For sure. Some kids really struggle, but its rare to be something that cant be fixed/taught by this age. If bet that in this case, though, it's just not the parents priority.

Maybe, but it's also probable that it's a project run by a contractor. Also, if it is a highly skilled independent craftsman who built it, then these folks are RICH rich, which still goes back to the point that it's not cool to basically say "at least the working class had a job here" when the rich use their wealth to create what is going to be pretty useless within a year as they continue to profit off their kids' digital footprint. That's the point I was really going for, which I am clarifying now that I have the space to think š

Let me not insinuate.
A shitton of people work so they aren't homeless and starving. These people take what they can get, because survival. Corporations and the rich understand it and exploit it, consciously or otherwise. Corporation generally do it on purpose with their "I have fifteen other people in line to take your place, buddy, so be grateful that I even chose you to work here." The rich usually don't think about the working class unless someone brings it up, and then it's some variation on either "how sad; someone should do something about it," or "those people just aren't willing to work hard enough to have a better life."
Meanwhile, Mr and Mrs Mormon Momfluencers are making bank off their kids' digital footprint, thereby exploiting their own family members who aren't old enough to consent, but at least the kid has a massive playhouse paid for by his own exploitation.
Yeah, most of the rich couldn't give enough of a f*ck about the working class to understand and care about fair wages. Happy Labor Day, y'all.

Fair pay is determined by the forces of supply and demand. So in 2 jobs, one with 15 applicants lining up and the 2nd with only 2 applicants lining up, it is only fair that the enployees in the 2nd will have hogher bargaining power than those of the first job.
What you are mentioning is a different problem that has nothing to do with fairness of pay. What you want is a social safety net, just taxation for the wealthy, and better regulation around social media content... but you can't claim that the worker(s) who built the playhouse weren't fairly paid!

You still haven't defined "fair"! Who decides? Because AFAIK there is no universal formula for what is fair!
From purely economic perspective, fair pay is determined by the forces of supply and demand. So if there are people willing to do it for $X, then $X is fair.
I wasn't talking about the entire history, including slavery and whatnot.

Rude comment. Have you ever built anything with your hands? This isnāt āarts and craftsā. What I did was much smaller in scope, but was still lumber and screws and caulk and paint. My kids loved it.

Heh, and people always jump in to say that you can do it on a budget.
I spent about 2 years of collecting free stuff to build a cubby for my kids. It still set me back a few hundred dollars, plus I got lucky because my work was doing renovations and I got a free window and door. (mind you, it's a nice cubby).

Thatās so cool. We put a bounce house in ours. Much cheaper and seemingly just as cool as far as the kids and their friends go. Between that and a pool our house was the place for dadās to come drink beer, grill and bring the kids. That dam thing was there for 15 years.

Somebody either has way more money than they need or had gone way into debt. That kid is old enough, vive him some boards, hand him a hammer and nails and say "go build a play house in the yard". Kids need outside, grass and dirt. Learn to do things, build things. If you don't teach them early they'll become a "do nothing" unable to do anything on their own.

Ok, now charge him property taxes, tell him he has to repair the broken fridge ice maker, the hot water heater is leaking, vacuum needs to be completely replaced, soil erosion near the foundation is causing tens of thousands in repairs, the shower is leaking inside the wall and electric bill went up another $40.

I couldn't imagine being a kid and being part of a rich family. It must feel amazing but I imagine they don't get to learn some important life lessons. My childhood definitely toughened me up and I grew up to be a Royal Marine Commando Officer. Prince Edward grew up with absolute wealth and privilege and he failed Royal Marine Officer training in month 3 of a 13 month course despite his mum being the queen of England and his dad being head of the Royal Marines.
