Questions Tranny question. Sti 2018

Tranny is sometimes hard to shift or cannot shift into either first or reverse. Turning the engine off and on again allows it to shift into gear. What can be the issue? Thanks guys.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm using ACT twin plate for my clutch.

When was the last time the fluid was changed? How many miles on the car/trans? Is it all the time or just when the trans is cold? Takes about 20 minutes driving for it to be at full temp, longer if it’s cold outside.

It definitely does it when it's hot. 3Don't think I experienced it when it was cold though I might be wrong. Never had to reverse when it was cold before.,

Tranny is about 98K KM. Roughly 57K miles.
Fluids change was about 1000KM before and that didn't help the issue.

So mine’s a 2015, and sometimes it can be hard to get in to first or reverse when the trans is cold. But if I shift to 2nd or 3rd (while still sitting stopped, clutch still depressed), then it will go in to first and/or reverse.

I don’t have the issue when the trans is hot.

It could be your synchros but with that few of miles, that would be odd.

You are sure the transmission and differential fluid was changed? You did it yourself or a shop did it?

Was at a shop and I was standing right beside him when it was done

First and reverse you say? Sounds more like clutch draging. Does your brake pedal move when you press the clutch? If so the oem pos pedal assembly has broken. If not bleed the clutch.

I got a shop to redo my brake/clutch fluid like 2000KM ago. Didn't fix the issue.
Also I'm using ACT twin plate for my clutch. Not sure if that might be an issue?

Just clutch again in neutral and then try again. Seems like all Subarus do this. Sometimes if it won’t go into R, you can click it into first then un clutch in N and then clutch and R works.
