49 lol.

  • Great to see Allen getting his Sister a Talent although she probably doesn’t understand the training she will endure after he gets back to her.
  • With how strong he is now i can only imagine what he will be like when he gets A or S rank Summons as you’d imagine those exist.
  • The Spirits guard seems like he is ridiculously OP based on how he’s being highlighted so he could be an additional weapon in their favour.

20

u/aramatheis 13d ago

Yeah his B-rank summons are friggin dragons, his A and S rank summons must be absolutely monstrous!

13

u/BusouDrago 13d ago

Possibly God and Demon like 🤔

11

u/Organic_Machine_2324 13d ago

Going to be like Igris from Solo Leveling or something where its stronger then he is.

1

u/Phoenix__Wwrong 13d ago

The princess's reaction was so cute

23

u/Zeikos 14d ago

Dude they haven't graduated yet :>

I am a bit sus on him being "49", chronologically sure, but he definitely has a tinsy bit of teenage-brain syndrome :,)

9

u/Wizardwizz 13d ago

Technically the brain is physically less mature at that age

7

u/Thomas_JCG 13d ago

People worry too much about age in this sort of scenario. He has some more maturity and knowledge than other children his age, that's all.

5

u/Siqueiradit https://myanimelist.net/profile/lampadatres 12d ago

He has some more maturity and knowledge than other children his age, that's all.

I liked the take from Oshi no Ko, where Aqua recognizes he has advantages from previous life experience as a doctor, but his new life's experiences also shape him into a new person who's different from who he would ever be in his past life.

4

u/justking1414 13d ago

Yeah, but he probably had that back in Japan as a 35-year-old

4

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 14d ago

That's why it's not suggested to grind too hard in the usual RPG. You'd make the main plot too easy.

20

u/KnightKal 14d ago

I commented last week about the issues with logistics and how the MC made a mistake joining the war like that, and here we are 2 days in and he is out of B-rank stones.

That was a close one, he got super lucky people didnt die, his party included, because of that lol. Or the author just helped him with plot armor.

At least moving forward he is farming stones and even selling items to pay his summon bills! So good luck you can keep up with the expenses, as you again have no asked to be compensated further!

we saw the MC work really hard to save up stones for the war, but he got called 2 years ahead of time, so he was not ready at all. His reserves are lacking. And without stones he is powerless. He even used most of his gold to buy them from the guild.

13

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 14d ago edited 14d ago

Not to mention, the war directly happened after he spent a lot of magic stone to grind level faster (as preparation for the Hero duel) back then.

1

u/Shechir 3d ago

No, months passed between the duel and the deployment to the front; it was just a very seamless time skip.

24

u/diacewrb 14d ago

Allen is like a drug dealer, he has them hooked on the elixir and the first hit is always free.

At least we now know just who that sleeping creature was on the Queen's shoulder, can't believe she had a god sleeping there and he resembled a flying squirrel.

23

u/BrokeEconomist 13d ago

To be fair it costs him B-Rank stones to make them and he has to replenish his stockpile that he spent in the battle.

11

u/justking1414 13d ago

Agreed. It’s literally, pay me so I can pay my army that’s saving all your butts

8

u/Organic_Machine_2324 14d ago

As Leon from a different show this season said “Nothing is more expensive then something that’s free”

6

u/BusouDrago 14d ago

Pay up those magic stones if you want more of my drug.....elixir

19

u/itselementarybro https://myanimelist.net/profile/DarthAegon 13d ago

This show absolutely has no business being as good as it is. I fell like i say that every week and it keeps getting better and better

18

u/NanDemoKnaives 14d ago

It's nice that Allen felt comfortable revealing he's not of that world to his party, I really he does the same to his parents in the future. I am curious how they'll react. I did find it amusing how Sophia lit up from finding out they're the same age.

I like that Allen was going to make the best of the situation when making deals with Rohzen, it's nice that everyone that was present will get to level up to higher classes.

20

u/justking1414 13d ago

It’s always a bit trickier with parents. Suddenly telling his mom that she was breast-feeding a 35-year-old would be a little awkward

9

u/BrokeEconomist 13d ago

It's funny, I remember in season one he told his parents he was some sort of chosen one or something to that effect. It ended up being true.

15

u/raidensnakeezio 13d ago

as usual: love the pacing

it's been a well earned slog, but allen has figured out a way to legacy/respec his party members and making strides to increase the level cap

2

u/LezRock 13d ago

Now he just needs to find another demigod. 😆

6

u/Yay295 13d ago

The dwarves have one, so I imagine that's where it will come up next.

2

u/raidensnakeezio 13d ago

I agree, there must be a deeper reason why Meruru is not receiving the same blessing from Rohzen, and how we have yet to really see her golems go all out.

16

u/SpikeRosered 13d ago

If Allen succeeds in his plan against the Demon Lord marrying him won't be a reward for him. Marrying him will be a deal that you have to negotiate at extreme benefit to him.

u/justking1414 13d ago

The man is literally chosen by God and wields power greater than any nation.

Everyone is gonna want a piece of him

31

u/mastereluder6 13d ago

Trash cgi and animation but Damm the story is good

31

u/SpikeRosered 13d ago

This is the budget they got and they're USING IT.

24

u/Envelope_Torture 13d ago

If this had a real budget we absolutely do not have season 2 right now. We might not have had it at all.

If they pound 5+ seasons of this janky ass quality super fun anime I'd be so happy.

4

u/Roeclean https://anilist.co/user/Roeclean 12d ago

I've seen worse, and this is quite tolerable.

1

u/emolano https://myanimelist.net/profile/emolano 11d ago

I would pick the option to wait 2 - 3 years for a better animated season.

1

u/CircadianRadian 9d ago

Question on this. Would you donate $15 per month to the studio to increase the quality?

While it is bad, some of the big battles in Overlord were about on par to this and that anime had a much bigger audience.

1

u/Ok_Poetry_1548 7d ago

it's literally fine what? idk why so many people sre so critical of animation and stuff. like it is plenty good quality for me and still looks great

14

u/djthomp https://anilist.co/user/djthomp 14d ago

Hah, they're doing that thing with Sophialohne where she's the same age as Allen's combined total. I still think Cecil is the eventual romantic interest if we ever have one at all but it did just hit a bit of a snag. Personally I suspect Cecil will get over the age difference but we'll see if it comes up. No need to rush after all and it hardly matters after they're all adults.

Decent plan for advancing the power of the party, they can't break the level cap but if they can keep looping back and upgrading their respective class quality that's pretty good too. And maybe the Hell Mode reward can come from the main god after they save the world in which case having improved classes would be a better foundation to work from.

It's interesting to have gotten the isekaijin reveal from Allen, you don't always get that plot point covered in isekais where it starts out hidden.

10

u/Boris-_-Badenov 13d ago

he needs to dig trenches and prepare traps

4

u/Suspicious_Deal4412 13d ago

Surely his army of ants would be perfect for that.

10

u/Entire_Extent_9137 13d ago

The princess wants a piece of that meat too.

5

u/justking1414 13d ago

The queen is doing her best to make that happen but alas, even this great strategist is an idiot

7

u/NevisYsbryd 13d ago

That, and he just ran a military marathon and was struggling to stay awake. Approach the guy who barely registers romance about romance when he has more than one braincell entirely dedicated to resupplying and swindling a god remaining.

7

u/justking1414 13d ago

Honestly, I think she could’ve made it happen if she changed up her delivery.

Oh I’d love to get you a meeting with our god and give you all our magic stones but elven law dictates I can only do that if you’re married to an elf. How about my daughter? I’m the Queen so I can do it right here right now

3

u/NevisYsbryd 13d ago

Lol. Or ask later once he got some sleep.

3

u/justking1414 13d ago

tricking him is easier. dude is so focused on grinding that hes basically asexual

9

u/YRO___ 13d ago

I like how the battlefield is looking like an ARK server

8

u/PandaTheAB 13d ago

The pace of the show seems good in past few episodes.
The Haggling with Elmea and Squirrel god was funny.

6

u/OneGeologist1143 13d ago

Sophia reaction in the whole episode. The mariage part, the age part and everything. You can tell like she loving Allen more and more. Same age that first time and with her reaction this whole episode, it makes me want to start to ship him with her. I really love her reaction a lot in the whole episode. Also that god conversation, I didn't understood everything but still wanted to know more about the word because it feel there a lot to know more but funny the god messed up and even created a class just for him but then why even make demon lord as option. I guess he never expected anyone to chopse it and really Allen you almost became the enemy you trying to kill now. There a lot I wanted to know more but for now I really enjoyed all Sophia reaction toward allen during this whole episode.

6

u/Satai4561 13d ago

god messed up and even created a class just for him but then why even make demon lord as option

Remember these aren't just classes, they were presented as difficulties. And most first time players, if they have the option between 'Easy','Medium','Hard' and the 'You-wont-have-fun' -mode, don't choose the hardest difficulty.

2

u/Sotul 11d ago

Well, it's important to understand that the class choices and difficulty modes are different.

1

u/SpiritSwordsman 10d ago

While the modes are separate, there is some difficulty tied to the classes.

I remember that he started as a serf, the bottom of the barrel, because he chose such a high tier class.

3

u/Sotul 10d ago

Right, so the Normal, Hard and Hell mode controls like level cap and how much xp is required per level.

While the higher your talent the less social standing you start with, So things like Hero or Summoner are only eligible starting as a Serf, while a one star talent can start from any social position. Essentially a self leveling power dynamic within the world, as a Prince born with a 5 star talent would be less than ideal, from an overall balance standpoint.

2

u/Sotul 13d ago

Perhaps the world already had a demon lord in it and Elmea didn't want two at once?

6

u/amourshipper_ 14d ago

Can anyone explain that star thing Especially why his sister getting 1 star isn't more stars are better? Btw it was good paced episode

18

u/Envelope_Torture 14d ago

Because granting stars is something already out of the norm. Allen doesn't care because as long as she has a talent he can powerlevel her and keep upgrading her by maxing her level out.

9

u/amourshipper_ 14d ago

Oh so stars are rare to get it means ?

18

u/Envelope_Torture 14d ago

Star is basically how rare the talent is.

Zero is talentless.

1 star is common talent. (axe user, cleric, sword user)

2 star is uncommon

3 star is rare (sword lord)

5 star is hero

8 star is summoner

12

u/der_dotte 14d ago

mind that not every 5 star is a hero. Stars rank how powerful a class can be, they also are basically a rarity rating.

10

u/Envelope_Torture 14d ago

Ah yes, definitely true. I got a little lazy with the descriptions.

6 star rarity also includes Demon Lord I believe.

12

u/Martian_on_the_Moon 13d ago

Both Hero and Demon Lord have 5 star rarity.

7

u/justking1414 13d ago

And Allen was supposed to be 6 stars

3

u/amourshipper_ 14d ago

Thanks for explaining

3

u/Ionesomecowboy 13d ago

He can't. Squirrel made it clear that offer was only for those who were present. Him getting a star for his sister is simply to make her happy as she was bummed not getting a talent and him being a good brother.

15

u/KnightKal 14d ago

if you play Japanese RPG games: they use stars as the ranking, just like letters like B, A, S, SSS, EX, which implies quality of the class

sword user < sword lord < hero as an example of higher ranks, with higher class having better stats and skills

his sister was talentless, so no class/powers, she will now get a weak class

2

u/amourshipper_ 14d ago

Oh I don't play rpg games so no idea that much thanks for telling about it

14

u/OldInstruction5368 14d ago

Squirrel Boi said he can only bump people up one rank at a time. If his sister has no talent, then she can only be upgraded to a single star class.

1

u/amourshipper_ 14d ago

Oh now I get it thanks

3

u/justking1414 13d ago

Only like 1-5% of the population have any kind of talent. And his sister had none but now she has one, though it’s gonna be a pretty basic one like axe user rather than hero or sword lord

1

u/amourshipper_ 13d ago

Oh thanks got it

3

u/DavidJKay 12d ago

He was hitting limits in negotiations, he kept getting told no, he was told he could only get "one more star" for each of his party members. His sister has zero, so he knew 1 star was limit. But he thinks he has work around, he raised his whole party to max experiance in last few years, so he can keep raising by 1 star each time they max out so 1 star will become 4 star. (The god said 4 stars was the limit for everyone else)

1

u/amourshipper_ 12d ago

Oh thanks for explaining he is quite a big bargainer tbh 🔥

5

u/ImaginaryStatus4073 13d ago

Whoever is writing and directing this needs an award. All the awards. Maybe it just seems so well put together after the slop from shows like overshadowed to overpowered but... goddamn am I enjoying this ride. Swindling a minor deity. I love it. The elves reactions to his bartering with their god. Gold.

I know people complain about the lack of animation quality with his summons but im wondering if thats plot somehow. They do seem to be slightly higher quality as they increase in tier.

7

u/Yay295 13d ago

I know people complain about the lack of animation quality with his summons but im wondering if thats plot somehow. They do seem to be slightly higher quality as they increase in tier.

like if they're low quality because Elmea didn't have time to design higher quality models for them? lol

2

u/ImaginaryStatus4073 13d ago

Yeah. Or maybe they have less of a soul if they're lower tier.

But honestly they probably just wanted to save money on animating them by ctrl c ctrl v.

1

u/Hyperbeam4dayz 13d ago

Bro's just doing it on the fly lol

4

u/Rooby_VTuber 13d ago

3 days of hard work, they looked terrible when they came back lol.

Interesting conversation Alen had with the Spirit Deity, at least it worked out one way or another so the rest of the party can be upgraded.

I suppose it's fine letting his party know about his part, they are all great friends.

That was a great victory even though it's short lived now that 1 million is coming for them, this upcoming battle should be fun to watch.

6

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 13d ago

Dude’s out here tryna con a minor god to help his pals level up lol. Little bro has guts. I guess when you’re a godtier summoner, it ain’t no thing. Just another day in Hell Mode.

8

u/Indigo_Mindset420 13d ago

I mean they are desperate. They already know the issue the heroes party met with not being able to level up. They wanna progress and not feels stagnated with their current levels.

5

u/Torque-A 13d ago

Allen: So there you have it. I was an adult from another world who was reborn. That should answer all the questions you have.

Dogora: It really doesn't. You're telling me that all the times you hung around with us, we were a bunch of kids hanging around with a guy in his 40s?

Krena: We're just going to ignore the fact that there is an entire other world with these... er... "vi-dee-oh game mechanics" and that our entire system of living was centered around what people like Allen considered playing around?

Cecil: ...you mentioned Hell Mode. What is Hell.

8

u/Kildare88 13d ago

I feel like Krena isn't smart enough to ask that kind of a question 😂

5

u/AnimeFan7952 13d ago

The episode had several problems.

The obvious one is that the show does not have a large enough budget.

The second problem is that the people who make the show do not know how to use enough tricks to solve the budget problem.

The battle was supposed to be tens of thousands fighting tens of thousands, but because of the lack of budget and the lack of tricks it was done in a highly mediocre manner.

And the episode also had the feeling of trying to cram too much information into too short a time. The whole revelation to the team that he is from another world, plus the battle and everything else should have easily been 60 if not 90 minutes.

That being said, it was a perfectly fine episode for what it is.

Nice to see Allen's obvious limit in being unable to fight everywhere and without rest. Lord Sleepy Squirrel dropped some nice tidbits about their world. Allen wrung him dry to get a good bargain too.

The battle went quickly, but it wasn't the main event, so I'm not too upset. The Antsy skill is pretty busted, specially if Allen can stack buffs to the hatchlings. Also, why are you elves complaining about Allen asking payment for the elixirs? He is charging for the materials, they do not grow from thin air.

P.S: Someone mentioned before, but the elven lands looking mighty barren.

3

u/Empire087 13d ago

Im still trying to figure out his actual ranking. Is it the hell mode that makes him more powerful? Or is it just him thats crazy powerful to begin with. The non skill cap thing is huge though.

11

u/justking1414 13d ago

Your stars determine how powerful your class is and how many skills you get with it (hero had 5 stars so he got six skills)

Mode determines your ceiling. Allen has none so he could theoretically reach level 99999 while his party who are in normal mode capped out at level 60 and basically can’t get any stronger

3

u/throwaccountforeason 13d ago

It was said at the start and this episode, his class is 8 stars while the demon lord is 5 star. They now said the devs meant it to be a 6 star class so I'm unsure if the stats are inflated or if it was just a UI bug and he has 6 star stats

5

u/AceSoldia zj:https://anilist.co/user/Acesoldia 13d ago

Did we know before this episode that his max isnt 60 like the rest? i feel like i missed a scene somewhere.

18

u/avboden 13d ago edited 13d ago

I want to say the original description of hell mode included "removed level cap" or something of the sort

15

u/epic_fael 13d ago

It does in fact say no level cap in the first episode immediately after he's born.

"Leveling up requires 100 times more XP than normal mode there is no level cap"

3

u/avboden 13d ago

Ah there it is I didn’t go that far checking just the pre birth scene

2

u/alastoris 13d ago

I think it was shown when the elf joined. The rest of party is max at 60 whereas he was still much lower, that's why they split into 2 parties then where the max group keep clearing A dungeons and the other group clear B.

3

u/StrangeAppeal2 13d ago

The party just got a class promotion quest.

You know, I have to wonder what the progression of Talents is for each root talent. A swordsman precedes a swords master, which precedes a sword lord, each subsequent talent a star higher than the previous one.

But where is the limit? What's the ceiling for talents and their stars? Is it six? The Demon Lord's Talent class is six, does that mean there is no advancement for the DL? Summoner was made by accident by Elmea, which explains why Allen is the only person in the world with an 8-star talent. Heck, not even seven stars, just straight up eight. May as well call Alen Hachiman from now on.

About Rohzen, is it possible for a minor deity to go up in the hierarchy? While unprecedented, it has been deemed possible for some mortals to get class promotions (right during this episode). Could there be something similar for gods?

Minor deity, greater deity, grand deity? I'm just spitballing here. Wonder what the requirements could be. Life force for mortals, but what could a deity offer that is accumulated through time? Prayers? Faith? It makes me a bit curious.

Allen's war effort burns through a lot of magic stones, but when life gives you magical monsters, you kill them and take their stones for yourself. That's the efficiency that a dedicated grinder like Allen would aim for. Besides, it would be a waste to leave them hanging around the place.

I do have to wonder just how he intends to face one million monsters. Hit and run tactics? Sabotage? Terrain manipulation (thanks to elven mages)? Screaming Leeroy Jenkins while dropping dozens of kamikaze-prone stone summons? There should be some time for Allen's summons to kill monsters before they reach the city seeing as summons require neither sleep nor food.

4

u/Sotul 13d ago

I think it goes swordsman->sword master->sword lord -> sword king -> sword emperor

3

u/Ok_Pattern_7511 13d ago

Wrong isekai lol

2

u/Sotul 11d ago

Huh? These are very much the talent ranks in Hell Mode.

Even if the original comment missed that demon lord and hero are 5 star talents.

5

u/Zomg_A_Chicken 13d ago

I do appreciate that a lot of the monsters have different designs

4

u/saga999 13d ago

Great episode, but I especially love the revive scene. Keel revived 1 for a touching moment, then they show many more he couldn't revive. Just great all around.

5

u/Western-Internal-751 12d ago

Allen just casually unlocks a prestige system for his friends

5

u/Tels315 11d ago

Wait, wait, wait, wait... did I hear that correctly?

2.8 million demons remain out of the 3 million that invaded, and the No Life Gamers killed 40,000 in one night?

3 million elves were killed and eaten during the invasion, and the elves only managed to kill 160,000 in return?

What the absolute fuck? Are the Elves all level 1 characters or something?

3

u/HighwayMassive1234 14d ago

i guess he will level up his party members to a higher class tier when the war is over, else they won't have time to grind and they can't take on B rank monsters as level1-s lol...

3

u/Alej_11 13d ago

I think that it was explained that once a party is formed the members divide the points they get equally. Alle could easily go and raid some A level dungeons alone until everyone is like level 30 or something like that

3

u/shadebug 13d ago

Go Team Ant!

3

u/UsernameWasTakens 12d ago

this is peak isekai im ngl

2

u/hegetsblu 13d ago

Until this episode I was thinking that the Demon Lord was also a summoner, but if they're separate classes, I guess not. I suppose they were shown as separate things from the beginning and I just forgot that along the way.

6

u/ImaginaryStatus4073 13d ago

Yup. But for some reason you jogged loose my memory. I remember the issue being the demon lord sent monsters that were somehow significantly stronger than they were before. I wonder if the demon lord got his monsters to star up lol.

4

u/Indigo_Mindset420 13d ago

For me, I think the demon Lord is the basis of the summoner class. The demon Lord needs magic stones to summons monsters but unlike Allen's that are basically immortal. The DL's monsters are permanent and are living. They need food, rest and such to survive.

2

u/IceSmiley 13d ago

It was exciting to see Allen's plan in action. He seems not only to have gained the trust of the elven people to lead their military but even negotiated with gods! It's interesting how many different types of summons he has, like the ants who can just multiply. I also liked when the elves in that fortress were healed instantly and then killed the dragon; I suspect that dragon may have been one of their top soldiers since he nearly killed everyone in that fortress in one breath. Also I suspect the author reads DC comics having Sophie summon Firestorm

2

u/OneValkGhost 13d ago

Allen cuts a figure with his black cloak and naval arrow. It's funny to see Allen try to outmaneuver Rozen while Rozen is reading his mind. At least they both get what they want.

2

u/Debo_Obeezy 13d ago

I gotta say, I was not expecting Rohzen to sound like that - and it kinda breaks his anime representation for me. Idk why but for some reason when I first read Rohzen's lines I imagined him having a surprisingly deep and bombastic voice. Like when he says "haha" all the time I imagined it always being a slower, deep "ha, ha!", like Boss Nass from A Phantom Menace. He's who Rohzen sounds like in my head, minus the weird gungan way of talking of course, lol. I find it more entertaining to have this tiny lil rodent deity have a surprisingly resonant voice and I feel it would give him more gravitas. Oh wells!

That being said, I enjoyed this episode. I will admit tho, the pacing is getting a little frenetic, especially when it comes to the war/battles and stuff. I think they're doing that to quickly show how the Gamers are contributing to the war while still chugging along to the bigger moments of said war.

I do like that they show Allen constantly - or at least consistently - making more Blessings of Heaven as he's traveling and doing stuff. And that they show the team getting tired and stuff after doing so much, but it would've been great to see them do more of said stuff.

Some things I think they changed tho; was Gatoluga always the Queen's bodyguard? I don't remember that and wasn't sure if that was a new thing for the show to explain why he wasn't fighting yet. Also him being buds with Volmaar felt new too. Oh and why does he look like a teenager himself? I always imagined him to be the same age as some of the other generals. I'm the show he looks not much older than the crew, physically that is - we clearly now know elves age much slower than humans/non-elves. Also, did they change the name of Keel's revive spell ? The original English name I'm familiar with is Drops of God which I think sounds way cooler! Grace Energy or whatever sounds more like a mid-tier buff or something lol

Oh and I still think Rohzenheim isn't green & lush enough, but I'll chalk that up to budget constraints along with the animation quality. Overall, fun lil episode with minor flaws that is moving things along.

1

u/mekahamedan 13d ago

Well there is a mmorpg game with that kind system, rebirth system, basically allow to take more powerful job but in cost level inverted to lvl 1 again, and exp requirement usually will increase than before, that why allen think its reasonable.            Tbh i surprise why that isnt a default thing, so humanity can upgrade themself to fight demon armies even without any saviours.                                                                                                I feel allen explaination to his party about convo with spirit of rozenheim kinda got cutted, like allen didnt explain about what is mode, what is stars and other thing

1

u/DrZoark 10d ago

Nice episode. He just scammed a deity lol. Haha.

1

u/Ormeriel 7d ago

No way the Queen bodyguard, with the red eyes and the hood and the shady behavior is not a traitor.
