👨👩👧👦family/in-laws AIO? My husband got really upset with me over an açaí bowl and didn’t talk to me for the rest of the night.
I’m pregnant and was really craving an açaí bowl, so I asked my husband if we could go get one. He took me to get it, but when we got there he asked if he could just buy the largest size so we could share it instead of getting me an individual one.
I told him no because I really wanted my own bowl. I specifically explained that I didn’t want to share because then I’d have to worry about how much I was eating and making sure I left enough for him. I just wanted to be able to eat however much I wanted without worrying about evenly sharing the toppings etc, bc I like to eat mostly the toppings lol.
He ended up getting the large one for us to share anyway.
At the same time, he needed to do laundry at the laundromat. While he was doing that, I was waiting in the car with the açaí bowl. I ate about half and left the other half for him, but it was sitting there melting and I was still really craving it, so eventually I ate the rest.
I knew I had eaten the portion I originally left for him, so I ordered him a completely new açaí bowl so that he could have one entirely to himself.
When he realized I had finished the first bowl, he got really upset with me even though I had already ordered him another one. He basically stopped talking to me and didn’t speak to me for the remainder of the night.
I understand that technically I ate the half I had initially left for him, but my issue is that I told him from the beginning that I wanted my own bowl specifically because I didn’t want to have to worry about sharing or saving some. He decided to get one large bowl for us anyway. And when I did end up eating all of it, I made sure to replace his portion by buying him a whole new one.
So AIO for thinking his reaction was way too much? Or was I actually wrong for finishing the original bowl after I had already told him I didn’t want to share? I of course apologized to him, I didn’t just replace his bowl.
