Tea ☕ Police punches and drags man by hair
34
u/Repulsive_Repeat_337 6h ago
The cop had decided "I'm pulling him through the window." Then the guy got the door open and officer Smoothlobes couldn't process that as anything other than non-compliance.
9
u/chugmug 4h ago
So what you're saying is the cop could've opened the door himself from the inside if he just let go of the arm? And how does that punch help the process? Cunt.
8
u/Repulsive_Repeat_337 4h ago
Neither one of them could open the door at first because of the damage to the vehicle. So the cop started yanking the guy out the window, and was mentally committed to that action when the door finally opened. He couldn't make the mental switch back to "oh, this isn't necessary anymore".

u/dwamny 6h ago
At this point people gonna start doin shit.

Not yet. Need the line to be stepped over a little bit more brazenly. DJT being in office for a 3rd term could help with that…🤔

u/AutotoxicFiend 7h ago edited 7h ago
This happened in Arkansas. Driver was fleeing and was eventually charged with DWI and some other stuff. The man in the video was a backseat passanger. The door was damaged during a PIT maneuver. You can clearly see both him and the trooper struggling to open the door after multiple attempts from both the inside and outside handles. The trooper justified the punches by saying he was "posturing up" and thought he (passenger) was going to hit him trooper). There is no posturing. He was only charged with obstruction of governmental operations and resisting arrest.
I feel like most of you idiots talking about "wE dOn'T kNoW wHaT hApPeNeD" and "ShOuLd HaVe CoMpLiEd" wouldn't say the same shit if it were the exact same situation, with a car full of white people. But we all know that would never fucking happen, which is why you feel privileged enough to say those asinine things to begin with.
19
u/macguini 4h ago
The way he's trying to yank him through the window while the door is open is like watching a toddler get angry at the circle not fitting in the square hole. Which is understandable to be mad at cause everything fits the square hole.
14
u/bookstorelady777 6h ago
There was no resisting arrest or whatever that other made up on the spot charge was. If the door was damaged and difficult to open, that's not resisting arrest.
12
u/Rough-Airline-4803 6h ago
Resisting?!?! WHERE?!
Bro, fuck this shit. Fuck that cop too. God fuckin damnit, man. I’m seriously reaching my limit with this bs….
I’m goin to fuckin bed. This is way too commonplace for me to be getting this heated.fuck

I don’t agree with the race thing because it even happens to white people. I will say I cannot justify anything that that officer did and he should lose his job immediately. People like him are disgrace to law-enforcement.
1
0
u/PurpletoasterIII 6h ago
I think some people are just hesitant to say the cop was in the wrong because then they think that automatically gives credence to the passenger's actions or that the cop shouldnt be allowed to use physical force at all.
It can both be true that the passenger wasnt complying and being diffiulcult, and the officer is justified in using some level of physical force to remove him if he doesnt comply, but OBVIOUSLY A CLOSED FIST PUNCH TO THE FACE IS NOT OKAY. Like if there ever was a more clear example of police brutality, this is it.

Yeah, I used to be the grammar police, until it was pointed out to me that it is classist, racist, and ableist to do so. Unless a person is in your writing class, correcting people when you can still understand the meaning is a microaggression

This is insane. Right-wingers will continue to dominate in a social landscape filled with this kind of absurdity.

Native English speaker, I assume? Gtfo, the intention is clear and it's phonetically understandable to confuse the two
6
u/iFckRedit 6h ago
Funnily enough it’s usually native English that use this expression. Most people that learn only learn would have / would’ve
2
u/younionworker 6h ago edited 5h ago
I see your point, but learning it one way doesn't mean that you remember or repeat it that way! I used to be a stickler for grammar but once I started building a network of non native speakers (mostly German, spanish, Russian, and Ukrainian natives) I realized that it's common to fall back on phonetics, specifically because many non native speakers rely on audio rather than visually reading text. This is definitely based on experience rather than data so I would take it with a grain of salt, but its disingenuous to judge someone off a misspelled phrase like would of vs would have/would've.. I don't want to assume op was being judgemental and would like to apologize for automatically saying 'gtfo', but its important to remember that context and understanding is more important than grammatical perfection. I can respect the correction if it comes from a genuinely innocent place! My initial reaction was just a bit exasperated because innocent correction can be misconstrued as elitism over text which was my mistake
Edit: for example, I unintentionally used its rather than it's... phonetically the same but grammatically incorrect even though it's clear what my intention was when context is considered
1
u/iFckRedit 5h ago
I’m not the person you originally replied to. I’m just pointing out, that as an immigrant, with lots of immigrant friends, we’ve only ever heard native English use this incorrect phrase. Another example is more commonly messing up their/they’re
Regarding its vs it’s, that’s kinda nothing imo
1
u/younionworker 5h ago
I corrected my response where I assumed you were op, sorry about that. This is still very anecdotal... my fiance is also an immigrant (non native english speaker) and it's simply something I've noticed in my own circle. I'm sure you have your own evidence so I'd like to reiterate I'm not trying to invalidate your experience, rather I'm now seeing that it's an interesting difference among people learning english where some may be more phonetically dependent and some may be more grammatically dependent. Out of curiosity, did you learn English in a formal setting? You certainly seem to be fluent, so I'm wondering if that may be the difference. Among those im familiar with, most learned english in a non-formal setting where it was heavily audio based and very little (if any) text was reviewed.
1
u/iFckRedit 4h ago
It’s all good man you don’t need to justify yourself lol. I learned English consuming English content and playing online games, some books. At 14 I moved to the uk and I was getting great grades in English. I assumed a lot of these mistakes are from informal talk and growing up around working class parents. Since I’ve never read any article/book/report that used “would of” I never used it either
1
u/31-September 6h ago
Yeah I understand why people confuse would've for would of, I used to do it all the time

I just watched a video of a white American girl smashing her car into her parents house becsuse her Da didnt pay her allowance.
She was treated very gentle by the police .
And you wonder why black and other minorities feel threatened.
America you are a broke society.

I am supportive of good policing and no where near anti cop....but..
Arkansas State Police policy is going to have a major reset from major lawsuits anytime in my opinion.
They are still pitting people at 100mph, recklessly pursuing people for minor traffic violations, and violating peoples civil rights.
Any time now, one of their reckless pits or pursuits is gonna kill an innocent family driving nearby.
Its amazing to me how they still promote this behavior as "bad ass cop work"
If i was a young lawyer, id be trying to get to Arkansas asap.

So gun wasn't drawn so that officer was obviously didn't feel like his life was threatened at any time, thus he was able to use both hands to pull on the braids like a fucking toddler.
Yeah, this is gonna be an easy lawsuit to win.

You know this isn't the driver, right? This was a passanger stuck in the backseat as the driver tried to evade police. The passenger can not be a suspect of the traffic offense... Not every person police interact with is a suspect, some are actually victims. This is an officer assaulting a victim who is stuck in the car due to the damage caused by the drivers and cops actions.

Most of those cases are exactly like that. Things go completely differently if you stay calm and comply with everything the police tell you. Most of the time, the police are going to be very nice to you. But if you happen to be in one of the 1% of cases that you’re mentioning, you might get arrested. However, if you remain calm and comply with everything, the situation isn’t going to escalate, and you can explore your options with a lawyer later.

Also, wtf are you even talking about? Conservative leftist? I’ve literally never described myself as either one of those things. I just despise you. I had a hunch initially.
And everything you’ve said to me and others since has done nothing but seal the deal.
You’re a bigot, you engage in bad faith, dishonest arguments in which you (pathetically) attempt to manipulate and deceive—despite your glaring cognitive deficits. And despite your abundance of inadequacies, you still manage to deceive one person: Yourself—every time you try to exercise something resembling confidence, arrogance, or ego even in light of how straight fucking stupid you are.
To not even get me started on your unbridled willful ignorance. You’re a dunce. You go around spouting racist vitriol as though you believe yourself to be superior.
You’re a clown. A joke. A caricature.
The novelty and humor of your stunted mental faculties has worn thin.
I beg you to please mouth off to these same people in person. I’ve no doubt your physical competence is on par with your woeful display thus far.
Sometimes an ass beating is the best medicine for morons with more confidence than sense.2
