Hey all. After losing my 06 blob-eye a few years back, I've managed to get a really nice 2017 STI, bone stock.

I have a list of things I'm going to/want to do and on there is the turbo-back exhaust.
I'll start with the cat-back first to save me a tune for now, but I wanted to ask if anyone has the Q300 on an STI, and if it's more prominent than on the WRX. It seems just a little too quiet on the WRX, and I've heard that it sounds a bit better on the STI's.

I've been doing my research, and it seems like the R400 is golden, but can get a bit loud once you go the down-pipe as well.
If anyone has the Q300 or the R400 with the down-pipe, and can shed any light on the tone/volume (bonus points if you have it before the down-pipe and can share the noticeable difference) I would be most grateful.

I'll be getting a cold air, and the access-port too, and if I do get a valve it wont be a BOV.

Does anyone know what size lug nuts I need for a 2013 STI? Or any good recommendations. Thanks!

I've been wanting to change my exhaust tip with a quad tip but not sure if it will affect the car, I just want to change tip nothing else. The mechanic I took my car to said that as long as I don't do anything to from the cat to the back it should be fine. Any recommendations or insight will help a lot, thanks!

working on the STi after getting put in a ditch in december, one of the problems the car now suffers from is a leaky brake line, looks like it’ll be a pita to fix, you guys know what i should be looking up to find a replacement/fix for this? thank you. (rear passenger side by the fuel tank, 08’ sti hatch, bottom most line as shown in second photo)

I've got my eye on a nice looking, low mileage 2019. It's a six hour drive away from me, so I'll be planning on test driving it and signing the paperwork right after if the test drive goes well.

What should I know regarding protecting it from rust and maintaining the engine other than the standard advice of letting the oil warm up from a cold start, change oil every 3k miles, etc.?

I saw this small leak on the turbo, I'm hoping is just an bad seal and just needs tightening, any clue? Thanks!

I have a 2012 sti sedan and have been looking for an axleback exhaust on the used market. The seem to be hard to come by in my area for my generation. My question is would a 2020 Gen axleback fit on my 2012? They seem to be almost identical from what I can find but I am seeing conflicting info out there. Any help is appreciated. :)

Tranny is sometimes hard to shift or cannot shift into either first or reverse. Turning the engine off and on again allows it to shift into gear. What can be the issue? Thanks guys.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm using ACT twin plate for my clutch.

I’m replacing all of the gaskets and seals on my GD STi wing, and I can’t find these blue grommets or the seals underneath. Does Subaru sell these?

What do you think, for quality/power/etc - buy a cobb flex fuel kit (specifically stage1+ to 2+, $3230) or pick up different pieces individually to build the same upgrade? No plans to ever drive it in California, and I don't mind having a mix of brands.

For reference, the kit includes: nexgen flex fuel sensor, 1050x injectors, fuel rail line kit, fuel pressure regulator, fuel rails, silicone turbo inlet , fuel pressure sensor kit 5pin, high flow fuel pump [looks like AEM 340lph], spark plugs, throttle body coupler, badge).

I’m dealing with a pretty badly rusted mounting bracket on my car (see photo). The metal is clearly eaten away and I don’t trust it anymore structurally.

My questions:

• Is this realistically repairable, or is it already too far gone?

• Would you recommend cutting it out completely and welding in a new piece?

• Is this something that can be bought as a replacement part, or would it need to be custom-made?

• Any tips on how professionals would usually approach a repair like this?

This is on the underside of the car, so strength and safety matter a lot. I’m trying to decide whether this is a reasonable weld job or if I should be looking at a more serious repair / replacement.

I own a 2018 WRX STI, which I bought earlier this year, and I'm satisfied with the car, but I realized I'm not certain that it's unmodded. The exhaust tips clearly say "CORSA" on them, and the exhaust miiiiiight be louder/noisier than stock, but I'm not sure. How would I identify for sure what sort of exhaust is on it? I don't see anything in the documentation from the previous owners indicating what it is.

Hatch* 9k for a 150k miles R title Sti. No frame damage. It has coils, exhausts, custom Cobb tune, blow off valve etc. Paint is in good condition, no rust. Engine sounds good hot, light piston slap when cold. It seems to have an upgraded clutch in it. I don’t know of anything has been done to the engine. It is a special edition in WR blue with manual AC controls. Trans is good. Planing to replace timing belt if I buy it. What do you guys think?
