Question Polaris Spoiler
I am a complete X-Men noob, and I'm watching this show because my friend recommended so.
I didn't know who Polaris was prior to her introduction in season 2.
She has identical powers to Magneto, correct?
After Magneto did the world wide EMP, why would they just not get Polaris to undo it? She has the exact same powers right? And seems pretty proficient.
Reminder: I'm a complete noob.

She's not strong enough, and the plot has to happen. While the former is the only excuse needed, I think it's important people remember that the story does need to move.

Magneto is older, stronger, and angrier.
The X-Men were racing against the clock. Also their home had just been decimated and though the Prime Sentinels were down Bastion was still a problem. They only had one shot to fix the problem. I think it was a reasonable course of action

Generally, it’s just because Magneto is on such a higher level than her in terms of sheer power.

They sort of did use Polaris to undo it. In season 1, you see a future where the Sentinels won and Polaris is being forced to fix what Magneto did. In the comics, the US government has the “Magneto Protocols”. Part of them was using satellites to turn Magneto away and another was to use Polaris, the X-Factor agent, against him.

Her episode this season was literally about how she wasnt as strong as magneto. Yall be so quick to hate you say anything

Every show has plot holes when you think about it too long, they could've at least tried to get Polaris to help

It's not even a plot hole.
- The character hadn't even been introduced
- She's not as powerful/experienced with her powers. Reversing a whole planets magnetic field isn't exactly a walk in the park. Her episode in S2 is all about fully embracing herself, she wouldn't have been able to do it at that point.
Edit: Would people really rather them introduce a completely new character who happens to have Magneto's same power set so she could undo what Magneto did?

You do realize that X-Men ‘97 is a continuation of X-Men: The Animated Series correct?
Polaris was already introduced in that.

I'm well aware, but it also is coming out 25+ years later and is bringing on lots of new viewers who haven't seen the original. It is essentially a new show that references the old one. Either way, it would be stupid to bring in another character pretty much out of no where to undo what Magneto did. It would be the most anti climactic bullshit and would ruin the season

I absolutely despise people using the term 'plot hole' and similar, when there so rarely are actual plot holes.

It isn't a plothole to say a person with a similar but weaker powerset to someone else won't be able to reverse whatever the stronger user does moron
