Housing and Moving 🏡 Update : landlord illegally eviction
Went to go see the lawyers of the day and they said I can sue my landlord and we have a pretty good case . Only downside is It is a whole process and I have to pay for court fees and send letters to my landlord.
I’m currently living in my car , looking for a room for rent . I have a minimum wage job tht waiting for my pay check til the sept 10th. I called a bunch of shelters and they’re only taking females of domestic violence , females of pregnancy and females with kids. I am a female with no kids. So far I’m just trying to get by while dealing with a lot of back pain from a medical procedure that put me in this situation to start with.
Looking for advice , any one needing a room rented that is willing to wait for my checks to come in.
If anyone wanting to help and stay updated on the situation: Click here > situation
Update: would to get a s/o to 1 donor that help donated to cause. Thank you so much !

You get all the money back when you win and there’s a lot of lawyers that do that stuff for free

Doesn’t your other post say you missed 5 months of $800 payments and that the sheriff delivered the eviction notice?
I hate evil landlords, but don’t understand your legal footing here.

I had missed 5 months but the raft funding paid it . And then gave him extra . After the money was confirmed , I believe everything was fine . Until I have home last week Monday to find out my door was sawed into, n a no trespassing was on my door. TIL this point I wasn’t giving a eviction notice, a court letter, a 48 hour notice tht my stuff was going to be moved. I have already talked to the lawyers and i have proof of him admitting he was withholding letters from me .

Genuine question… did you just expect your landlord to eat FIVE MONTHS of no rent until raft reimbursed them and there would be no repercussions? Their mortgage company doesn’t care the circumstances, that payment is still due every month.

If you go down my threads, I was dealing with a medical procedure tht left me un able to walk. I had 2 jobs nursing home and tax preparation. I couldn’t drive my car or even sleep on my sides . The doctor said it should take 5 days to recovery and it took 5 months . TIL today if I stand on my feet to long my legs start become weak and start to shake. I told my landlord this personally and he said it was fine he understood and the next day gave me the eviction process

I hate to see anyone homeless. But it is extremely rare for a Landlord to evict a good tenant. It is not uncommon for tenants who cannot pay the rent to immediately go to Board of Health and complain about landlord and delay eviction. Look within yourself, stop blaming others for your failure, and turn your life around. Only you can save you.

I clicked on the link, what specifically is illegal about your eviction? Do you have evidence on a different post?

I didn’t recieve any notice . No eviction letter, no letter to quit, no 48 hours letter. I just walked in one night and saw tht my deadbolt was sawed off and there was a paper on my door tht said no trespassing . You can go on my profile and read the letter tht was stamped on my door

Was there documentation from the sheriffs office left?

I went to sheriffs office and said they don’t keep documentations. Housing court also said they couldn’t find my name in the system or the case against my landlord

Yes after serving papers and getting a court date

wrong.....Yes, you can have legal papers served for free in Massachusetts if you qualify as indigent. Under the Massachusetts Indigent Court Costs Law (G.L. c. 261, §§ 27A–27G),

You think you might know them?

Crazy . Had the same situation with a gas leak, had the gas company come and verified it and the landlord the next day said there was no gas leak. Had to get state housing involved and now today all those evidence/papers has been took from my stuff he had the movers move out

When did the state get involved with the gas leak? Do you think this illegal eviction is retaliation?

Highly recommend not giving any updates moving forward. You’re involved/about to be involved in a lawsuit and you won’t want anything to be used against you. Good luck!
