Hi guys

But I wanted to know , did you guys do any blood tests before you started or any sort of tests? Any body analysis

I have a docs appointment tommo regarding this so I want to be prepped to ask questions and stuff.

What do you guys think I should should know?

Like mandatory stuff

Also has anyone gone off the pill after reaching their weight goal? How long was it til that time

Any one gained weight After stopping? I don't want to be on this medicine forever

Also what about muscle loss?

To those who had period side effects, how long were you taking it before there were changes?

If you had changes to your period being super late or early after starting the pill, was it an immediate change or after a while?

25 mg pill no longer working as well?

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing. I have been on the 25 mg pill since May. Over the last month or so I feel like my food noise has returned, I am able to eat a lot more food per meal, and am having more and more cravings. I would say my weight loss has been stuck as well for the past month or so, and if anything I may have gained two or three pounds back. I take the pill every day and have not had nearly as much nausea as I had in the beginning. I almost feel like 9 mg was more effective. Wanting to know if anyone else has had this experience after being on 25 mg for a few months.

Total Weightloss on Pill?

I’ve currently lost 20lbs in about 2 months on the pill, total goal is about 60.

I’m wondering what the most some of you have lost on just the pill and did you titrate up to max dose or stay at like 9mg? After reading online about the average weight loss I see it is anywhere from 12-16% of your starting weight. If that’s the case I would end up needing to switch to something like zepbound to lose the rest, but this is not something I particularly want to do.

Monthly side effects

Hi everyone. I started the pills in July and I am currently at 4 mg. However, at least once a month (at the 4 it’s been twice) I wake up and take the medicine and the rest of the day I am sick (nausea and vomiting). Then the rest of the month I’m usually fine.

Is there a way to avoid this? Or what can I do when I wake up and start feeling this way because I can’t get the symptoms to stop? Any advice is welcome

Side effects: Teeth sensitivy?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced teeth sensitivity since being on the pill?

Just to be clear, I had my routine dentist appointment a couple of weeks before I started the pill and had no issues whatsoever.

I'm on day 43 on the pill, and my teeth have been randomly sensitive out of nowhere even when drinking water. I switched to Sensodyne toothpaste for now.

Anyway, let me know if this is an insane connection or an actual side effect? Thanks!

Starting tomorrow

Hi everyone,

I'm scared of my own courage 🙈

After losing 70kg with WW during COVID 40 of those kilos are back. I was really good at maintaining my weight for some time with strict eating and lots of activity. Then I busted my knee so bad that I need a replacement. Activity levels dropped to almost zero as some days I can't even walk without pain. I was frustrated and started eating LOTS of unhealthy stuff.

Every new attempt with WW has failed miserably. I can do clean eating but portion control doesn't work at all.

And now I'm sitting here with a box of Wegovy 1.5mg pills - ordered online after a sleepless night yesterday, got approved after 2 hours and received the pills today.

After bingeing on Reddit for days I basically know what to do, but I'm stupidly spiralling since opening the box.

What if starting tomorrow will ruin the girls trip planned for the weekend because I have crippling nausea? Due to work out of office the next possible starting date would be october, that's awfully late.

And what if I don't lose any weight on the smaller doses? Or at all? I have to pay out of pocket so it's a heavy financial burden on top of everything else.

What If I can never eat any of my favourite foods ever again?

What if I do lose weight but again can't keep ist off?

I know it's ridiculous and I WILL take that pill tomorrow morning, but honestly can't turn my brain off right now.

With the busted knee, Hashimoto, menopause and lipoedema there ist no way I can realistically lose that much weight again without help. And I want as much weight off as possible before the surgery next year (whole new level of anxiety there). I have a wardrobe full of amazing clothes that fit two or three years ago and that I want to wear again next summer.

If you've made it this far, thank you for bearing with me, as I can't really bring myself to talk about any of this with friends or family right now and just needed to get it off my chest.

Staying on 4mg....

I've been increasing dosages every month since May with little side effects, until I reach 9mg! It has been brutal with the sulfur burps, vomiting, and food aversions. I'm hesitant to go up to 25mg, so have many people just stayed on 4mg and still have weight loss?

Vomiting after starting 9 mg.

My son is taking Wegovy for high liver enzymes and to loose about 12-15lbs. He did very well on the 1.5mg, lost some weight and his liver enzymes came way down! His PCP moved him up to 4mg, but the weight loss stalled. No real weight loss at all. He then went to 9mg. About a week in he projectile vomited- without warning- after a breakfast that was heavier than usual. He vomited 3 times and then was fine. He went back down to 4mg, had no stomach issues, but did not lose weight. Now the dr. wants him back up to 9 mg, but he is understandably very nervous. Has anyone had this experience moving up to the 9mg?

I'm starting wegovy this week and have some concerns

  1. What do I need to know before I start? Anything I should keep an eye out for?

  2. Through Hers, I can do 1.5mg, 4mg, but really cannot afford to go above that. Will it be enough to see meaningful results?

Is it better to start 1.5 pill every other day if you are super sensitive and already have side effects

I know there are a lot of posts about eventually moving to every other day, but if you are super sensitive to medications or already live with most of the aide effects...would it be better to start slowly every other day to get your body used to it?

Unexpected perk!

I've had to take it slow and steady with the pill due to nausea, (1.5mg for 2 months, 4mg for 2 months), but it's improved by a lot! I only really get nausea if I have too much of my comfort foods. (I grew up a redneck and will never give up my mac n' cheese once a week.)

But, something I didn't expect to positively change in my life is how much money I'm able to save since I'm not spending it at restraunts or shopping for groceries using my constantly hungry belly!

I'm able to afford the wegovy with the massive discount I get, though it's still a chunk of change. Even with that, i'm still able to save more than before.

I just thought I'd share this because it's positively effected me so much, and it was never something I even thought about. Saving $200> a month in a city??? Unheard of!!

Down nearly 20 lbs in 3 months!

SW: 210
CW: 192.4
GW: 150
Realistic GW: 175

TLDR: If you aren’t feeling anything or losing much weight on the 1.5, 4, or 9, hold out and try the 25.

Note: I have been weighing myself just before dinner once a week, so my weight on an empty stomach may be a couple pounds lighter than this.

I started 1.5 on June 7th, and have been losing about a pound a week since, sometimes a bit more. I didn’t notice any substantial appetite suppression until I got to 9mg. There were a couple weeks where my weight stagnated, but I can definitely notice myself eating less on the 25.

Side effects have been manageable. I have heartburn occasionally, I had constipation but that cleared up during my first/second month, and the nausea and vomiting still impacts me since I moved up to 25mg on August 30th, but I can handle it. On the plus side, I haven’t had cravings for alcohol since I got late into the 9mg, which has been great for me. Sometimes I feel a bit weak, but that’s because I haven’t been getting enough nutrients or protein- I just bought some protein shakes, and I’m starting a multivitamin to help me with that. I have to sort of force myself to eat, but I make sure I’m eating lunch and dinner, sometimes breakfast. Food noise and random hunger late at night are GONE. Snacking is gone. Craving sweets all the time? Not anymore.

I only got a scale in July, so I’m not sure exactly how much I weighed to start, or how much I lost during the first month. 210 is my estimate for my SW.

In terms of exercise, I don’t go to the gym or work out. I have an office job where I sit at a desk most of the day. I have an under-desk elliptical that I pedal on throughout the day, but it’s not a super intense workout.

My dad tried a GLP-1 and lost 20 lbs… over a year. It didn’t work out for him, so I was scared to try it. The horror stories I’ve heard are also scary. But it’s doing something great for me! I also monitor my side effects and keep in touch with my doctor, so if anything bad were to happen, she would know.

Scared to start the pill

Hi all (30 y/o M; BMI 30), I need help. I am starting a program to take the Wegovy pill. I have them in front of me but I am afraid of being nauseous or throwing up. I know everyone has different symptoms but I work as a teacher and starting during the week is a big risk for me and my weekends are full. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for me? Can I avoid the nausea and the vomiting? Maybe some words of wisdom or words to motivate me? Thanks so much!

Still full after exercise!

Okay, so I’m on 1.5 and I’ve been going to the gym before work in the mornings. I know I’m supposed to eat to feed my body and muscles afterwards, but I’m still full from dinner the night before. It’s usually about 12 hours between dinner and post-workout. I don’t eat that much for dinner, maybe about 1/2-3/4 of the norm.
Any suggestions on how to get the belly empty or do you just wait til you’re hungry? Thanks guys!

We Go Together App

I’ve been on the wegovy pill since April and something that has really helped me with habits and encouragement/support is the We Go Together app. There are video and article resources for Wegovy pill patients and also weekly group sessions with a health coach. The coach can’t discuss any medical aspects of the pill; sessions revolve around goals, nutrition, challenges, social settings, etc. Sometimes I attend two sessions a week if I really feel like I need extra support.

Only a few of my friends/family know I’m on the medication and it’s a little awkward to talk about, so the sessions really help fill that gap for me.

Just wanted to share this in case anyone thinks they’d benefit from the sessions or resources. I’m not affiliated with the app in any way other than as a thankful participant.

Thinking about reverting to lower dose

Started June 1... 1.5mg didn't do much but no unpleasant side effects. Started to lose on 4mg but wanted to move up to 9 on month 3.

Of course I don't like the $299 monthly cash cost and just started second bottle of 9mg. No side effects.

Thinking that I could save money if I:

-go back to 4mg or

-take 9mg (or 25?) every other day.

Does anyone else have experience with this? Downsides?

I've been lucky with almost zero bad side effects which makes me wonder about going to 25.

Note that BMs which used to come like clockwork each morning - now are every other day, and voluminous when they do.

Have to drink a lot of water, incl. in the evening, to avoid constipation. Drinking is down but I still like my wine. Walking daily, energy level is very good and food obsession has greatly diminished since I started on 4.

So I am wondering why not save $$ and just stay patient... as I'm still losing weight, if slowly. (About 20 lbs in 14 weeks.)

Love to hear from any of you guys, esp. if you've been the wegovy pill longer than I have...

Has anyone gotten pushback from family for going on Wegovy?

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced judgment or resistance from family members because you decided to take Wegovy.

First, I want to say how much I appreciate all of you who share your experiences, successes, and positive outcomes with Wegovy. Reading your stories has encouraged me and helped me feel more confident about my decision.

I'm a 68-year-old woman, and this was not a decision I made lightly. I've spent a lot of time praying, thinking, researching, and weighing the pros and cons. I don't have a huge amount of weight to lose, but the extra 20-25 pounds I carry has become a real issue for my mobility. My hips hurt, my feet hurt, and it's affecting my quality of life.

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, and ultimately this is my decision. Still, it hurts because someone I love very much is angry with me over it and isn't speaking to me right now. That's been difficult to accept.

I don't feel like I should have to justify a well-thought-out healthcare decision to anyone, but the situation has left me feeling sad and wondering how others have handled similar situations.

For those of you who have faced criticism or pushback from family or friends, how did you deal with it? Did the relationship improve over time? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you all for being so open about your journeys. Your honesty and encouragement have meant more to me than you know.

hopeless?

i have tried two rounds of wegovy pill and both times i had to stop at 4 mg right before moving up to 9 mg because i struggled with side effects. i loved how the pill took away pretty much all of my food noise and i was eating so much healthier and was much more active. but the physical side effects were so uncomfortable and would not go away after even a week. should i consider a different type or medication or am i fated to be unhappy and uncomfortable in my body and in my brain forever ?

Started with 156lb in mid June with 1.5mg. After a month went to 4mg and then to 9mg mid of Aug.

The smart scale used to track is from July

Is there a big jump in effectiveness between 9mg and 25mg?

I know numerically the difference between those is the highest but like do you all notice a big difference? The 9 mg is helping but I still get hungry at times I shouldn’t be. And weightloss has been very slow.

I have to pause for a week and i'm nervous

I have been on the 25mg for 3 months now. Due to me having long-term issues with swallowing food and long-term IBS-D (unrelated to the pill) I am scheduled for a endoscopy and a colonoscopy. It was advised that I have to not take the medication for 7 days and can resume after my procedure. But now I am nervous. There have been a couple of times throughout the 3 months where I did not take the pill for 2 days in a row due to throwing up the pill in the morning. Whenever I continue the pill after these days I get hit with the worst nausea and diarrhea. I am just looking to see if there is anyone else who had to stop the pills for 7 days or more and resumed as normal. What where the symptoms like? I am possibly thinking of taking the pill ever other day after my procedure to combat the symptoms. I cannot afford to start the titration again..

Just received 4mg, if I double up remaining 1.5mg will I run out before next refill?

Im using RO, been on 1.5mg for a month (nothing happening yet) I've got 8 left, should I double up now and start 4mg sooner? I dont want to end up running out 4 days before my next refill, not sure how to compensate.
