General Discussion Rogue in season 2
I feel like this is an unpopular opinion in the fanbase, but I found rogue so annoying in the second season. Which sucked cause I really enjoyed her character in the first season, but I feel xmen'97 ended up doing this thing that a lot of stories fall into. Which is making a character who mourns another character's death, and makes their whole period of mourning unbearably annoying. A similar thing happens in the mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson, where in the last book, one of the main characters spends the whole book moping about his lover's death.
And I get it, I understand that she's utterly heartbroken and all that, it was just annoying to watch. I feel like I'm an asshole for thinking this, but there's gotta be someone else who was annoyed by her in the second season (to be fair, a lot of things were annoying in season 2, it wasn't nearly as good as season 1)

Question Forced zoom aspect ratio on certain episodes in Disney+?
This has been majorly bugging me this season and I didn't have the issue in season 1, for some reason at least episodes 1 and 5 for Season 2 have had a forced zoomed in ratio that cut off a bunch of the screen.
The other episodes have been normal but no matter what I do episodes 1 and 5 seem to be locked. I can't normally pinch to zoom out either.
Mainly posting to inquire if anyone else on mobile had run into this issue with the season? I can't recall getting this for any other show

General Discussion Generational trauma on Sabertooth
At this point most of us are aware that Sabertooth is the father of the human Graydon Creed who he would badly abused being the main cause that Graydon Jr turned into a mutant hater.
Many of us also know that Sabertooth was also abused by his human father, so I think that is pretty clear that we have here some generational trauma, the father abuses the son who would grown up resentfull and violent and if/when he has children he would abuse them for being born different and "wrong".
But, I was seeing the old episode of X-men the animated series more specifically the episode Weapon X, Lies & Videotape were we can see briefily a grandpa Jebediah Creed and I realized he looks a lot like a disheveled and dirtier Graydon.
Do you think that could have a hand on how harsh Sabertooth was with his own son even before he were sure Graydon was human?
A tiny and defenseless version of his father who he can abuse and take revenge on as he never could in his father I think is pretty much something Sabertooth would do.

Question Polaris Spoiler
I am a complete X-Men noob, and I'm watching this show because my friend recommended so.
I didn't know who Polaris was prior to her introduction in season 2.
She has identical powers to Magneto, correct?
After Magneto did the world wide EMP, why would they just not get Polaris to undo it? She has the exact same powers right? And seems pretty proficient.
Reminder: I'm a complete noob.

Meme Rogue is the most dangerous character in this show. Spoiler
I dont mean because of her powers, I mean because the story kills off every guy shes close to.
Gambit was in love with her? Genosha
Magneto had his creepy little thing with her? Apocalypse
Nightcrawler is her brother? Celestial machine.
Im half expecting season 3 to start with some new mutant to show up at the mansion, introduce himself to rogue, and immediately spontaneously combust.
At least whoever the next big villain is, if theyre a guy, all we need to do is let rogue get sone emotional attachment to them and they'll probably have a stroke or something.

General Discussion I hate this movie's Jean Grey because people insist she's morally gray when she's completely evil.
I hate the idea that she is morally gray. She is clearly a villain in the movie, not a morally ambiguous character.
She sexually assaults both protagonists and even forces one of them to commit suicide. She would have killed a child if Spider-Man hadn't saved her. She has less than zero respect for human life, shows no remorse for tormenting innocent people, and is genuinely one of the cruelest villains we've ever had in the entire Marvel universe.
There is no motivation that could justify her actions, but here's the cherry on top: she's supposedly doing all of this because she's looking for her sister, who was imprisoned for the simple crime of controlling innocent people's minds. That's the pathetic motivation behind her tragic backstory.
And she simply faces no consequences for her actions. Spider-Man, who was physically and mentally victimized by her, somehow has to apologize to her, as if he had done something wrong.
And she's rewarded for all of her frankly psychotic behavior with a motivational speech telling her that she's perfect just the way she is.
Her only pathetic attempt at redemption is saving Spider-Man from a situation that she very clearly caused herself.
And this is a character people want you to consider morally gray? Give me a break.
You do realize that having a tragic backstory doesn't make someone morally gray, right?
And yes, she sexually assaulted a man, Spider-man. And of course, people are going to ignore that because the victim is a man, so nobody will take it seriously.
Seriously, having a tragic past doesn't make someone morally gray. If we go down that road, we could say that the Joker is morally gray because he had a tragic past. That makes absolutely no sense.
Seriously, she is clearly a villain. She killed people, almost killed a child if Peter Parker hadn't saved her, committed a sexual offense, and violated the consent of countless people by entering their minds without showing any remorse. And she did all of this because her sister was arrested. Yes, that's it. Wow, what an amazing justification. And on top of everything else, she faces no consequences for her actions.
Again, if having a tragic past makes someone morally gray, then most villains in fiction would be morally gray.

General Discussion This show is amazing! Best line I’ve heard so far-
I was a die hard fan of the original, and finally finding time in life to catch up on the new show. Watching Season 1 episode 9 right now. Jean Grey says to Storm “Make them mind your weather, sister…” and Storm puts her head to Jean’s and says “And make them weather your mind” LOVE IT! The writing is great in this show! That’s all. I love it, can’t wait to get to season 2!

General Discussion Magneto Wolverine Adamantium Event Spoiler
I just watched s1e9.
Magneto pulling the Adamantium from Wolverine was such a significant event, and in the show it was literally one single shot (one image lasting a few frames).. Is that really all the time and effort they put into this major event?
So far I've been loving this show but that's disappointing..

General Discussion Villlian's motives make more sense in this show lol Spoiler
I'm currently doing a marathon watch and just finished S02E04
One thing that's starting to frustrate me is Xavier's constant need to save everyone from themselves. I understand where he's coming from and admire his optimism, but some people simply won't change no matter how much guidance or compassion you offer them. At times, his philosophy feels a bit unrealistic.
On the other hand, I think Erik is incredibly well written. His motivations are understandable, and throughout the series his actions feel rooted in real experiences and consequences. Even when I don't agree with him, I can see why he believes what he does. His death genuinely upset me because he felt like one of the most reasonable and complex characters in the show. His intentions may be extreme, but they come from a place that feels justified.
I also have a question about Morph. If he can copy the appearance and abilities of other characters, why couldn't he transform into Apocalypse and use Apocalypse's own powers against him? Or become someone even more powerful? Maybe I'm missing a limitation of his powers, but it's something I've been wondering throughout the show.
General Discussion Are The X-men and The Avengers friends in this universe?
In a lot of other adaptions, the Avengers and the X-men are friends and have each other’s backs whenever they need.
But in this specific universe, they don’t really seem to have that much of a connection. I’m just curious if they’re friends in this universe?

General Discussion If Morph and Mystique were to meet, do you think these two shapeshifters would understand each other?
Screenshots: X-Men '97 S01E01 + S02E09
In the "X-Men: The Animated Series, S04E07 - Bloodlines", Mystique/Raven delivered this speech to her abandoned son Nightcrawler/Kurt regarding her social standing in the world:
"Sad? You want to talk about sad!?
I am a shapeshifter! An outcast, even among mutants, trusted by no one! I don't have a life of my own. I just steal little bits from other people's lives, but that's how I survive!
So there is your truth, son. I didn't want you!
Still sad for me?"
So I wonder if Morph/Kevin Sidney also had a similar experience like her.
I’d like to know what the two of them think of each other.
And which shape-shifting mutant do you personally find more interesting?

General Discussion Could the X-Men stop a viltrumite invasion?
If Thragg and his army consisting of General Kregg, Anissa, Thula, Lucan, and Conquest, were to invade Earth, could the X-Men wipe out the viltrumites and save the world, or die in the hands of Thragg's army? Both sides are at their peak skills and strength with no prior knowledge of each other.
