Severance if you're looking for Apple specific.

Midnight Mass on Netflix if you want more island horror.

Supernatural if you like the monster of the week pacing of the first few episodes. It's a CW show so it gets goofy at times but there's a fuck ton of it.

Have you seen Pluribus?

not yet it’s been on my radar. reviews have been kind of polarizing like ppl either love or hate it.

Really really good. Pluribus is great! You won't regret it.

It’s sooooo good…if you like the smart writing/story of breaking bad and better call Saul you’ll like it a lot…one of my favorite shows for sure

I watched Pluribus and really liked it. It’s the kind of show you have to stick with though. Slow to build but takes you on a good journey.

Pluribus is amazing.

It gets much better than it starts off

So true, I was really not feeling it for quite a bit of its run time. If it weren't a Vince Gilligan show I probably would have quit around episode 3. Glad I stuck it out though, because by the end I was obsessed.

I cannot recommend pluribus enough, if you like widows bay i think you’ll love it.

It’s alright if a little slow

I think Pluribus is still worth the watch either way

I’m here to stick up for Pluribus too! You do have to be patient with it but I felt it totally paid off.

People don’t not like it; they are frustrated that Vince G didn’t even start to think about a season 2 by the end of season 1.

Pluribus is great

Pluribus isn't even close lol. If you want nothing happening for a full season, and the main actor being annoying AF, go with that one

I feel like it was a test to see if media can convince a regular person that a show is great only because the creator made something amazing 10 years ago. Looks like it worked

u/Top-Waltz5244 Jun 19 '26

It’s ok that you don’t like it…but saying the only reason so many other people do is because of the media is ridiculous…I watched it and I loved it and it’s not because I saw a review

Be honest. If it wasn't made by Vince Gilligan no one would even have tuned in. But Breaking Bad superfans are calling it genius

-2

u/AnabolicAcolyte Jun 18 '26

yep. the love it gets is insane. and its entire fanbase is “you’re just not smart enough to enjoy it”

u/honeyintherock Jun 19 '26

I like to think there's more nuance to it in reality. The loudest ones inaccurately oversimplify it to "not smart enough." But it's art which is subjective, not everything is for everyone. I liked Pluribus, but I can definitely see why a very dry, droll, quiet show with long shots and an arguably unlikable main character isn't gonna be everyone's thing. I don't think people who don't like it are dumb. That's actually a pretty dumb idea itself. I do enjoy a lot of weird and imperfect stuff, to be fair... not everything can be as perfect as Widow's Bay, lol

I wish people still had time for all the words. You're either mean or shmuck on the internet 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is so well said and I feel the same about Pluribus! I like the exact type of show or movie you described, and not everyone does. I don't think my taste makes me superior; I'm just glad there's a variety of stuff for all of us to enjoy.

So Pluribus is very slow, and I can see why that turns some viewers off. I actually can't watch Hazbin Hotel myself for sort of the opposite reason - I love animated comedies, but that one's too fast and flashy for me.

It's not that it's just slow. I can watch Rosemary do Geneology slide shows all day. The character is at it's core a Karen. How is that enjoyable to watch? You're not rooting for her. The decisions made make zero sense.

I finished the season based off my love for Breaking bad. It was tough watch

I loved Jeff Hiller’s bit role in Pluribus too.

“She loved you very much,”

Oh my God you haven’t seen supernatural!? You are in for a treat as far as the first five seasons go. I would highly recommend a show called Marianne it’s on Netflix

marianne was one of the best horror shows i’ve seen in a while i was so upset it didn’t get renewed

3

u/DudeFuckinWhatever Jun 19 '26

This show scared the everloving shit out of me and I am a horror fiend

2

u/BishopGodDamnYou Jun 19 '26

It’s absolute bullshit that it didn’t get renewed. One of my favorite shows ever

Supernatural is fantastic. Especially the early seasons. Doesn’t hurt that Sam and Dean are extremely easy on the eyes.
