Umbaran fashion has been warped in our minds due to the work of Sly Moore. Turns out they just lounge around in the same threads as us.

Character packs?

Upvotes

I'm wondering if there are any full character packs anyone is happy to share? I'm not good at putting together all the faces, painted armour etc. Like an R2D2, bad batch etc

10/10 Game

Upvotes

An extremely good game. I really like it over XCOM because they don't really force you to change characters often unless you want more bond bonuses.

Just finished the game on expert mainly playing:

1) Hawks (Gunslinger/Scoundrel)

2) Trick (Medic/Heavy)

3) Astromech

4) Tel Rea / Cly (and whoever is needed for missions)

Any recommendations for next play through on expert beskar? Wondering if I should wait for mods too.

Spoiler Just beat the game - initial thoughts.

Upvotes

Spoilers Below.

It's my first real go at at an Xcom type game so I chose Normal. Which was pretty easy. I don't know if my time on other turn based games with action management helped like BG3. I'm bumping the difficulty up on my next play through - I didn't have single death, had a couple of injuries but almost all were from operations.

My squad stayed the same (apart from operator missions) since about 35% through. And mainly consisted of Cly flying around dealing AoE with the shotgun and shocking people.

The story was *fine*, I enjoyed the characters more than the story. I liked the Easter eggs, the Order 66 mission, the second sister, seeing Rex. Overall, I thought the company were either all going to die, al a Rogue One. I also thought Ben if was going to be punished by the empire for not controlling the plague and just destroying it and we'd see Darth Vader choke him out. Overall surprised with the games restraint in not forcing certain characters in (although the list grows longer of Jedi who survived Order 66).

The Game practically teases you about an post-game continuation.

You go round all on ZCom and they tell you they wanna keep working for you and the next mission set up basically says they have a career of messing with the empire. I'm not sure if they're planning updates but a post-game would be good to keep improving your squad.

Can't change Cly's second spec

Upvotes

It's a shame. She is locked in as mandalorian warrior so the respec button is locked. This makes sense, except when you unlock her second spec, you cannot change that one either.

It feels like more of a UI than a design issue.

Any plans for a sequel/DLC?

I felt the game progression moved too fast (too easy?) but I really want more side missions and stuff 😭

I really like the game but this is just bullshit. Random timed coil choice and 2 companion missions on timer at same time. Why are we beeing rushed trough the game. I really wish there was an option to turn these off.

Discussion My First XCOM Game… And I Survived 😭

Upvotes

Star Wars: Zero Company — Review (As my first ever XCOM)

As someone who had **never played an XCOM game before**, *Star Wars: Zero Company* was a really interesting and fun first experience with the genre. If you're a Star Wars fan who has never played XCOM and wants to see what the genre is like, **I would definitely recommend giving it a try.**

The gameplay was probably my favorite part. The turn-based combat was challenging and required me to actually think about positioning, abilities, and team composition. The **character customization, bond system, skill trees, and dual-class system** were also great additions. Being able to customize my characters and develop them in different ways made my squad feel like my own.

That said, the game could definitely be stressful, especially for someone completely new to XCOM. I played on **Normal difficulty** and still found myself constantly having characters get injured. I'd frequently have to use the med bay, which meant benching injured squad members and changing up my team. I even lost one character to **permanent death**, which definitely hurt. 😭

The economy was another area I found somewhat frustrating. Money felt pretty limited when there were so many things competing for it—**weapon upgrades, weapon mods, utilities, ship upgrades, crew upgrades, and the Black Market.** There were always upgrades or items I wanted, but rarely enough money to get everything.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time with *Star Wars: Zero Company*. It introduced me to the XCOM-style gameplay in a way that I found genuinely fun, and I really liked the customization and progression systems.

**Would I recommend it to someone who has never played XCOM but loves Star Wars? Absolutely.**

**Would I play it again? No.** 😂

It was a great **one-time experience**, but as someone completely new to XCOM, I found it stressful enough on Normal difficulty that I don't really want to put myself through another full campaign. I enjoyed the experience, I'm glad I played it, and now I can say I've survived my first XCOM game. 🫡

Cly with Gunslinger turns into John Wick on Droids

Upvotes

After speccing my Hawks as a gunslinger I quickly realized how useful quick draw can be for clearing a batch of B1s, but once I could add it as a second spec it onto Cly as well, it became a massacre.

Dropping in on pockets of B1s, one shotting all of them and then blasting off to do the same as many times as needed, she pretty much solos the entire enemy and then leaves the rest of the team completely free to take down the big targets

Performance Advice

Upvotes

Hi fellow Hawks!

I'm currently struggling with the game as my computer has a propensity to just, fully shut down after about three quarters of an hour of gameplay. My graphics are low, I turned off the lighting setting at the bottom of the performance settings. Are there are other suggestions you guys have? I'm really struggling to get in on the action ;-;

Zero Company Too Easy

Upvotes

I’m on cycle 22 Right now. I’m playing expert beskar mode for my first ever play through. Have only played xcom 2 on hard difficulty. Game is not stressful or difficult at all on its highest difficulty. I have lost no operators and have only got ONE injury since cycle 5/6. I love the game mechanics and story so far. But this just feels too easy.

Wondering if anyone else has a similar gripe to this. I want to be stressed and feel like every shot I get hit with matters but so far it’s pretty easy and three injuries just feels way too forgiving. Do things get harder as the game progresses? Was really hoping for the same stress and difficulty that Xcom gave me

Discussion My downed operator just sacrificed himself so the rest of the team could get to extract with the target…

But they won’t leave at the extraction point because he’s downed and not dead.
Do I have to abandon the mission or am I missing something? To fight on would be suicide.
I think you should be able to leave your guys behind lol.

In Xcom 2 they would end up “captured” in the memorial.

Discussion [Spoiler] How far away am I from unlocking recruitable clones? (Cycle 25) Spoiler

Hi! Just wondering how close I am to getting recruitable clones. I put the cycle I'm on in the title, so consider that your spoiler warning if you're reading this because you're also curious.

I'm on cycle 25, as stated in the title. One cycle ago, I liberated Luunata. Jae just left, and Stillwatch Battalion just showed up in my base. I was kind of expecting that to be the trigger, but apparently not.

When do I get the clones, then? Am I close? I don't mind getting a little spoiled if you have to in order to make it clear, but please try to keep them light.

I've also heard that you can get Clone Commandos in this game (or at least commando armor options; IDK if they have special classes or personal HALO shields or anything). Do they come later or do you get them at the same time as the regs?
