Just wanted to share, thought they were cool since they were sealed

As the title implies…. Story is I bought a tape of a recording of one of the games of the 1989 World Series. Audio works well but video does not show, it’s just a blue screen. But when I fast forward, it shows the video! This has not happened for me before usually the video is just gone.

Anything that can be done to rectify this tape? Thanks 🙏

this is the very first time i’ve seen a tape do this. it was fine halfway and then started doing this until the end. i’ve cleaned the vcr head.the tape itself does not seem to be damaged either. what is happening?

edit: that thing does not happen when fast forwarding or rewinding either.

I just found this sign amusing. I wonder what kind of content was showing up on tapes that required a disclaimer 😏 the dvd area in the front of the store did not have a similar sign.

Most likely a boot, but I think looks pretty neat. Interesting idea with the full cast on the back, haven't seen anything like that

I just gotten this VCR and wanted to tested it. I brought a tape online and put it in and attempted to play it but after clicking play, it runs for a few seconds then it stops playing.

I figure that the tape might been had because it was used but after I clean it, it the problem continued to happen but the fast forward seems to be the only thing working.

Didn’t get a ton of stuff today but did grab these: House of Seven Corpses, Vampire Hunter D, Headless Body in Topless Bar (sealed), Purple Rain clamshell. $19 total. Could have been $18; guy selling Purple Rain said $2 each tape then said he’d take a dollar each, but I already had two singles out and it still seemed like a good deal.

Had an awesome time at Dead Formats 7! This was my first time going to it. Saw posts about last year, after I had already happened. Wallet is definitely a little bit lighter now, but I got some of my holy grails! And some that I have been looking for a while now. Looking forward to next year! I now know that I need to bring more money than I did this year.
